GGT 84 Bought Killzone 3 And Regrets It Like Last Night :(
Mortal Kombat now comes with a 10.00 GC at Amazon and is only 56.99.

I ordered one before they raise the price to 59.99, not sure if I'll keep the order or not, I feel like I always get screwed over by MK.
Well, this MK looks like the best chance we have at a good MK again.
But what is it that makes the single player good? You constantly saying the game is great (and only that the game is great) only serves to convince me that the game is doing the job of luring mainstream sheep in because everyone is saying "the game is great" not because it actually is.

Because it's something different in a sea of military shooters? Because you can tackle encounters in a variety of ways? It's fun to set up new skill shots?

I dunno.
Seanr pretty much hit the nail on the head. I like it because it's fun and I've never played a shooter like it. I love all the mechanics they gave you to kill your enemies and how you're graded based on style. The more you style, the more points you get and the more points you get, the quicker you upgrade. So yea, my argument is "It's fun and funny."
So uhh yeah

any you guys got some of those club nintendo codes
You should have asked me when I actually had Wii games.
Looks like I'm staying behind tonight, GGT. What's up? Ya'll playing that shitty Bullet Storm?
Panzyfaust ain't got no taste neither

I've played FPS my entire life, it is my go to genre. Bulletstorm is nothing special. I'll spend $60 on a game that doesn't give you a demo that purposely tries to be as shitty as possible.

If you had an ounce of fun in that demo you have to be younger than 14.
If you had an ounce of fun in that demo you have to be younger than 14.
Oooooh, NOW I get it, you should have said this first. You already dismissed it for all the wrong reasons, tsk.

Okay. So I sat down to play Bulletstorm this afternoon, and I have finished Bulletstorm now. I played it in one sitting. It's the best FPS in a long damn time. It's not full of bullshit about helping your squadmates or being in the army or some boring ass shit like that. fuck that. No, it's about murdering people and enjoying it. And there's something glorious about that. I haven't played Killzone 3, but I can guarantee Bulletstorm's way better than that... if only because it's not totally gay.

Bulletstorm is basically Serious Sam using the Unreal 3 Engine with a point chase mechanic on it.

That is a very basic generalization of it. Not saying it is bad, just don't need another game right now.

I get the feeling a lot of people will miss the point.

Kids are amused by shitty games? When was this new? I wasn't turned off by the testosterone infused theme, if that's what you're assuming. I was turned off when it became apparent it was a shitty game.

Gunplay feels weak in a game that advertises extreme kill satisfaction. I guess it could be a mildly enjoyable experience if you're bored out your mind -- so it deserves that much credit.

And for most CAGs, that's all a game needs to be. So I'm the odd one out here.

At least you're having fun, always nice to see fellow gamers having a good time

But Serious Sam is awful!

Bulletstorm is like Mad Max meets Fast and the Furious. Without cars.

Insult people's intelligence and then say you are happy for them.
How long did it take you to finish the game?
5 1/2 to 6 hours.

It's pretty short, but I never felt bored or like the game was becoming repetitive.
True, but I'm seriously jealous. I wish I could enjoy games so easily.
Haha, I'm sure you didn't mean to sound like an elitist when you wrote this.

Hmm... I think you're taking this more seriously than I am, LOL! Psst... btw!

I can't tell if he's being serious or not... :whistle2:k

Even if you're not using them why wouldn't you just leave them in the box? I'd expect 80 percent of wii/ds owners don't know they exist.

Yeah, if I wasn't using them I'd definitely want someone else to be able to use them.
I don't want free gaudy junk around my house.
Some of the rewards can be sold on ebay for a pretty nice price.
I take it to get points or whatever for a nintendo console, you'd have to give the serial number?
That's how it worked back when I registered mine.

I believe so. I think it only works for the Wii and the DSi/XL.

Icebeezy never owned Bulletstorm

Me too.
You have me read well dallow, I have now played the demo, I got 5200 points (apparently that is two stars or something). Both dallow and Urazien (and j-cart with his score that is over 3 times higher) had higher scores than me but frosty has a lower score. The game wasn't totally terrible (i.e. it played mostly fine) but I just didn't really get into it I don't know the whole scoring thing just doesn't get me excited. Also, game seriously needs a jump button I got stuck on stuff and had to wiggle to get unstuck (and not having a jump button in general kind of annoys me in an FPS game). Also the general tone they are going for just isn't funny or interesting to me (I usually find things funny when they aren't supposed to be, this game feels like it is trying way to hard). I think this game just isn't for me.

Well I certainly won't give that up then.

The demo doesn't exactly teach you much either, I had to figure out there was a slide and stuff on my own.
Kind of shocked to hear that. I know ADV "closed" down a while ago but I figured there would still be a lot of copies lying around.
Manga distributed the movies. That's why they're hard to find now.
This is also true because of the gears 3 beta. If I were buying full price, I'd probably go 360 just for that.
Gears sucks, so that wasn't a factor for me.

Bulletstorm is like "The Club" but in FPS mode. I've been playing Killzone 3 ... Its the Best FPS Shooter of the Year. Blockbuster might as well get the racks ready for the B1G1 free so I can pick up Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 for 14.99.

No you obviously hate all that is good in the world.

Even kittens.

seanr you're so cool!

Only need 110 more points. I think you get a post-play survey on all your games, so if thats true I should really only need 80 more.

Lol, I hated The Club so much. I played the demo and was like "God, this is fucking awful." The gunplay was so shoddy and wasn't satisfying at all. The only thing I remember about the full game was that I was sent a review copy for PC. I installed the game, tried to play it, but it wouldn't even start. I tried it on 3 computers, and none of them would run the damn game. I told my managing editor I couldn't review the game because it wouldn't even work, and he was like "oh... okay."

Oh man I played the crap out of The Club demo on XBL.

Resident Evil 5 Versus mode is basically the same thing. Really want someone to make a solid arena shooter/point chase with the likes of RE Mercenaries and The Club. Improve on the sluggish controls and I'll play all day.

It could very well be called The Running MAN!
The demo doesn't exactly teach you much either, I had to figure out there was a slide and stuff on my own.
Well there was a video that basically showed you how to do everything (including the two types of kicks and the lasso) so I felt like I understood a fair amount of it although I was hell a confused on how the guns worked.

As I said in my stealth edit the plot just doesn't seem funny to me because I tend to find things the funniest when they aren't supposed to be; and so in my eyes this game from the short intro the demo gives made it feel like they were trying too hard to be funny (I actually typically avoid comedy movies for this same reason, because a lot of them feel like they are just trying way to hard to be over the top funny without anything else to pad it out and actually build up to something funny, kind of why I like Improv a whole lot more than stand-up). And in a single player FPS game I'm usually looking to the plot to keep me interested, it seems like the point system is supposed to be the interesting part of this game but I've never really cared about high scores, just finishing a game is enough for me, so it isn't really drawing me in.
