GGT88 got the knife and kept stabbing and stabbing until finally Joel's wife was dead
I picked up the series late with THPS3 and moved to THPS4 for "bigger/badder/more".
I gave it up after Underground.
I played a bit of THPS1 enjoyed it. Then I got into THPS2 and really liked that game and played it fair amount, even got the fairly hard to play isometric THPS2 for GBA. Then THPS3 came out and it really perfected being able to chain almost every move in the game together combined with some fairly sweet levels and an awesome soundtrack.

No game after THPS3 added anything meaningful to the general gameplay. I mean sure THPS4 added an open world but that didn't really change the main core focus of the game, namely the skateboarding and trick system. From there you had all the Underground games which were much of the same (so I skipped all of them). I played THPS Project 8 which supposedly added a new mode for tricks, but overall it felt fairly pointless to me since it was easy to score insane amounts just using the old system and so the game felt like the same thing they'd been pumping out since THPS4. And, I wasn't going to touch Ride with a 20 foot pole.

I started with THPS1 and kept up with the series till we got to American Wasteland, then I stopped playing. I enjoyed the series a lot up until that point.
I agree, I haven't played anything that came out on the current gen consoles. everything I played was on PS1/Gamecube.
THPS4 was so bad (like the Power Glove) on the Gamecube, I hated using the triggers to do the reverts with that controller because it forced you to push them in all the way; felt so much more natural on a PS2 controller since you weren't pushing something down an inch.

PS2 all the way, all day every day. GCN was for Nintendo games.

Dude, Brolletstorm is $40 today only at amazon.
Distgfx, was there any reason to NOT buy the PS3 version if I don't care about getting into the Gears 3 beta?

Yeah, it sucks.

Though I guess "PS3 version" gave that away.

My guess is the way he was talking about that game, unless you really don't like the PS3 controller for shooters you're probably fine to get it for PS3, haha.

No, it's a UE3 game, so it's going to have the usual differences between PS3 and 360. If you're going to get a gimped version (compared to PC), it might as well be on the console you want it for.

I should have took advantage of the xbox live free weekend. Then again I don't really have anything on 360 that I was dying to play online so I didn't get on at all.

Bulletstorm being 40 at amazon. I would buy that if I had 40. :whistle2:#

Damn, Bulletstorm for $40 is tempting. But I've got plenty to play now and shouldn't spend the cash since I plan on ordering an iPad 2 Friday. I need to wait on some things and use up some Goozex points anyway. Have like 4,000 built up from trading things but not receiving anything in a few months.

I liked that, actually, but that's just my major preference for the GCN controller. The cube and the 360 controllers are my favorites ever.

Edit: fuck, it is so hard to stay strong and not order Bulletstorm.

I liked the GCN controller as well (except the d-pad, that thing was more useless than the 360 d-pad, like I have small hands and I still typically accidently hit more than one direction on that tiny little thing); it's just I felt like it didn't work right for THPS. For the games that were designed for the GCN it was perfect though.

Also I think my copy of Pokemon might be getting here today. :bouncy:
Also I think my copy of Pokemon might be getting here today. :bouncy:
It's here. :hot:

Can't play till after work. :cold:

Hm, Bulletstorm for $28 might be a good enough price for me...but the lack of online multiplayer is big minus. I dunno, I may still skip it for now.

Awesome, thanks to CTZ it looks like I'll be checking out the Darkness 2 demo at PAX East. I have no idea if there is a public demo or not.
THPS3 >>> Rest of that series.

Good lord it got retarded in later games.
I thought THUG 2 wasn't bad, but a lot of the games after 3 stunk big time. I actually borrowed American Wasteland from a friend because I hadn't played any of the games in a while, and he let me, with a smile on his face that bothered me until I realized what a huge pantload AW was.

I hated the Gamecube controller for having a GBA dpad. Couldn't use the analog for the life of me in Tony Hawk games, so I always stuck with the PS2 versions.

I played a ton of video games this weekends with my buddies from college. I've forgotten how much more fun it is playing in the same room as people.

The GCN d-pad was great for certain types of games. Ikaruga worked well with it (especially compared to the 360 d-pad).

Yeah, it's pretty ill. Not too many of my friends are really into gaming, though, so it never happens. Or at least, rarely.

