You got it, that's exactly how i feel about the bare hand challenge. The grabbing don't work if you're near one of the hammer guy. You will automatically grab him instead of the enemies you're facing (weird!). To avoid the problem, just stay clear of the hammer guys. However, it's not a problem when you're near the cyclop, so weird... Also, throwing the body is imprecise too. A lot of time, i see the body thrown through the fat cyclop and it didn't do any damage :whistle2:(
 
I consider Kratos to be one of the worst videogame characters of all time.

The guy is a neanderthal and an asshole. Instead of listening to any reason, he just wants to cut off people's heads and blab out about revenge when he was the one who killed his own family.

The guy is essentially the biggest dick in gaming.

dont forget grabbing a hammer guy that is somehow magically off the edge, so after youre done doing your QTE, you fall to your death.

that challenge almost made me break a controller. i beat it cuz i got lucky and knocked one of the rock dudes and the cyclops off the edge.

He has reasons for doing what he does. That's his character. That's what makes games interesting... where you can play one game as the classic hero (Mario), another as the anti-hero (any GTA character), and yet another as murderous asshole (Kratos).

It's not like Kratos is a real person.:roll:

:lol: i'm so glad to hear i'm not the only one with the problems... yeah, falling off the arena happened to me too. I have to say, i passed it by luck. It seems that the only way to beat it is to bump the big guys off the arena. You just don't have enough time to kill them all! By bare hands, they really meant bare hands, you can't even block and counter (the fleece is taken away too).

You're correct :) But that's the thing, despite all of that and yet, i'm still glued to the story and want to what happened :lol:

It's strange that people actually find Kratos likable, especially he's the one killed everything and he's the one with linear emotion (anger and more anger). I would be shocked to see Kratos smile or laugh (hell, he didn't even make a damn sound when pleasuring the women).

The closest "caring" emotion i got from Kratos was
"No child, there has to be another way!" While hanging onto Pandora from falling into the flame of Olympus.

The anger and suffering are best explained in the PSP's Chain of Olympus. See, people can associate with Kratos because despite all of the mistakes, Kratos was able to stand up and face every single demon in his life. Yes, including himself (remember the part Kratos have to kill the zombie Kratos in GoW I?). I simply think people like Kratos because he's the underdog and despite the difficulties/impossibilities, he gets what he wants. I'm not going to spoil the ending in III, but in part I, we all know that what Kratos want is to end his life, he jumped off the cliff... (if you haven't play part I, it's not a spoiler, since that's the first thing you'll see when start a new game).

And guess what? No, he didn't get it... the gods will not let him die! no, the gods will not take away his torments, the nightmares, there's no redemption/honor/respect/love for Kratos.

You might say that Kratos can kill himself anytime he wants, if that's what he really wants, nobody going to stop him (in part I, he was needed, so Athena spared him)... but after realizing the true meaning of the
Pandora's box
i know why Kratos didn't kill himself and the thought never occurred to him. Now I know why the UE packed that way

See, we all think Zeus is the bad guy, but no... he was
consumed by the black smoke (borrowed from Lost) from the Pandora's box
. It's a corny angle, but that's what happened and that's why
Athena regretted taking the stab for Zeus at the end of II
.

Kratos had the opposite effect...
the white light consumed him, which is HOPE sealed away by Athena, she sort of worried when Zeus only sealed away the bad stuff and that's why she did what she did.

Since Kratos carries that burden (not knowing it) and Zeus turned out the way he is (not knowing it as well), the story continues...

I felt bad for Gaia...
She used Kratos as a pawn, but at the end, she got played, well, at least she can't die.
 
I agree with WrexManor that Kratos is a pretty awful character. The second game is especially guilty of such. The first one tries with his motivation being to forget his memories (even though it's downplayed for the most part as he just wants to kill Ares). The third does a better job even though it ignores it until you get to Pandora.

i have to agree with you on that and thats one of the major things that made me not enjoy this game as much. in the previous games it made sense why he was doing what he was doing and you wanted to see him get his revenge but now in gow3 he did just come off like a complete asshole. there were a number of times i actually said so to myself.

wasnt a fan of
athenas "excuse" for why the Gods were acting how they were. anyone who knows greek mythology knows the gods are just petty beings they dont need to get "infected" by pandors box to do what they do.

in a weird way this kratos wasnt the same as the guy in the previous 2 games.

wasnt a fan of some of his kills in the game either as well as the dialogue which was so very horrible at times.

