Alright, just got done playing it for four hours straight or so with my friend and a few thoughts.
+The guitar is

ing amazing! Like the slider is nice for the solo's, but it's also just a nice feature as a replacement whammy (though isn't as strong in getting those star power points like the whammy though). The strum bar is also damn long and the neck fits in just fine and isn't wobbly at all when placed in (though time will tell if it'll stay fine that way). Only complaint I can give is that the whammy bar is long and will easily move out of hands reach when you don't notice.
+There are new guitar fret combinations, specificaly when there is a long fret you're holding down different notes will appear so you got to hit that while holding down the long fret.
+I Actually like the no strum bass notes for bass, it keeps bassist on toes though doesn't really amp difficulty up in anyway, it's just nice.
+The actual musician models for the game look awesome and really, really creepy...
+Some specific animations for each song and nice little continuity when camera switches around you can still see the singer doing his poses or whatever else in the background.
-The star power in this game is shitty. Everyone has to share a pot of star power and it lasts about 10 seconds for each player that uses it. That and time to time it's hard to tell how much is left so you're flipping your guitar back and forth like a jackass, thinking you still got starpower.
-The world tour mode in this is ass. Just got to go through a group of songs straight and can't choose them individually, plus got to use own goddamn money to play some setlists? What kinda

ing bands have to do that?! Seriously, it took forever to get the money just to play the goddamn Tool set, it's bullshit.
-The GHTunes with all the custom made songs I can already tell you is going to shit. So many people making half-assed songs just to get achievements that I can already say it's good idea on paper, but seeing it right there... You're better off trying to make your own good songs.
-The drums aren't as great as people say, mostly because of the cymbals. After awhile my friend had to literally hit the shit out of them to register a hit and even before that, you got to hit them dead center to get a note in.
-Making a band name is sooo tedious because the interface is awful plus can't make that long of a band name. So Murder City Machine Guns was reduced to Murder City Machine (couldn't even add a G or anything for Guns). But to get more specific, basically to make a band name you have to go through each letter on a long ass dial and to go to a space for your name you have to press down for the longest

ing time.
-Honestly, after awhile me and my friends got really bored. Like the beginning setlist is pretty damn boring and it stays boring for awhile because the songs you want take forever to get to or you got to pay (in the game to play) so alot of songs that are in Rock Band we literally groaned when we got to play them.
-The setlist in general for me didn't have many songs that got me excited to play, though it maybe a personal preference, but if you weren't excited to play a song in this or don't know the song in anycase...It won't be anymore fun to play.
-If you want to change the difficulty you're playing you got to basically go all the way back to the character select screen and do it from there. Not a huge complaint, but a bit too much effort for something they could do after choosing a song.
+/-You're either going to love the corny humor (the opening cinema) or you're going to find stupid (the dumb puns each real musician uses to say how great you are).
In short: didn't get to try single player modes, but I figure meat and potatoes of the game is really band mode. If you want just a more difficult of a guitar game, this is the best bet if Rock Band doesn't do it for you. Besides that the game...I almost want to say it goes through the motions, but there is no heart and soul in what it does. Like abunch of good ideas, but not enough to drag me away from Rock Band 2 (or even Rock Band 1). So if you got Rock Band 2 and love it, then there's no need to get this except for the guitar and only reason to go for this (besides guitar) is if you like the setlist, enjoy GH post-Harmonix or have actual excitement for the song creator. Other then that...Count me in as a bit disappointed.
