GGT 36 is better than anything JSP can come up with

Then why do you play the games that are "wrong for the industry"?

And Mafia IIs visual are nice, but the facial animations are stiff compared to Uncharted.

You're very excited to pirate PS3 games jer?

Cancelled Mafia II preorder. Gonna get for PC.
Tearing was unbelievable on both consoles. I can't stand that.

Did you fellas see this awesome Splatterhouse screen?
What is John Cena doing?

Played some SC Conviction co-op with a friend. Shit is mad fun. I run around like a mad man, blowing fuckers away with my shotgun and tossing grenades while he snipes and stays quiet.

It's like 5x better than Army of Two ever was. Well worth the $2 we paid for 2 copies. :bouncy:

I like old videogames. I'm not going to discuss anything that goes against CAG's rules.

I didn't really notice the tearing too much. It was there but it wasn't awful. I'd probably have to make it look significantly worse to get better performance on my PC so 360 it is.

I can deal with tearing to keep a framerate up. Something has to give.

There's compromises made in all games. Call of Duty sacrifices AI, resolution, and texture quality to get rid of tearing and frame drops.

I bet those companies have long ago done focus testing to see what people notice the most. I usually have to point screen tearing out to people. I wonder if that is the one that typically is noticed the least by the general public (who are mostly idiots who bought a $1000 TV and then hooked their basic cable and DVD player with RCA jacks to it)

And yes I know the PC gaming master race can run everything at 1080p with 16x MSAA and Vsync Locked at 120 FPS but I'm not talking about the infinite ceiling of PC gaming.

Yeah the digital foundry videos showed pretty consistent tearing on both versions, but less so on the 360.

Realisically i'm going to have to drop the settings a lot to get any better performance out of my PC so I'll stick with console if I get that game.

The difference here doesn't look to be so much of an issue, as it's clear that both games have issues in sustaining 30FPS based on the sampler code. In like-for-like areas we can see that the Xbox 360 code has fewer torn frames, but in crucial gameplay areas the game performs at a similar level.
It was Assassins Creed 1 on PS3 bad.
Probably third or second worst game I've played in that respect this gen.
I played through AC on PS3 and never noticed a single tear. This was after the last patch though, so I don't know if that fixed anything.

Games I noticed extreme tearing in: Darksiders (360) and Bayonetta (360)

Darksiders was so noticeable I almost quit.
Bayonetta was only in certain parts, but it was outright ridiculous.

I always liked the opposite, when people would have a 360 and PS3 hooked up composite video to an old ass TV. At least get a PC monitor or something, they aren't that much. You miss out on so much graphically by playing in 480i.

And gaming PCs cost like $3000, bro. Plus you don't get that big comfy couch.

I'm on Fang's eidolon battle, or whatever they are called in FFXIII. Never went back to it. I might someday. I just fucking hate having to deal with those battles.

I definitely played it pre-patch. I'll try again in the future. I'm just very sensitive to it and take it when it's minimal. When it's excessive it makes me queasy.

The tearing in the Mafia II demo for PS3 was pretty bad. I'd get it for PC, when it goes on super sale on Steam though.

That's my plan.
My 11" laptop can't max it out or anything but at least it'll look better than ps3/360 and no tearing at all.

The one for Vanille was worse -- the one for Fang isn't bad if you use the right setup. I had trouble at first, then checked my strategy and wrecked it... Heconteireluksdfj or whatever thought? That dude was a prick.

Broly or Panzer -- anyone who has treasure hunter in FF13 -- do I need to keep an item once I have it? I'm so fricken gunshy about screwing up that trophy... but I could really use some cash from selling all this extra crap I never equip.

I didn't say they cost that much but getting similar performance out of a PC would cost much more than either of the consoles.

If you already have a badass PC there's no question. If you don't, well it's more of a toss up.

 jer's still riding that beat up ol' pony of having to write a dissertation every time he decides to buy something on 360 instead of PS3 or PC?

damn, son.

wtf? Apparently there is a Scott Pilgrim app for the android... but it's not available in the US. I guess I'll actually have to buy the comics.

lol I was joking. $3000 would build an insane PC. :hot:

And agreed.
What?
Mid-end PCs from 3 years ago were already ahead of consoles.
A low spec PC upgrade now could play it better.
Amen.

