Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - 8/21 Dragonforce Track Pack

I watched the IGN video last night, and I must say, I'm really not digging the new look. It seems like Neversoft is going to take the series into the wrong direction.
It's just a new coding of the 5 colors. Honestly, who cares about the look? It all matters on how hard you rock out, really.
The song list is shaping up to be pretty cool, but I don't know, it just doesn't seem like it'll be the same ol' GH. Harmonix' touch really made Guitar Hero what it was (for me, anyway), so I'll probably be more into Rock Band this time around.

Here's a pic. of the guitar and a list of the in-game guitars:

 • Gibson:

Oooh "Welcome to the Jungle" awesome!

EDIT:

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jul 10, 2007 - Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATVI) today announced that legendary guitar hero Slash will provide an original track and appear as a boss battle character in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, delivering wannabe rock stars the chance to shred against the music icon. Additionally, Guns N' Roses' rock anthem hit "Welcome to the Jungle" will be included in the game's robust soundtrack that also features master tracks by such renowned rock bands as The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Muse and Pearl Jam. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is slated for release this fall.

More tracks confirmed:

• Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones)
• Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins)
• Sabotage (by Beastie Boys)
• The Metal (by Tenacious D)
• My Name is Jonas (by Weezer)
• Knights of Cydonia (by Muse)
• Rock And Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss)
• School’s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
• Slow Ride (as made famous by Fog Hat)
• Cult of Personality (by Living Colour)
• Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)
Did Slash allow the song to be in there?

I thought Axl Rose bought the rights to all old GnR songs.

Could be mistaken there.
Read the press release in the OP. Slash will be a character in the game (boss battle).

So Welcome to the Jungle is going to be in both GHIII & Rock Band? (confirmed it that video that leaked last week) Interesting.............

Still gonna get Rock Band before this.............

I know.

I meant, because Welcome to the Jungle is in the game, I figured Slash had something to do with that song. But then I was trying to remember if Axl Rose owned the right to all old Guns N Roses songs.

They don't have a good relationship is what I'm getting at, so I was surprised Slash was in the game with Welcome to the Jungle as opposed to a Velvet Revolver song.

Harmonix said Welcome to the Jungle wasn't confirmed for Rock Band, and that it was only a possibility.

My gamertag motto has been Welcome to the Jungle about a week after i beat GH2

Ive always been a rap hip-hop guy and after playing GH2 it opened my world up to some great musicians. Ive been listening to that song wanting to play it and now its confirmed :D :D(yes i heard it before but only in shows/movies)

Now lets get some more queen on there!

then why would they have it up & running in the game? It looks like its more than a possibility

Maybe the licensing deal fell through and went to Neversoft instead? Hmm.

We'll see...............

Too bad I hate GnR....good thing there are some other awesome songs that will be in there that I can't say anything about..

Velvet Revolver is going to be in the game too. Maybe even with two songs. The band confirmed it in an interview awhile ago:

Around the last 3 minutes of the interview is when they start talking about Guitar Hero and mention that they'll have a couple of songs in the game (probably She Builds Quick Machines and Let it Roll).
Maybe the licensing deal fell through and went to Neversoft instead? Hmm.
Or they're still working on securing licenses and just don't want to confirm anything until they know for sure they can use the song. Or they caught wind of Welcome to the Jungle being in GH3 and decided to go with a different GNR song?

Just for show-off/testing purposes. A while back there was a store kiosk version of GH2. When a few people took it home and checked out the data on the disc, they found that there were actually a few songs that were not in the final game...I believe one was an AC/DC song but my memory is fuzzy.

Pretty much everything is subject to change until a song is officially announced.

New info:
This past Monday, a group of ScoreHero members was flown out to visit Neversoft's Southern Calilfornia offices to play/test Guitar Hero III:
Legends Of Rock. Upon arriving, we were led to Neversoft's spacious mo-cap area, where we each had our own plasma screen and wireless Les Paul setup to demo as much of the x360 version as our hands could take over the span of about 5 hours. Now that we've returned to our respective homes, we're proud to bring back some exclusive info about the game, which is being announced on ScoreHero before anywhere else.

Pictures of the after party at the hotel!

First up: the Grim Ripper will be returning as a playable character along with some old favorites from the Guitar Hero series, and a couple of new characters. The list of characters so far is:

Characters

Axel Steel

Lars Umlaut
Xavier Stone
Midori (new)

Venues

We also have the list of all-new venues that will be appearing in the game over the 8 tiers, which are:

It should also be noted that over 50% of the main-tier songs are master tracks, and over 70% including the bonus tracks!

Through this post, everyone who attended the session will add their own comments on their playtesting, but before then, some general information on the game:

- One of the biggest gameplay changes was with the system for hammer-ons and pull-offs. Rather than being based solely on the timing of the notes, Neversoft is able to program certain notes to be strummed or hammer-ons. The general guideline is, if a note is strummed on a real guitar, it will probably have to be strummed in-game. When a note is a hammer on for a real guitar, you'll probably be able to do a hammer-on for it in-game. This provides a much more realistic feeling to the charts.

- After our lengthy demo session, we sat down with some of the guys from Neversoft GH3 team in order to provide feedback on how the game was coming along, and what would be nice to see changed before release. We sat in for two hours and were able to discuss all parts of the game from top-to-bottom with the developers. It's an understatement to say that all of us who were out there are very eagerly awaiting the release of the latest game in the Guitar Hero franchise.

Dragonforce! No fuckin way! I didn't think they would go that obscure/awesome. My hope for some Opeth, Iced Earth, and Stratovarius still burns.

My buddy did the note tracking for the Iron Maiden song. Lucky bastard :)
I'm trying to get him to convince them to put some Mastodon in there.

Hmm I wonder how GHIII DLC will compete with Rock Band's. Didn't they say new songs every week and whole albums for RB?

I want GHIII for the current soundtrack but hard to say since RB might get the same songs plus more.

After playing all of those custom Dragonforce charts of TTFATF, I'm excited to see how it'll turn out on the game itself. Probably hard as shit. :whistle2:# I'll be getting GH3, I'm not sure about Rock Band yet, probably though..

new songs announced not sure if this has been posted yet so here it is

Miss Murder
(by AFI)
3's and 7's (by Queens of the Stone Age)
Raining Blood (by Slayer)
Reptillia (by The Strokes)

Damn, the track list is looking better and better...
I might get this game. Iced Earth would be cool, but is highly unlikely.
I'm glad for Slayer and Dragon Force.
They still have almost no black metal, it'd be cool if they did...
Opeth would be nice.
Some more Dethklok! :D
In Flames or Children of Bodom would be the BEST!

So Paranoid and Mississippi Queen are in both Rock Band and GH3? I hope there's not too many songs that are in both games.

Edit: Reptilia is in both games as well.
Reptilia is going to be lots of fun to play.

Now about the price of this game...
Better not be more than $90. Hell, I'm praying to god they'll get some fucking sense and release it as $70 or so.

It's 100.00 or 60.00 for just the game.
