It's not even restore. It's that the 3.56 version 2 firmware will still NOT let you format a clean HDD.
I'm going to have to fix it with my nerdtacular linux skills when I can afford to shut my work laptop down so I can boot ubuntu off a flash drive.

Before the old Amazon Mario All stars thread was shut down, there was a guy legit saying he pays for his house and bills all by flipping games. I shit you not, he claimed to pull in 2,000.00 a month flipping. Of course the other morons in the thread jumped to his aid when I called him out. He was only able to explain like...150.00 worth of flips. :rofl:

I do know someone on CAG who does legit flipping.
I'm talking going into stores and walking out with bags and bags of stuff (I've seen them and helped sometimes). He knows the values for everything, it's crazy which games are actually a bit rare this gen.
$2k a month? Nah but I'm sure he gets a few thou a year extra because of it.

the only thing that held me back was that im getting a new gaming pc soon for around $1k

Finally. Ubuntu live cd is finally booted and the drive copy is going.
Now to wait for it to be done so I can format it inside the PS3 and then to wait for the restore to complete.

In short, fuck you Sony. You can't even patch your fuckup correctly.
 
Playin' some Mahvel and working on a legal brief on the side. I've actually gotten a lot more work done on the brief than I expected to today. Which is definitely going to be helpful.

Still trying to figure out who the hell to use as my 3rd character in Marvel. Tried Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Storm, and Trish, but wasn't really feelin' any of them after an admittedly far-too-brief time trying them out. Might try Wolverine next.

Wolverine is pretty beastly.
Who are you using for your first two -- I know you're a Dante guy like the rest of us, but you were alternating Ryu/Sentinel and a few others that night.

I'm thinking of going back and changing my x23 team to use Wesker instead. Not sure though... haven't got to spend much time with it today due to the ps3 brain transplant. I kind of wanted to use Deadpool or Taskmaster at one point. Or Magneto. But I'm like you, I can't find anyone who clicks the way that Dante/Dormammu did. That said, I do really like Akuma/Morrigan and will continue to use them as well.

Right now I'm hoping somehow, someway that Strider comes back early in the DLC.

Speaking of missing characters, Capcom is now officially Trollcom. If anyone doesn't believe me, go check out Tron Bonne's ending. ^_^

I'm currently only missing Wesker, Ryu, Chun, Viper from the Capcom side... but I've seen them all except Viper.

I'm missing a bunch of the Marvel ones though.. I'll probably try to power through them soon.

So far I think I like Hulk's best.

My favorites were Chris, Shulk, Iron Man, Hsien-Ko, and Dante. I can't really remember many of them too well, but those really stood out to me.

Also, I say we throw in DLC hopes! I WANT GENIS VELL! I'd settle for Silver Surfer, but I'd love Genis.

I tried arcade today and I couldn't beat Galactus; I seriously tried 5-6 times and couldn't do it. :cry:

I watched the video that I think Frosty posted, but I wasn't doing very well with high jumps and even when I did do one he would hit me with a downward strike. Also I die instantly when he gets low on health and unleashes his laser hell I have no clue what to do there other than die.
 
just got back from a little meetup with some really good chicago players. held my own as sakura, did even better after a few beers.

MvC3 was going too but I only watched -- game looks nuts

He did the hulk 1 hyper team kill with xfc in the gif I posted earlier. He also found Akuma's infinite. Does 160 hits on full life sentinel and leaves you with 5 bars, confirmed to work on 12 characters or so (hitbox differences, of course).

He says it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Akuma's j. tatsu loop is the first true infinite discovered in MvC3. It doesn't use meter, or X-factor and can be performed indefinitely against about 12 characters. In training mode it reaches 999-hits vs the on-point character, in a real match gets around 160-hits vs a full health Sent. It wastes quite a lot of time after damage scaling kicks in and pretty much guarantees 5 stocks at character KO.

UPDATE: To anyone who thinks this stuff is broken. You've seen nothing yet. Absolutely nothing. I mean, I can't properly convey how little you've seen yet, seriously. Nothing at all.

I think my system restore ate part of my MvC3 data. I can't tell if I'm actually on my way to the next rank in ranked. I'm like 13-1 now.
But my card keeps saying I'm whatever for the current match...
That's really odd. :(

Did you try the hold the power button thing until it beeps?

Are you connecting it to the tv a different way than you were on your other tv?

I still like it although some ranked matches is annoying. The people that use Sentinel and use x-factor. I need to figure out a way to beat that shit. :cry:
