But if you listen to the conversations with Dwayne, X, and one of the missions (and follow the logical progression of listening to said mission), the choice will be pretty clear.

I landed my helicopter inside the yellow rectangle on the street. It would be nice to have a helipad somewhere, but it does look hilarious on the street.

I took a helicopter and flew it by the airport, and jumped out onto one of the wings of the plane which was taking off. Thought i would get a free ride to Vice City, but it i quickly fell off as the planes wing moved from under my feet. I guess there is no way to stand on a moving plane unless you constantly run in the direction its flying, otherwise it will just move out from under you.

I don't think it will allow you to. I tried car surfing last night and I kept falling down.
 
I'm struggling, dammit. I have 2.5% till I'm 100% complete (all I have left is 65 or so flying rats). Have a map/pictures of the rest, just don't have the urge to complete it to get my key. fuckin eh.

Actually I tried it tonight and it worked. It probably wouldn't if I went off on a mission without it, but at least you can go in and save real quick.
 
100 % in GTA4 in the humorously long time of 69:37:22. I did alot of extra curricular things during that time of course but I suppose I am a loser. Wonder how cool the key will be?

I expect my time to be well over 70. Remember when Faustin was in the Perestrokia theatre? I thought the F on the map was for the name of club. I ended up playing 6-7 hours just doing missions for Roman assuming that was the story missions. :[

Congrats. I wanted to try for the key, but when I read the terms & conditions residents of Arizona weren't eligible.

ah fuckin eh, 199 flying rats/pigeons down, missed 1, and I can't find it. That's all I fuckin need too, for 100%....ugh. I believe I missed one on the Statue but can't find it there.
 
Just beat it, tried to do the last mission around 3 times a couple of days ago but
I couldn't do the motorcycle jump for some reason.

Pretty epic, now to see if I have enough balls to go for 100%.

On a side note, the R* Social Club is STILL broken for me...
 
man I finally completed the story mission.

I swear I was never doing to beat it. I was about an hour from being done well over a week ago, but things kept stopping me. First, I had to work 3 double shifts in a row, then I had to go out of town for mother's day. After all this, I come home and I have a terrible flu for the past 3 days.

But I did it...now I need to work on that 100% and playing multiplayer.

I completely drove right by it the first time I did the mission. I wish the yellow thing would've lit up more than 2 seconds before doing the jump.

I'm at 71%, I don't know if I'll have the time to get to 100% before the contest is done.
 
Just finished Stevie's missions last night and got a couple of random encounters, I'm currently at 86%. Hopefully after work tonight I'll finish the last 3 races from Brucie, get some more random encounters, and get to work on those pigeons. I don't think I'll be able to get 100% if I JUST started pigeon hunting tonight.

Is anyone's Social Club not updating at all? I originally linked my GT to it on launch and it STILL hasn't updated for me. If it doesn't update, then I won't bother rushing for the 100%.

Mine still says 34% even though i got 100% Wednesday night. Also i did about 5 zits a day or two before that and they havent shown up either. But they could look at the date you got the 100% achievement, i dunno if they would go by their slow ass site to see the winners. I emailed them but so far no reply. I wish i could access the 100% area.

I understand your servers are overloaded, mainly because everyone is playing the highest ranked game of all time (which it deserves), but I am about 5% away from 100% completion (for my key to the city) and was afraid that the stats won't update in time before the contest ends. What will happen if I get 100% and my stats aren't updated on the site until after the contest ends? I am at 95% right now, yet the site still says 29% even after 1 full week. If it doesn't update in time, will I be SOL (sh*t out of luck)? I really hope not. Thanks for your help and cooperation.

Yeah, I noticed that too, the site will still update but you just can't see it. The site didn't update that I beat story mode till yesterday, yet now that I can see it, it says I completed story on May 7th, which I think is correct. So it goes by when you beat it, not when you can see it, like they said. Just noticed that.

On a side note, just finished 100% and I'm done. I was lucky because I looked through some maps of the pigeons and the one on gamesradar was better than the actual book guide and took a guess at which one I missed, turned out I was right, first pick. :D

Ok, I'm looking for pigeon number 122, and it isn't on top of that roof as listed. Any help? I know I didn't kill it already, I matched the same exact spot in the guide as in game, and it's not there.

#122 on what island and map? Are you using the official strategy guide or some website guide?

Wait, I might know which one your talking about. The one on top of the building across from the gas station? If so, stand in front of the gas station, look at the building roof (it's not that big) and throw a grenade on top of the building. That should do the trick.

A fair number of Pigeons are in places that look alot like other places nearby. The hospital one specifically does. What I tried to do was match up the scene exactly to what was on the guide I used (I used IGN), and if I didn't see it, and could match up the background exactly, I knew I had killed it as one point or another. I would recommend to anyone going pigeon hunting to use the same guide the entire time, and to actually use a guide, and not just a map like I started with, as you see dots, see no bird and then have to go through the ones you used said map for when you sit at 199 =p
 
I was trying to go for as many achievements as I could, but I'm already at 25 hours with 55 missions done, so no way I'll get the 30 hour achievement =/

I still think it's a dumb achievement, forces people to rush through the game.

Thanks for the tip, but I've tried that, throwing many grenades at once. Please don't regard me as stupid, but I've never been at that spot at all ever in GTA, and I know for a fact that I haven't killed it yet. I've restarted the game, I can still see other pigeons but not that exact one.
 
Btw, whats the guys name who Brucie introduces you to steal the cars for that guy? I need some cash but can never find his name.

Well, my suggestion is to try and make a list of what pigeons you think you have already killed before starting the guide. Like, mark the ones you killed using the guide with a check and the ones you think you might of killed before using the guide with like a ? mark.

I used photoshop with mine and marked the ones I killed using the guide with a red dot while the ones that I couldn't find/thought I killed before using the guide with a blue dot. When I found out I missed 1 pigeon, all I had to do was revisit the blue dots and check out, found out that the spot I thought the pigeon was (looked exactly like the guide picture) was actually wrong, it was underneath where I was looking.

After you do that, if possible, just skip that one (again, try to mark it with a color/dot/whatever, so you know that you skipped that one) and kill the rest of the pigeons.

Stevie starts sending you text messages for cars after you get the cars for Brucie. You don't call him, he just sends you a message with a pic of the car he wants. I guess you have to have the camera phone first as well. Check your older messages. Stevie's can get buried with other plot messages.

The first car is a Comet from South Algonquin between the golf club and Burger Shot. So if you think you've already gotten the first text message, go there. If there's no car, he either hasn't contacted you or you already did it.
 
How the fuck do I start a private server to do the coop missions with a friend!!!??? :bomb:

I've never tried multiplayer before and it's soo unintuitive it's making me mental.

I can invite my friend to a multiplayer game, but when I pick one of the coop missions, it throws us in with 2 other random retards. I can setup a private coop server, but it wont let me start the mission by myself so I cant get to the fucking phone to invite my friend!!! I'm about to put my fist thru the wall! :bomb:

All I want to do is play the coop missions with one friend and noone else.


*edit* Ugh, I figured it out, but god are the coop missions crap...