That's the video that made me like it. Like Seaman but with more narrative. Looks extremely early though.

Sorry there's no guns DKBear.
Would you say P3P is worth getting if you've played very little P3?
I definitely think so. I played through more of P3P than I ever did with Persona 3. But then again, I am playing as the female MC so it's like a whole new experience. Persona 3 in general is easily one of my favorite RPG's ever, it has a lot to offer.

No, but it makes it easier.

I almost screwed that one up and was close to tears. :'(

Ahh...miss that game. I want to pick it up for cheap on PS3 since I already 1000/1000'd it.

Should I bother with any of the DLC quests in Fallout 3 before beating the game? Or is there a certain level that I should start checking them out? I'm only level 6 right now, so I just want to make sure I don't go in under or overleveled for them.

doesn't the game scale so it doesn't matter what level you're at?

I did them after...but i found the game to be pretty much broken after the first couple hours anyway.

I wasn't going to do any of them now. I just wanted to know if I should do them before finishing the game or not since I'm not sure if there's a recommended level for taking them on.
Oblivion scales, F3 doesn't.
I think it still does have a form of level scaling, but it isn't as blatant as Oblivion.

I'm already at the end of the game -- I have a checklist of things I already have...
I suppose I could start selling soon. I know some items I no longer have already because they're evolved to the max... just figuring if I evolve the weapons I know I'm not going to keep then sell as soon as they hit tier 2, it will net me some cash and it will clean out my inventory as well.
You'll get demolished at level 6. Best to stay away.
Mothership Zeta was kind of a bitch, even at level 28 or whatever it was.
Point Lookout was no joke either.

I'll have to pick it up when it gets cheap then. :)

I borrowed my friend's 4850. Starcraft 2 is pretty on ultra in 1080p.

so check this out, i miss the bus today by like 30 seconds so i'm walking. cross this busy ass intersection and bam -- iPod touch laying on the sidewalk.

asked the women ahead me and she had no idea wtf i was talking about (of course i didn't ask if she dropped a touch specifically). anyways, i can just reboot this to clean the thing and get rid of the keylock right (provided i dont find an owner)?

lol Oblivion scaling was ridiculous. Fighting marauders covered in glass, daedric, or ebony armor all day was annoying.

Put that touch into Restore/DFU mode and freshly put on 4.0.1 fw if you want to jailbreak. 4.0.2 if you don't care.

Actually, depends which gen Touch it is.

Whenever you're level 12 you can take on Operation Anchorage, you should do that as soon as you ccan because you get the great Power Armor, then Mothership Zeta/The Pitt/Broken Steel can be done at level 20 and up.

I'm level 23 and got my ass absolutely raped yesterday when starting Point Lookout, so I'd advise you to stay away from that until level 30 or until you get bored. Also, The Pitt is absolute shit. Make a duplicate save before you go into it just incase it's too glitchy to play so you can go back and do something that's actually fun.
Nope, Fallout 3 doesn't scale. Get to leveling son!
It doesn't? I thought it did.

I bought Sonic's All-Star Racing at Best Buy. It took me a good 5 minutes to find it, someone must've hid it. I haven't played it yet because I've sparingly been playing Lara Croft. I'm not really a fan of the two tricky action sequences I've come across so far, but overall it seems pretty solid.

It seems the Whiskey Media crew will be some all day long podcast on Sep 9th. That should be fun for a while.

I'd say that you should level up a little bit and play them before finishing the game. If you wait too long those quests become way too easy to complete. But I would definitely hold off on Broken Steel until you hit the cap. The 3 new enemies it brings in are pretty brutal....

Also, Fallout 3 does scale. The kind of enemies you will encounter completely depends on your level. For example you would not meet the albino radscorpion until you hit the 20's.
I remember destroying wasteland enemies in a few hits during the Fallout 3 endgame.
I do as well... at least until the Broken Steel stuff.

I remember running into two Deathclaws when I was around level 5. I bailed on those fucks as fast as possible. They chased me almost the whole way back to Megaton.

So it's 20.00 in store? I thought it was online only (or in store pickup).
