I've got Dominus, Phantom of Chaos, and Morpheus.. want the last two
Wow, that definitely speed things up... Well, anyway, i have most of the trophies unlocked on EASY. Hmmm, the glitch is too cheesy. For people have the UE, there's a code to unlock the Arena right? I haven't open my UE yet... So, technically, people don't have to beat the game on Titan mode to activate the glitch. Is the glitch patched up? I know there was a patch on Saturday, I thought it was some fixes to wireless controller, since they said people were having problems opening gates/chests etc.
To clear up a few things you do have to beat the game on titan to use (it's not a glitch) the combat arena (after beating the Challenge of Olympus) to start a new game and have maxed out weapons from the start.
Also no this was not patched reason being it's not a glitch.
Amazed was my last trophy to get as well.. so I did the combat thing .. dominated the game in part of one day. And Cha Ching Platinum!
Finally got around to finishing this today.
It's a good thing the production values are high, and the game is good overall 'cause the story turned into utter rubbish towards the end.
I cannot remember the last game I played that had a story worth remembering. If there's one thing this industry is severely lacking is good writers.
That also had a lot do with turning Kratos into the complete er
he was in this game. Sure, he wasn't very likable in the previous games, but they definitely didn't want anybody to feel any remorse for him in this last game.
haha on a video game forum everyone seems to be a qualified author.. criticizing the writers of the video games and all..
This isn't a novel it's a damn video game .. it is what it is.. if you want a superb story line read a damn book.. if you want a badass video game PLAY THE DAMN GOD OF WAR SERIES AND QUIT BITCHING haha Every story has an antagonist and a protagonist they also switch roles in sequels..

Sorry, I'm an engineer, but even I can recognize BS when I see it.
I played the entire series. The first one (as usual in a series) had good writing and pacing. The second one was stretching the limits of the imagination of the writers. And in the 3rd, they just ran out of ideas.
Third one definitely could have used a bit more polish on the writing side of things. Video games do have a weak link in writing. Fact. I think they pay the writers little for most games... and writers have to work around gameplay mechanics, not the other way around (again, in most cases). This severely limits them.
Don't rail against people stating an obvious fact and a real hurdle games face in their struggle to be seen as "art." And FYI, I'm a writer.
glad to see even more people thought the story was shite. not to mention the voice actors campy delivery i could see him stopping mid sentence and asking someone " so whats my motivation to still be so angry?" in the end 30 minutes into the game i didnt care about kratos anymore and he really came off like a whiny asshole. i wonder if they wont try to make a kind of gow prequel starring zeus. then all youd have to do is switch the name from kratos vs zeus to zeus vs kronos. "father your son zeus has returned!!"
another thing that got me too is
( if he had the sword of zeus with his godly powers in it from when he was gow why not take those powers back?)
also
if he took hades spirit/soul/powers out of him with the blades of hades why didnt he do it to every god/goddess/titan/demigod that he met ?

I guess you edited your last remark out but didn't realize the notification left your "Don't really care what you think, since you seem to know it all." remark included in the update
I never claim to know it all but I do know a lot about a lot. The game is just that .. a game .. I could care less about the cut scenes. I like the challenge of perfecting the game and beating everything. So whether you're an engineer, or a writer as commenting above.. If you don't get paid to critique this game your opinion o the storyline really doesn't mean
Everyone has an opinion.. opinions are like assholes.. everyone has one and most of the time they stink..
Ah so the PAID critics are the ones that have more credibility...because...?
Well obviously thought highly enough of their opinion to PAY them for it.. so when those who nag about stuff start getting paid for it.. instead of jawjacking for no reason.. then it's worth the time and effort
Nah, I chose to edit my comment 'cause it's not worth to argue. An opinion is an opinion and nothing more. As others have mentioned, writers are restricted by tons of parameters, and are paid significantly less than the rest of the staff.
The series had to end, and they ended it...good writing or not.

I imagine they WILL probably milk this series for every last dime they can, but since I saw the ending to Kratos' story(supposedly)in this one, I'm done with this series.
They can make Kratos vs. Zeus vs. Jesus vs. in' Santa Claus if they want in another game. I won't be buying it. I saw the supposed end of Kratos' story. I was NOT impressed at all by the ending(hated it actually) and the end game seemed like they intentionally stretched it out to wayyyy beyond where it should've ended.
I think the story served its purpose it had the fall and redemption of the main character. Kratos from minute one was not suppose to be a likable character. He did murder everyone he came in contact with. Yet when he needed to do something right he was able to.

Why shouldn't a game have a good story? You're basically just towing the Nintendo Wii line of thought.
Otherwise stop talking down our opinion and just stick to your own opinion of the game.
Kratos needed anti-depressants. He let Pandora die just so he could get a punch in on Zues. WTF?

the next one will have religion in it maybe you will even get to fight biblical characters. "kratos let my people go" " I let nothing go save for my blades through your chest".

I know there were references to the Bible in GoW2 but I highly doubt it. The game would be so controversial; religious people would go nuts! I can see the picket signs now. At least with Greek Mythology, it's an ancient dead religion, but with the Bible. . . well you know the rest.

well yeah but what if he helps people out in bible times. maybe moses was able to get the jews from egypt because kratos kept the egyptians busy........it a stretch but i know they wouldnt do it like you said people would lose their shit if they made a violent bible based game.