So I think amazon gave me both a $5 and a $10 promotional credit for buying Pokemon. That means I essentially got the game for $20. Used 'em both (plus some trade in credit) on Bulletstorm.

finding a new computer chair is tough. Finding a new monitor was tough. Finding a new desk was tough. Why is it tough to find things that are ill?
finding a new computer chair is tough. Finding a new monitor was tough. Finding a new desk was tough. Why is it tough to find things that are ill?
Because you buy expensive things.
Why is it tough to find things that are ill?
Maybe you should check the hospital.

Wackity schmackity doooooo
Because you buy expensive things.
no. The monitor was cheap. It's ill, but cheap. The desk is ill, and would've been cheap if I only bought one. But in the grand scheme of things, it's still cheap. I'm not actually buying that sick ass lamp unless I can get my parents to buy me it out of pity for me. Which I dunno if it'll work or not.

Okay, I actually laughed out loud. It doesn't take much to compel my funny bone!

I need to buy a bunch of shit. After dropping $80 on a car battery, I also need. . .

- Drumsticks and drumheads

- Valve gasket for Beast Camry

- New office chair

- 6800uf 50v capacitors for Kenwood KA-3500 recap

- Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Shitty Netcode Edition and Brolletstorm PC Edition

- Booze

I need a job.

RecklessRoberto just robs liquor stores, takes the money and the booze. Bro is so smart.
I think I'll buy Dragon Age II tomorrow.

Not because I want to have it day one, but because I need to.
But they will release DAII GOTY eventually.
But they will release DAII GOTY eventually.
Probably, but it doesn't really matter to me. I bought DA1 and didn't get the ultimate or whatever.

Also if you google Dragon Age 2 review the review I blogged is on the first page. That made me laugh.
Beast Camry...I like that.
It is a beast. Thing's a tank. It just leaks a bit of oil because the valve cover gasket is old and shitty. Might need some other seals, but probably nothing too crazy. All this shit isn't expensive, just a pain in the ass to do.

180,000 miles and I'll get it to 250,000 minimum.

So, I just had the most fucked up day ever. I went to the doctor for my ear because I ran out of pain medication and while they were doing the normal checking my weight/blood pressure stuff, they found out my blood pressure fucking skyrocketed since I was there on Wednesday and was actually so high that they were freaking out thinking I was going to go into a stroke. The doctor came in and ordered a bunch of tests on me (blood, urine, shit like that) and told me I'm going to have to come in every day till Friday to get my blood pressure checked and take lots of the blood pressure lowering pills.

What's crazy is I feel completely fine except for my ear.
Amazon screwed me twice with EA games now.

I'm waiting for DA to hit 40.00 in a week like Dead Space and Bulletstorm.
Didn't Bulletstorm come with a $20 credit though at launch? So that was kind of like getting it for $40.
 It's true.

Thanks Chac, I am watching out for salt. Shit's weird, I haven't been eating anything for the last week and a half except two pb sammiches a day (one at night and one in the morning), I went in and got weighed and I've lost 3 pounds since Wednesday, I have no idea what made my blood pressure skyrocket so suddenly.

lotta stress? Nothing makes my blood boil more than talking to my fiancee.

Nah, just playin'. I'm single and stress free!

I don't know about your particular situation. I only make baseless judgments.

Joel you should really consider getting better. I don't approve of this ongoing sickness.

And if you died, you wouldn't have the chance to break it off with your fiancee. That would be very disappointing.

Seriously though mang, I hope you get better soon.

You say you've been watching your salt levels, but have you been playing a lot of MvC3?

It's good though. Now more people will be able to read my fair, knowledgeable, and unbiased review. :p

And sorry to to hear about that Joel. Hope you get better throughout the week.

Of course. I think CAG should probably pay you for the traffic you will bring from everyone searching "Dragon Age 2 Review" in google.

Your review made me lol hard  I wonder how many people have read it now? And thanks, whoknows :D

Hmmm...Just got a $25 off my first purchase coupon from Newegg... I mayget Dead Space 2.

Edit: Hey, which is better? Dead Space 2 or Bulletstorm? Both come out to around the same price with my coupon.

Yeah, get better Joel. :(

Herman Miller Eames Aluminum desk chair is the business.
Preferably a vintage 60s/70s model.

There's lots of similar cheaper versions around though. I'll probably buy the West Elm version.
