I think I've put more time into Diablo 2 than anyother game. It's such a time sinkhole.
As did I. Diablo 2 Hardcore is about the closing thing to a virtual drug. MF Sorc for my item hunts. Were-Druid for my PvM solo runs, and Sword and Shield Barb for my PvP killing.

Funny how an item became the main form of currency, more so than the actually gold currency in the game. The box is by the coolest item, it transcends reality by taking up 4 squares but gives you 16!

Funny you should mention Diablo 2, and then this ad banner just popped up for me on CAG (I guess people are still playing, and buying all their items online, haha):

Also, I too played lots of Diablo 2, although I can't say for certain if it is the game I've played the most as I wasted a lot of time playing MMOs when I was younger, which is probably why I'm so sick and disgusted of them now. Really looking forward to Diablo 3 though, it's really the only PC game I'm interested in.

That's the way CAG ads tend to work, icebuddy. :)

I thought new XBLA games came out on Wednesday -- did they change the day to compete with PSN's Tuesday updates?
The game I put the most time into was almost certainly COD4.
Mine is probably Asheron's Call (I'm thinking this is most likely... man I want some of the time I wasted on that game back ) or possible WoW, but I'm fairly sure it was Asheron's Call.

Brings back some memories (and damn this game looks awful now, I can't believe it's still active):

I'm fairly sure I started around summer of 6th grade and quite before I was done with 8th grade, but I played so much of that game, I hate it so much. I was seriously addicted to it. Now I'm happy that due to that game I can't ever get into another MMO for any extended period of time, I never want to feel like I'm wasting my life like that again. :bomb:

Counter-Strike was where I spent the most time (Diablo 2 is a close 2nd). Use to run CAL-I alot and a few times in CAL-P.

No CS:Sauce for me, 1.6 is the true version. If my internet wasn't running sub

This gen, the longest time I've spent on a game is probably Demon's Souls and/or FFXIII. Well over 100 hours on both. SSF4 might be getting up there.

Not sure other than that...
Hellz yah. Can't wait for Torchlight 2.
Bro, we gonna play that shit, co-op. :bouncy:

lol Beat me to it.

Let's see, games I put the most time into. . .Imma have to think about it. This gen, I have like 130 hours into Oblivion between 360 and PC, 200 hours into SoulCalibur IV (lol I know, but I had people to play it with), like 100 hours into my two Fallout 3 playthroughs, dunno how much Tekken 6 but I'm betting a good amount, decent amount of SFIV and SSFIV even though I don't really care for it, and who knows how much VF5, but that shit was like crack for a while.

If we're going by this gen then it's SFIV, hands down. HDR bored me, MvC2 I was 10 years late to get good at, BBCT was broke, none of my friends play BBCS, etc. So yea, I've put in well over 100+ hours on the original SFIV alone, just for PS3. I played it on PC as well!

If we're going by games that aren't fighters... then probably Gears or Ninja Gaiden 2.

When I was a kid it was a mix of bro nukem, sonic, mortal kombat, street fighter and quake.

It's really depressing to think that if I want a new DMC game (no, not Bayonetta or Ninja Gaiden, DMC), I have to wait for at least 2 DMC games to come out. :(

Because the one by Ninja Theory can't be good. :(

I should just play DMC3 again.

See, that's the thing. If Capcom merely announced HD remakes of those games for $60 even, I'd be breaking my neck to preorder 'em. Give me that and fire Ninja Theory. They don't deserve the work, and Capcom saves a lot of money this way.

I think I missed out on a lot by (1) playing the original DMC3, not the SE, and (2) by playing it so late this gen (on my bc ps3 at the time) ... the graphics weren't that great to begin with, so trying to play on my HDTV upscaled and such... not good.

My most played games would all be in the 60-80 hour range. All from this gen too, don't think I put more than 30-40 hours into a game in prior gens. Maybe some SNES fighting games or sports games that didn't track time I suppose. Otherwise most I can think of are 35-40 or so in Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES and some other RPGS.

The 60-80 hour games this gen are WRPGs like Oblivion, Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3 and online shooters like Call of Duty 4, Halo Reach etc.

PS2 games look gross upscaled unless your TV has a good scaler... :(

Fortunately, I have a plasma :)

Anyway, I've only played through DMC3 once, come to think of it. I've replayed the first few levels a bunch of times, but yeah. And while I have the SE, I've never actually played through it. Maybe I should remedy that problem this week... !

I didn't manage to catch any new pokemon on the way to work, so far I have three though. I did get the running shoes (thank god, you move so slow when walking) and level up a bit more. I wish the first pokemon were cuter though, I like cute pokemon. :D

fuck the Sauce (CS:Source).

Started playing CS at 7.1 beta. MP5 with bunny hop was more imba than OMA w/noobtube in MW2 ( though b-hopping took skill). The gravity effects in the game were running with the Half-Life engine, so recoil was unaffected when in the air. It was patched (CS 1.3), but it still didn't change how freaking godlike everyone was at in CS.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JDgf7dy2EA&feature=related

CS 1.6 Frag Video. Few things to note:
-No Life Regen
-1 life per round
-Much harder to kill in CS, but headshots are easier to get than CoD because of instant kill
-The glitch tricks were acceptable in CS. Ex: scoped sniper fire to pistol swap canceled the scoped zoom faster than regular, but it still took skill.
-Video entirely taken from match play.