That line in particular stuck out in my mind, as a HORRIBLY delivered line.
 
About being angry the gods tricked him time and time again, so he has every right to be.
He gave up with Elysium with his daughter to save the gods, and they betrayed him
 
something else that got to me in these games is how man of them mention how kratos did something to him or with them or for them but youve never seen any of it in any of the 3 games ( unless it happened in the psp game). i hope they actually do some kind of prequel or something that shows kratos doing these things because its kind of cheap to just make up stuff like that but never show it or let gamers experience it.

the main thing that sticks out in my mind about this is
atlas mentiong kratos helping the gods catch him (gow2) and helios mentions kratos saving him from atlas ( gow3).
its almost like theyre saying kratos was there during the 1st war with the gods vs the titans but how could he have been? unless atlas was captured later on but i dont think he was.

This was in chain of olympus on the psp, and he killed the hydra for the gods.

I'd have to watch it again, but I remember that line being powerful at the end of GoW2, but lackluster in GoW3.

In some cases this has resulted in difficulty opening chests (holding down R1) or jumping/gliding (holding down X). The problem has occurred randomly in environments where there are multiple Wi-Fi devices within range of the PlayStation 3. It is not an issue with the PS3 system, but an issue with reading data coming from the wireless controller. We take a great deal of pride in the smooth responsiveness of God of War III, therefore I’m pleased to report that we’ve taken appropriate steps to fix this problem. We've released a minor patch today in North America and Europe to address this issue and we will follow up with the same patch early next week for our customers in Japan, Korea, and Asia. well I don't know if this matters but it didn't have any in the meter at all when it first came out.... 5 days after it was 1/4 full and now today makes ten days since release and it's half full... so who knows.. 20 days after release let's see what it looks like?

Because the idea of all who beat it on titan making it go up.. it hasn't moved up gradually it's been in 1/4 increments and only moved twice

I think it goes up when a certain amount of people get the platinum trophy. Spartans stand tall makes perfect sense. I dont think it will go up 1 by 1, but maybe after 5,000 then 10,000. Just an example. I have no idea how many people got platinum. But what will the site show? Maybe it will list all the usernames of people who got the platinum like what rockstar did with their social network. Showing off who got 100% and who did it the fastest.

thanks, gameover and 7th. i really hope it's like GTAIV; i'd really like some sort of freebie. also, the increase by increments does make a lot more sense than having it go up in real time. i guess it really would just be a matter of time before enough people got platinum...

yea this will be my third play through haha

first on normal to see what it was like.. beat it the day it came out.. got it at midnight release..

second was titan .. just finished that last night ..crushed Zeus' ass!!

Have two challenges to finish.. and playing through on easy now because I forgot helius' shield.. and doing the amazed rather than do the bitch on titan haha

Something that does suck though.. when you beat it on titan and you get to use all of your godly possessions on play through.. They fuck you again and disable all trophies if you use those.. SUCKS~! I can see the costumes .. but damn You beat it on Titan I think you earn to use your fucking godly possessions! and be rewarded
 
One trophy away from Platinum... I'm about to be "Amazed"

Those of you who have beaten this on titan and still need trophies to platinum .. definitely pm me .. I have something that will possibly save you a lot of time

It requires completing the game, and the challenges before you even having access to it.

Zeus in Gaia's Heart
on Titan mode. Holy shit! This is the last fight that I need to beat for a Platinum. ALL tips are welcome and encouraged! :whistle2:D

Well first off I recommend using the Electric Cord weapon as it can hit multiple at once. Then, even if there are numerous Zues's (Zues-i?) and the heart glows go beat it as much as possible. And COUNTER COUNTER COUNTER!

I didn't use Rage of Sparta until I was overwhelmed and then even before that I used the Exile Blades' magic ability.