Even though I'm giving you a hard time in the Darksiders promo thread, I agree with you on this.
The story was a mess in 2 and 3. I see people try to defend it, but Kratos is an asshole throughout both. Everything with his family is downplayed through all of the games and it makes the end seem completely out of character. And, as you said, the end sucked which didn't help things.
I'm probably done with the series, too. Unless they maybe do one on Norse or Egyptian mythology and actually develop the protagonist. I wish there were more costumes besides the Fear Kratos and Apollo (which I only got for the Amazon preorder). Though I should know better that it will all be DLC down the road.

i feel the same way thats why i put up both gow3 and the gowc up for trade this game just killed my love for the series. id be up for a game based on egyptian mythology though or maybe a moon knight game. or a decent norse mythology based game.
I considered trading/selling in GoW 3, especially since I had the Apollo code, but the first 2 are still pretty good and I like having the complete trilogy.
I don't know about you guys, but i find part III was good, not great, but pretty good. I love the story and I have no problems with Kratos linear emotion.
I finally opened my Pandora's box. I have to say, it was pretty good! I mean the experience opening the Pandora's box... It actually opens exactly like that in the game  (
there's an instruction paper tells you how to open it too
)
The art book is small, but man, love the artworks, it's definitely a $10 IMO. The video is a download, i haven't watch it yet, but it's $6 on PSN. The soundtracks are great too, I love the Pandora's song, it's so sad (there's hint of Hope in it, it's a great score). Oh yeah, the mp3 files are not encrypted, so basically i can share them with anybody... If the songs are on a CD, i'll give it a value of $8. But since it's a download, $3 is fair.
The Dominus skin is $2 at most, Arena challenge is $1 IMO. That leaves the Pandora's box, which worth at least $15 (there's a hidden chamber, could this means the box is not really
empty according to the game?
The UE game sports the same artwork as the regular (no, not even darker color, it's the exactly the same, only difference being the bar code, the UE has NOT FOR SALE on it). However, when i insert the game, the title actually says Ultimate Edition  (i was playing the regular edition before, i sold it already). Now, this is the first time i notice in the game itself, there's a difference...
So, to sum up the "fair" value of the UE:
$55 game (assuming you never pay retail prices)
$10 art book (small hardcover)
$15 Pandora's box
$06 Unearth video
$03 Music tracks (Metal and Blood + all THREE GoW soundtracks)
$02 Dominus skin
$01 Arena challenges
That's $92, with GS's $79.99 price, i think it's a good buy.
I only need to beat Zeus on Titan mode to Plat part III. After that, i shall have all THREE Plats from GoW. I'll treasure this trilogy in the Pandora's box... All of the "blistering thumbs" "mouth watering sex mini games" "brutal killings" "agonizing traps/puzzles" "intricate structural designs" "beloved/hated Greek mythology characters" will be sealed in that box...
Of course, it's waiting for somebody else to open it

The hidden chamber in the Pandoras box is cool. It plays off the game where they say something even more powerful is hidden deep inside the box. But in the game its not a copy of God of War 3. LOL Could you see Kratos opening the retail pandoras box...."The power to kill a God...... A VIDEO GAME? I am on the cover? WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!"

 that's pretty funny
Seriously, at first i thought i got ripped off, because there was no game in the Pandora's box! I did panicked for few seconds, because anybody can open the outer box and remove the Pandora without leaving traces (it's not sealed in plastic wrapper).
But then i realized the meaning of "pull the tab to reveal the game." That piece of white cardboard is meant to be understood after you remove the art book, duh! Still... it was a cool moment inserting my thumbs into the pre-cut flaps and pull the cardboard out (just like a little trap mechanism in the game). The dark interior of the box revealed the art book and nothing more. Of course, after removing the book, i found a tiny little tab... I didn't know what to do with it, instead of pulling it, i flipped the whole box and the hidden chamber board sort of dropped out to reveal the game.
I finished the game last night and just wanted to say I loved it, my favorite in the series. I wanted it to last longer but other than that I had very few issues with it. I was SLIGHTLY disappointed with the last boss/ending but otherwise I loved almost every single second of the game.
okay, so i Plat'd it and went to spartansstandtall.com, all i saw was rains, heavy rains... what's the point exactly?
oh yeah, as i beat Zeus for the 2nd time, i picked up something new. Please answer or comment if you have some idea what it means...
So, at the 2nd part of the Zeus fight, Gaia appeared there's a short conversation before Kratos and Zeus fell into Gaia's heart... Zeus said something like "Gaia, it appears your pawn has failed you, maybe you should have chosen the OTHER one." The other one? What does Zeus meant by that?!?!

Kratos
has a brother so many people think thats who he was referring to.
a blood brother... the Birth of the Beast Trophy requires you to watch that video
I didn't think that was him because according to the
Birth of the Beast Video, that dude died and he's in Hades realm... Kratos went there three times and never a single word from his blood brother, not even when Hades is dead. Hence, i don't think it's Kratos' blood brother.
Did anybody successfully redeemed TWO skin codes using your PSN account? I think I accidentally redeemed two skin codes using my account (PoC and Apollo). I haven't got any codes in the e-mail yet, but looks like i just ruined my Apollo code ( (the fine print says only one skin code per account can be redeemed).
