Capcom won't retire RE, they aren't stupid. Look at their franchises currently.
Resident Evil: The only series they've milked more than the Street Fighter series. Releases and rereleases galore. That being said, I'm totally ready for RE4/CV HD, gimme REmake in HD next. I'd buy RE2 and 3 in HD also, redo the whole set. Yes I am part of the problem.
Bionic Commando: burnt to the ground.
Street Fighter: Milking that shit like they always have. AE might be a disc release.
Marvel: MvC3 DLC rape continues, I wouldn't be surprised to see a rerelease of this either. Super MvC3? I wouldn't bat an eye.
Devil May Cry: See DmC. Ugh. I liked DMC4 a lot, and I'd totally be up for DMC 1-3 HD. Since RE4/CV HD is coming, you know they will do it, probably around DmC's release to generate hype.
Onimusha: I'd love to see a new one, but not farmed out to some western dev. I'd also take Onimusha 1,2,3 HD releases. Especially 3, love that game. Never played the 4th one.
Dead Rising: DR1 was amusing when there was nothing out to play. DR2 is definitely a better game. No clue how well it sold.
Dark Void: lol
Darkstalkers: Pretty much dead, though I'd like to see it come back. Love Vampire Savior.
If I spent more time on this, I could be more in-depth, but I got burgers to grill.
With you on Darkstalkers.
I loved Onimusha 1.
AE as a disc release would make no sense after not doing a disc release for RE4/RECVX HD. Wouldn't buy it. But if it's DLC rape? I'm part of the problem. Probably twice.
Same with MvC3, though nothing past the release of the two "unfinished" characters has been announced.
As far as the DMC series?

yeah, HD remakes of 1-3, please. But they shouldn't put it anywhere near DmC. They can't even figure out if the turd NT is brewing is a reboot or a prequel.
The only reason I noted it was because they had someone high up saying that a lot of the current franchises were going to be shelved because they didn't want to pull an Activision or EA with the RB/CoD levels of burnout/stagnation... so it's surprising to see that immediately after this, they have 2 RE games on 3DS, 2 RE HD remakes on PSN/XBLA and some entirely new spinoff coming.
