GTA Chinatown Wars

money comes soo easily in the game, i don't bother jacking the drug vans or weapon trucks.
 
Beat the game earlier today, great game I must say. I had more fun playing the stock market with drugs than the overall story of the game. It seems like Rockstar tried to make everyone you get missions from be like "Brucie" from GTA IV. It somewhat got annoying, the character that pissed me off the most was Chan, he has to be the dumbest person ever.
 
Did you guys do the random person mission where you have to drive the porn actor to his audition? I thought that was pretty funny! :D

On the mission Torpedo Run
, I want a boat with torpedoes! James Bond shit right there lol. I also drove around for a while with the van and took it to my safehouse but it looks like you have to destroy it, :cry:
 
I just unlocked the auto shop and saw that you can buy a tank(!) Can't wait to tear some shit up with that. This game is nuts! :D
 
I love how the cops can be after but you can run into your safe house or park your drug van and they all the sudden leave you alone while you retrieve the drugs.

Yea the options at the auto shop are pretty sweet. I also like how you unlock more vehicles as you go, makes the motivation all that more!
Well if you head to the airport there is the Rhino with a little mini challenge too! ^^
 
Who enjoys the music? I like the music for Hsin Jaoming when he's giving you a mission. I also enjoy the Alchemist and Prairie Cartel stations. I found GTA IV's radio station to be disappointing.

I noticed a lot of pod casters and such talk about how there is no talking in the game, but people seem to be saying things on the street all the time, along with every time you open and closed the DS. I've been imnpressed and lauged a few times at the random dialogue.

What is Fish Fed? This is a stat under the General tab.
 
when can i start drug dealing? ive done 3 or 4 missions so far, i'm up to the stealing cars and dropping them off mission.
is there only 1 default camera level? any option to lower the camera? oher than pressing L and changing the angles
 
I'm pretty sure they walk you through it with the drugs, as soon as you get an email tipping you off then you can use that. As for the camera check out settings which you can adjust up or down also turn on GPS on the radar.

I enjoyed the radio at first, but it quickly became annoying. It seemed every time I got into a car, the radio would be playing the same song as the last 10 times I got in a car.

I'm assuming that happens when you die trapped in a sinking vehicle.

When looking at your briefcase in the safehouse, isnt there the little arrows icon at the top left of the touchscreen? That should bring you to it.

After you complete the mission "Tricks of the Triad" that Uncle Kenny gives you. I think it's the fourth or fifth mission.

Would you look at that, thanks. I just see that the i also shows you that there is something with that dual arrow icon but I never use the help icon.
 
Did you guys notice the 'Cockroaches Squashed' stat? You can squish the cockroaches that sometimes crawl out of the garbage bin you're searching.

I don't know if it amounts to anything or it's just a goofy stat, but I've squished 8 so far. :D

Is that what that is? I couldn't figure it out. Sounds like what happens when you don't play Animal Crossing for a while.
 
I just beat it. The ending was really sudden. And when I beat it I have like 50% more to do, is that just like side missions and buying property?
I demand another GTA DS game.

Ok another stupid question, what does the globe like icon do on the gps screen in the top right of the lower screen? There is no help for this and was just wondering.

It toggles off the GPS directions without actually having arrived at the destination.
 
Some people said this is the best game ever released on the DS. After playing this a bit, I honestly can't think of a better game for the DS.

Then I messed up my expectations of length because of the progress percentage and then the game ended a few missions later. Now I feel empty inside :(
 
I just received my copy from Amazon today. I'm really looking forward to start playing it. I never really got into GTA IV but the DS being my main console/portable of choice, I should be able to really get into this game.
 
There's a go-kart track? That's fucking awesome. I need to find that.

I paused on GTA so I could play some Peggle DS but I'm itching to get back into it now.
 
Graphics are nice, but they don't increase the fun factor. I'm having way more fun with this game than I ever did with GTA IV. :D

That's the one. There is a Go Kart parked there. Jump in the kart and it will start the race (mission).
 
Well it was no fault to Nintendo right, oh wait I got the email about the game on the 15th, two days ago! Of course they're not going to market the thing like crazy since its a minority on this platform but it doesn't mean its not a bad game. I read this over at Kotaku and they compared the game to GTAIV sales numbers, face palm (stupid comparison).

I just did the go kart missions, (so cool that you can still shoot while doing it) last night when I was sitting on the can haha perfect short amount of time mini game.

It only reflects 2 weeks of sales for the game though, right? The game came out on the 17th, if I remember correctly.

DS games tend to have long legs...it clearly didn't storm out of the gate but I'm optimistic that it'll get played as time goes by.

It's the end of the world, Ma!: to save money on development costs Nintendo releases a port of GTA for the GBA on the DS :shock:
 
Lol I was just playing this and took someone out of their car. They said "did we make out"!? Hilarious, beat the game, got one statue and working on the last.
 
I got this game from amazon with their trade-in coupon, and although I've only played about 10 minutes of it so far, I'm surprised at how much of the GTA "feel" it has, and how much they packed into the tiny DS cart.

It looks damn good for a DS game too.
 
Beat it the other night. Great game. I loved the diversity in the missions and how they were all pretty much enjoyable, unlike alot of the GTA4 missions.
