Man, beating people online in MvC3 is so satisfying.

I haven't gotten past mission 3 in any of the missions. I can't figure out what they mean by the cancel into a special move. I understand the aspect of cancelling L->M->H->special, but apparently I don't have the ability to do it correctly.
It's all in the timing. If you do it too quick or too slow, you miss the opening.
the best example of cancelling that comes to mind that I think is good practice for specials is Ryu's hadoken > shinku shoryuken -- I know it sounds bad, but it's a really good one to practice... because the qcf leaves you in the starting position for the srk motion.

Some of the timing really sucks though and it just takes practice. Like Ryu's f.H roundhouse into hadoken. I can't do it consistently yet.

Another good one to practice is Ryu's d.H into hadoken, since you're, again, already in the starting position for a qcf motion.
Damnit Panzer your gonna make me want to buy it again, and I'm fairly sure I could still get the cards if I ordered from Amazon because they usually ship out pre-order stuff with the game until they run out (I was so happy when I got the Etrian Odyssey III art book because of this).
Well, I know you're not a fan of SRPGs, and this has a very strong FFT feel to it except with tons more customization and options to keep track of, along with much larger scaled battles.

I'm only a couple hours in but it plays like a dream (I also did the install so everything is super quick). I love the medieval war drama that Square does with some of their games, and this even has branching story paths based on your decisions which really surprised me as I've never played a Tactics Ogre before. The dialogue is so well written, just like the FFT remake.

So many classes and skills, this game is the shit.
First, I'm not in the mood to play ME2 so soon after finishing the first and am busy with the new releases that are coming out over the next few weeks, so I can easily wait to see what happens. Second, they're going to have more DLC coming, so there's no reason to pay ~$50 for a makeshift GOTY edition just yet and then have to shell out more later.
ME2 feels so disconnected from the universe you could probably skip it

Or just watch the last few cutscenes on youtube because that's about all there is to it.

Yeah I really felt ME2 was a pretty bad sequel. They took everything I enjoyed out of the first and made it more into a run-of-the-mill third person shooter with a lot less to do. Hopefully the third doesn't turn out to be as bad.

Finally just got to open my fight stick up as I went with some friends out for a bit. Thankfully the connector on the stick just disconnected so I reconnected it and it works again. Sigh of relief for now. Will probably be on tomorrow on MvC3 around 11pm est after I get off of work.

It was a really good action-RPG, recruiting people and shooting stuff was great. It's just during it all you're like, "why is the title Mass Effect?"

I don't really get that.

I thought ME2 was better than ME1 in every way. ME1 didn't really feel like a finished game and the shooting mechanics were pretty sub-par. 7/10 game to me.

What's so bad about ME2 that I should skip it?

Is MVC3 worth getting now or wait till price cut? I've moved away from all my gamer friends so the draw of playing with them is gone... soloed.
There's always online.

And Uraizen was right. So far I've only played MvC3 for one day :bomb:
I've played it every day so far. Around 7 hours total in 3 days. I've got around 46 percent of the trophies. :whistle2:#

Haha  this is very true, and one of the reasons I've been able to resist. But, I own and played tons of the GBA Tactics Ogre, really loved that game (more than FFT:A but never beat it) so I'm fairly sure I'd enjoy it (to me the GBA one felt like a slightly simplified FFT which I liked). I also don't remember ever grinding in the GBA one or totally ridiculous bosses, although again I didn't beat the game, and my memory may not be great since the last time I played the GBA game was like 2002 or 2003 so like 8 or 9 years ago.

Wait, what was I right about?
People said they cried during Toy Story 3. Always found that insane.
Time for me to act cool . (So nobody will suspect .)
People said they cried during Toy Story 3. Always found that insane.
How old are you? Because I totally cried, Toy Story was my favorite movie as a kid and when TS3 came out I was just out of my first year in college so the whole moving on from childhood thing really hit me. I think most of the people who cried at it cried because of that or because of how attached they were to the characters from growing up with them, and how they the viewer were
saying goodbye to them just like Andy was.
The only movie I've ever cried at.

I agree, and I loved ME1. Except for the plot, ME2 surpasses ME1 in every way.

Nothing, it's an excellent game.
sorry jman not all of us had our emotions fucked out of us by our uncle at age 7

That makes no sense, but I guess I asked for that. My uncle never touched me like that... Well at least not from what I remember...
thought about playing along and making up some nasty story.

I'm pretty sure I would have remembered that... I always wanted to know how you came up with your user name, but I doubt you'll give me a serious answer.

Prank called this Chicago attorney, The Cannon.

cannon-header.jpg

I just left a message because he's not in the office at 12:41AM. Here's the transcript:
"Yo, the cannon. My name is Jonnathan the Terrel. Yo listen, the other night Jimmy Dragon tried and run me down in his auto when we was leavin the club and im scared as hell. He told me if I went to the cops he would leave tread marks on my face and all over my back. He’s this loan shark and he knows my pregnant girlfriend cuz its his 15 year ol sister. Call me back my number is 8479227821 that is if im still here tomorrow cuz there’s I swear like snipers waitin in my bushes and Im really want to go to wendys. CALL ME."
Tell me you recorded that!
No, but I plan to do it again with some other attorneys offices. PETER FRANCIS GERACI, YOU'RE NEXT.
You doin it tonight?

I gotta hear it.
I was trying to call distgfx, because I actually have his number, but he hasn't picked up. I was going to tell him to join in on the fun on skype, but ended up swearing at him, asking why the hell the fucking abercrombie and fitch customer service people won't pick up. I'll have him record it after he gets it.

I used to join the huge ventrilo channels where killmyself would do calls live. Shit was 100x funnier than any of the calls that were actually recorded and put on the web.

Oh God. Oh holy shit.

So I prank called RelentlessRolento, and in a fake-ass Mexican accent was like "is this Samuel Ivan Lopez de Victoria III?" He was like "yeah." And I was like "This is your cousin, Emilio!" And he was like "uhhhh." Then I was like "you don't remember me? It's been a long time. I moved down to puerto rico like 4 or 5 years ago. You still living in Miami?"

And we continued this conversation for another minute before I lost it.

So you're the fucker who woke me up and called me like... 10 times! You used a different number to call me.

dude, record the message I left and post it.

Also, did you really not know it was me?
Anyone playing Marvel? :)
I was going to, but then I realized I'd have to get up and put the disc in.

That's just too much work.
