You set it to match up with your same language, as does everyone else that wants the FFA achievements, then you're closer to get matched with those kinds of people rather than playing normally.

5. Mongoose Mowdown

You must suck then. I got all of them legit in lone wolves. Kill Frenzy was easy, grenade tag one was easy and the mongoose mowdown all you have to do is run around the map the whole time, find two guys fighting and run one over. Overkill I got sort of lucky because I was rushing the sword on the Pit and so did everyone else, so I got overkill and stepping razor. I got the double kill in KoH.

Im just proving a point, in that you don't have to cheat for achievements.

Anyone else a bit pissed that this games been out a month and Bungie has only done one (minor) matchmaking update? I thought Bungie was the prime example of giving back to the community XBOX wise. Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember Bungie tweaking Halo 2 a lot more in the first month than one time. Maybe it was the course of 2 months or something.

The only achievement I didn't get legitly was the spartan lazer one. Everyone got in the middle and lazered eachother.

There I said it.
 
The ones I got legitly were...

5 grenade tags
2 for 1 spartan laser
killing frenzy
5 melee kills
10 headshots (campaign)
5 needler kills (campaign)
destroy enemy vehicle with equipment (campaign)
too close to sun (campaign)

The best way for me to get the killing frenzy one legitly was on that snow map. Just stay in those bunker things with a shotgun, some grenades and there, 10 kills. :D

Let's see that video of the Overkill/Steppin' Razor. The only reason I ask is that doing something that great you must have the video for it right?

It needs more maps. I don't like the veto option at all. I also don't like the fact there is no Big Team Slayer or Team Snipers. Not everyone likes objective games. I don't mind them from time to time, but in general I'd rather play Slayer.

It sucks though. Seriously, like 60 seconds prior my roommate and I were playing the Smackdown vs Raw demo, then my other roommate was like "hey, let's play Halo" "Ok."

The game automatically keeps the last 25 games you played...if its withing the last 25 matches, look it up and add it to your fileshare.
 
I just picked up the Limited Edition on Saturday, and despite being kind of iffy about it because I absolutely HATED Halo 2 online, Halo 3 is AMAZING! It just feels right, where Halo 2 felt completely horrible to me. I actually can stand playing online, and the campaign is fun too.

That happens to me when I play Gears of War and Halo 3. It says "The disc is unreadable." I have to fuck with putting the disk back in, and half the time it reads both games as a DVD and says "Please put this disk in an Xbox 360 console." Umm, huh? Since when did my 360 become a fucking toaster oven?

I agree. I mostly just lob grenades from far away in hopes that it'll chip some health. Shields take waaaaaay too long to recharge. So by the time I run up and engage (bullets don travel that far), I won't have to waste the entire clip of the Pea Shooter, errrr.... Assault Rifle on only 1 enemy. That way, whatever I have left, I use to chip away on the next guy, making it easier for teammates who come to the rescue.

... and if worst comes to worst, and the guys starts dancing, it's melee time.

I'm probably one of the few persons who uses Boxer Configuration with pride.

Lastly, realize this, if this were the bungie forums, I would've just been banned for writing "heresy" and calling the AR a worthless pea shooter.

Same. It's my third game that did that. First it was Gears, then I just bought another Gears to fix it ( which I am NEVER doing again ), then Saints Row, and now this.

Major Nelson comes on the CAGcast and talks about how his job is telling corporate what the community wants. Well hey major! I want my 360 to read my games and not red ring. Can you do that before adding all of this other XBL bullshit plz?

I played the hell out of this game the first two weeks it was out. Now I'm already starting to get tired of it. I blame it on the lack of maps and the shit system that won't let you pick what type of game you'd like to play.

I don't want to play fucking Territories, Landgrab, or One-Sided VIP. I don't want to play fucking Ninjanut (or whatever the hell it's called) Oddball, or King of the Hill in Rumble Pit/Lone Wolves games.

Bungie to people like me: "Too bad, you'll play what we tell you. We're Bungie, fuck you." Seriously.....I hate their arrogant attitude towards their fans.

On a side note, I was talking to a friend and we got into a discussion about how I wish that Bungie would release a map pack of some Halo 2 maps but with a twist. Maybe disaster has struck an area? I would love a Lockout that is no longer in the middle of a snow storm, but maybe it has fallen and landed in a desert? Or maybe foundation or burial mounds have flooded with water. Or maybe Ivory Tower has exploded, who knows! Those types of maps would make me super happy since they would be classical maps with a new feel to them and are proven contenders. However, my friend disagreed. What do you guys think?

Like the other day I jumped into a friend's match and they were playing like some swords game or something, infestation I think, but there was like barely any gravity.

Were they hacking, or is this normal?

There have been many times on Halo 2, as well, where I couldn't tell whether or not a game I was playing was hacked.

If Bungie was just reasonable and didn't give a fuck, like rational, normal people would, then I wouldn't have to worry about knowing every single little fucking thing about the latest hacks and what they look like and wondering if I'll wind up banned somehow.

All I want to fucking do is play the fucking game.

Decreased Player Gravity, it's one of many options available for custom gametypes.

That is an awesome idea. I want them to bring back the Halo 2 maps so bad, but with a little twist at least, just as you described as well. Perfect.

I came across some cheaters a few days ago in a ranked Team Slayer match. Everybody with the exception of three players on the opposing team was lagged to the point of unplayability; we jerked around the map like mad, suddenly finding ourselves dead without seeing an enemy anywhere remotely near us. Perhaps the standby trick or something?

Final score was 50 to 6.
 
Maybe they are talking about the achievements that don't happen within actual competition?

I've been in at least two Lone Wolves matches where people were trying to colllaborate to "achieve" achievements.

Doubtful, since they have already established that they are not banning those who language boosted. (Source: Gamefaqs, so it may or may not be true.)

Like someone said, that was a custom game. I'm pretty certain at this point you don't have to worry about it if you are just playing the game like normal. I had a game that lagged badly like another poster mentioned which was really one sided, which if people are doing intentionally or often enough then I can see Bungie bringing down the hammer.

Personally, I've had some odd melee experiences where I get hit once, in the front and it's enough to kill me. Not talking about Sword/Hammer either, or having been shot first. Full health. Not sure how that works since I can't seem to pull it off.

Bungie's not going to randomly ban you though. But if you've been doing something in the game that seems like a glitch and keep using it over and over again, well then you might be in trouble.

Maybe I'm confused. I just started playing offline MP with friends and really love the infected mode. How do I play this over Live? Is there seriously no option to join games in the mode I prefer or create a custom match with that mode?