/edit: 100 hours into one game is not much (maybe for singleplayer, WoW players win at total hours spent playing). That is roughly 4 days, I use to have multiple CS lan sessions that were full weekend events. I wish I was 12-15 again. Little white kid beasting on fools at a PC cafe, it was fun times till some poor sport stabbed a dude with a screw driver.

I pictured you walking down a sidewalk and random dudes jumping out of bushes and challenging you to battle, and rummaging through grass looking for Pokemon.

I ain't never played Counter Strike, any flavor.

Apparently everyone thinks my morning commute is epic, in the RPG thread when I mentioned playing my DS on the way to work someone pictured me playing my DS while driving a car.

Unfortunately though I take the subway to work and live in the city. So there really aren't any bushes or grass. (I also don't drive a car). Maybe if I were to go to Central Park something like what you described could happen .

You would have enjoyed its simple, yet addictive nature of the game. Much like DotA/HoN noobs need not apply. But if you were willing to roll through the lows, the highs were hours upon hours of fun.

Custom maps= so MUCH AWESOME.

There was one map that sent one time flying through the air like trap shooting. It worked on reaction timing since the pull lever was a random timer. Lots of maps were single weapons only to help learn how the weapons worked. Some of the craziest were "jump' maps. The goal was to get to the top and they were not easy.

God I need a PC, boot up some CS and get shitted on. I am surprised GGT didn't play CS. I thought everyone played that game/was in clan?

I played just a bit of CS, but never really got into it. Certainly never joined a clan or anything.

Yes, I did indeed picture Central Park when I said that. :D

Sounds pretty fun actually. But really, I was more of an Unreal Tournament player, mainly UT2k4. Didn't play much UT99 since I didn't have my own PC for a while. But 2k4 was a blast, tons of custom maps and shit. I still have like 3 GB of them on my HDD.

And while Steam has tempted me with cheap CS:S sales, I haven't bought it since I know I'd just get straight up reamed online. :hot:

I loved me some CS/TFC back in the day. we used to play the shit out of them during my Computer Science class with people(blacks) who had no idea how to play. It made using the Spy that much more fun(especially with FF on).

PAX East only days away~

I'm going to the Rock Band night at the Brattle on Thursday and then Friday has the Retronauts and Giantbomb panels(and a few others I want to see). And sat is the Darkness 2 things and the Irrational Games party.

I played ass-loads of CS back in the day. Ran my own CS server. Good times.

Finally cracked open MvC3 last night. Dante is a lot of fun, but that's a lot of moves to remember. :p

I was there to play UT99, but I didn't have a decent PC for UT2k4. Pulse Rifle was the thing to master, doing that alt fire to primary fire exploding orb trick required some high mouse sensitivity. Played the TFC too. Would be a TF2 fiend if I didn't fry my laptop. I am kind of glad it did or I would have spent a large random amount of money on hats.

Skip the CS:Sauce, it truly is a old game.

As much as pad FPS players think they are the shit, most console FPS games have some mad auto-aim lock on. I've had Blops lock on through walls before.

I picture icebeast strolling through central park trying to catch NY pokemon. The DS= Poke'dex. The more I think about this, the more my inner child wishes that at 10 I could have traveled the world becoming the best pokemon trainer in the world, rather than to go to school.

Some people seem to think that the pad play in Crysis 2 on PC feels better than the kb/m play.

I think the opposite though, having played both the :360: and :pc: versions.

I got a Purrloin, she's super cute. :)

purrloin.jpg

Also, Oshawott is my little gentlemen, since every pokemon I've caught so far has been female.

YES!!!!!!!!! Just finished Spencer's missions. Just needed to slow down with him a bit. Now the only hard part is landing combos consistently. Now I need two more characters that work well with Spencer.

In a strange sense, pokemon is basically dog (animal) fighting with out the betting.

I don't know, trainers are always giving me money after I beat them. :whistle2:k

Also, in this game there is apparently an organization that is seeking to liberate Pokemon. They appear to be the PETA of the pokemon world.

It's really not that bad...

Once you get the moves that are really useful down, there's room to grow, but you'll still have a solid foundation. AIR QCF anything is good, you just need to know what each does (L=divekick, M=chargeable projectile, H=combofinisher). qcb.L is important as a combo extender. SRK.H is anti air, SRK.M is an alternate launcher. Unless you're "stylin" on fools you'll not need to use almost any of the immediate double input moves.

His missions would give you a better understanding of the really important moves, most likely.

I was kind of worried of that, every trainer I've fought that used her she goes down in like 3 hits even when she is the same level as my attacking pokemon. She is still really cute though, and it isn't like I have anyone better to use with my total of 4 pokemon so far, haha.

Yeah, I'm pretty much relying on Pidove, Blitzle and Dewott.

Blitzle is awesome though. Electric Zebras are radical.

Sounds like your a ways further than me, I haven't done the first gym yet.

I'm not that far. Just did the 2nd Gym.

I don't know if I suck or not, but the Gym leaders seem harder in this game than in any of the past ones.

My fast favorite that I recently caught is Lillipup!
n5hhc8.jpg
He's cute and literally looks just like my mom's teacup Yorkie :D

Most of my Pokemon have been dudes, btw. Idk why.. Seems odd now that I think about it.

Edit: And the gyms really seem easier in this game. So do trainers for the most part. I think I've only ran into one battle that gave me trouble, everything else goes down without a problem.
