GGT 352 Is an Ultra Despair Girl named Mad Max - 'A Hideo Kojima Thread'

Didnt the guy reveal some secrets or something? Or is this another thing
That was another thing. That guy was involved in localization of games.

Man, yesterday was just shit. I did have some fun, though. My girlfriend watched me play Phantom Pain for like an hour last night and she was riveted by how fucking crazy it was. She had so many questions about Quiet. It was weird. I've never seen her actually care about one of my games before that didn't have a lot of zombies in it.

He only said shit like, "this is why we don't localize these games"

Granted, if you work for a Japanese company, you do not talk about said Japanese companies business policies.

Is there a part of this site that actually has intelligent discussions and threads revolving around video game news?  Or is that asking too much?

If it is, can you guys suggest another forum/community where such discussions may exist?

EDIT: I'm not saying we should have them *in here*, per se.  Just that I'd like to have them somewhere... and have enough posters to perpetuate a discussion with regular posts/updates instead of being in some niche section where someone posts about once a week or once a day if lucky.

Side note: that's part of the reason my posting in here is sporadic and at an all time low; there's not enough post frequency to keep me coming back to check and potentially reply to other posts on a regular basis.

I wouldn't call GAF one of those... it's full of childish moderators who ban people like zeki for no reason other than some whim.  It's not a land of logic, reason, and impartiality.

There was a forum that Krymner and I used to talk on, but they got bought out by some other company and the changes that were made weren't entirely satisfactory.

Hell, I'd be happy to just post in here regularly, but with it being mostly you talking to Joel and a bunch of the old "crew" like Hank, uraizen, Josh, ice beezy, etc. having disappeared into the "real world", it doesn't really have the same feel of the good old days.

It's actually not that bad and way less ban-happy than it used to be but I wouldn't have given them my ten bucks if not for the fact that the lead designer of Pillars of Eternity and Fallout New Vegas is a regular there and is super talkative about design decisions and shit.

EDIT: The biggest caveat being, of course, that most people there have one or two subforums they visit and that's it and everything else is bland, belongs to some sort of bizarro-universe, or is god damn cancer.

I dont think the internet in general can have serious conversations. I still perfer talking to people outside the internet on gaming. Like skype..... I guess people would have to send me messages first, it also would be based on the people in general. I dont think I have ever seen a website without trolling and child like behavior. The deals thread on here is a mess. I dont know where the mods are, i was debating on posting in the cagcast forum about it. Does cheapy do anything for the site anymore?

You probably want a paid to be on site then.

Crotch, chime in here about SA.
I was going to suggest SA. I haven't been on there in a long time though. The general attitude of GAF is starting to get to me as well. There is a lot more eye-rolling going on in some of the types of threads that get created. Regardless, I don't think CAG has ever been a good news forum.

Not really anymore. I'd be happy to have them here, though. I miss talking about video game news seriously because I get to much less these days. Then again, I also think I'm only really getting my news from the GiantBombcast these days.

Honestly, if the other folks in our thread here posted more often I would try to check in more often as well. I miss the days when the GGT was popping. I kinda think posting for CAG is stuck in a lull right now.

I feel the same. I tried a couple of different video game podcast forums and while the conversation was nice for a couple of weeks, it usually dies off pretty fast and then there's nobody to talk to. I miss the glory days of the GGT. It was nice when we would go through a thread or two in a week sometimes because it was like E3 or some shit.

I know this may not be what everyone else thinks, but I feel like Hank was the soul of the GGT and once he left a lot of our group just slowly went away. Sure, we still have great people in here, but without Hank it's just not the same great GGT taste.

I'm actually really excited for Mika. Really digging how the beta plays so far too, as 4 didn't do much for me. Just hope we get Q and Alex at some point too.

I didn't play the beta. Is it still going?

I am also excited for Miku

I'm just really busy with life nowadays and to be honest, my desire to play video games is at a all-time low and I'm actually thankful for that. I'm starting to hang out with people so much more and getting stuff figured out in my personal life and that's the best thing for me to do right now

I'm going to be there day one for Rock Band 4 though

EDIT: I agree with Joel, I do feel like Hank was the unofficial leader of our group and once his life just became crazy busy, the group started falling apart and even though change sucks, change is always a good thing
