How to deal with IM/DP projectile spam from full screen:
(1) CapAm: jumping qcf.l to do down-forward shield throw. You should be able to jump straight up, but if not, jump up towards and it should hit. Once it hits, you can rush toward with the flip (s+l). If you can't get a hit in, rinse, repeat until you close the distance. You can also call in your IM unibeam assist whlie they're recovering from the shield throw hit to give you more time to close the gap and rush in. Do not use S+l to do flip towards as you will eat a ton of damage... however, if they're on the ground, you can use this instead of dash to cover more distance quicker.
(2) IM: while they're getting ready to spam another projectile, use the proton cannon if you have meter, you'll catch them and knock them on their ass. otherwise, your best bet is flight mode and say high and rush to where they are to close the gap. you can use the srk.attack motion to drop smartbombs if necessary. Also, IM has air dash, so jump and air dash toward them, blocking as you come down. Once you close the gap, rushdown as necessary.
(3)Skrull: This is the guy you want. You can fuck them up if they try that shit with Skrull. First off, you can use srk with l or h to rocket slam into either side of the screen. If you have 3 bars and you really want them to choke on it, you can use his level 3 super (srk + 2 attack)... it has invincible startup, I think, and it arcs up and over from fullscreen. I was able to connect it pretty easily and consistently from full screen. Better than all that though is using the "BnB" (hate that term, btw) combo you can learn in the early stages of Skull's missions. Basically, if you jump and air dash with him (only CapAm can't of the three you had) and block when you come down, you can buffer the command grab during blockstun and it has some damn good reach. So ideally, with 1 bar of meter, you can do jump > air dash > block on landing > hcb.m (command grab) > rapid l (ground tenderizer) > qcf.2attack. When you land, you'll be right next to them and can continue to attack them on wakeup. (Or you can try another OTG attack like l.tenderizer to bounce them up and continue to make them pay.)

wow thanks. I'll have to try those tactics out. Mostly I wasn't sure how to close the distance, I kept on trying to just dash->crouch->block, but that didn't get me too far.

The first 160 are easy, it's the last 160 that are a painful.

I think I have 200+ missions done, j-man is right. After 160 is when they all start getting nuts. When you start adding ground bounce/crossovers/etc, then it gets real hectic.
Spiderman is a dick. I have 3/10 on him. Some of the timings are nuts.
Hulk is probably the easiest that I can remember. I think I have 8/10 or so done with him and I don't even play him.
 
Any tips to beat the game on very hard? Something I can cheez the computer with? ;)

I still haven't played arcade mode (or much of mission or training mode) because I keep getting called away to play games with the GGT haha. :lol: But I'll save that video in case I do have troubles when I actually do some single player.

No, I managed to talk myself out of getting it for pre-order for the tarot cards; but I'll probably try to pick it up when it drops in price; or maybe in a month or two. I don't really ever beat SRPGs but I really liked the Tactics Ogre game on the GBA (maybe even more than FF Tactics Advance, but I didn't beat either) so I'm still interested in it.

I've done it once.
Very Hard, Highest Damage, 30 seconds.
Dante, Dormammu, Akuma.
I try to turtle and just take occasional openings to build meter, then I'd pull akuma out and x-factor followed by raging demon. it does so much damage like that that one of their people should die if you connect. by that point, 30 seconds is up and you should have all 3 left and they only have 2, so you usually win.
The galactus fight doesn't scale with difficultly/damage it seems. They were easy compared to the 6 stages I had to go through to get to him.

I think I'll try to keep up my trend of not buying many games. Looking at releases between now and the summer...

Must buys are Portal 2 and LA Noire.

Maybes are Dragon Age (depending on demo) and Red Faction (loved the last one).

Also, by cutting back my spending last month (in everything in life) I saved 450.00.
 
I'm buying too many games right now even though I shouldn't be.

I'm getting KZ3, Yakuza 4, both Pokemon games (only one is for me), and maybe DA2.
 
I am really glad that Portal 2 is the only game in April that I want at the moment. There are just too many games in February/March this year that I want. I will need time to catch up on them all.
 
The fall is going to be a shit show...although I know somethings gonna get pushed back.

If not...Halo remake, Mass Effect 3, Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed 3, Uncharted 3 all around the same time? Good god.

Yeah that was some good matches. I still wanna play a few other people. Mostly Cheksa/frost/tmk. Since TMK says he is getting it now. I knew he would eventually give in. Its the same way for me. It plays really well with distgfx,but with someone in ca it isn't as great. It usually gives me that weird button delay. Same in SSFIV.

Got my copy today and played through arcade mode once. Played a ranked online match but as soon as my opponent started to lose all he did was spam projectiles.. Should be on tonight to play with you guys.
 
Amazon is now giving 20.00 with Bulletstorm. Canceled my order and placed it again. It's pretty dumb how they dont automatically upgrade you.

You should get it at release. It's a series worth supporting IMO.

Haha if I see you on I'll send you a message I'll probably be playing off and on tonight and for sure a bunch this weekend. Do you just do a 1v1 lobby or is there another way to setup matches between just one other person?

Also, be forewarned that you will dominate the hell out of me. I think my record from all the GGT lobby matches which is all I've played is probably something like 3-4 wins and 30 loses (and one of those wins was against Frosty when he wasn't trying very hard and another was against super TWISTED Chac). I need to do some mission and training mode and actually learn a bit more how to play the game when someone isn't attacking me.
