Wow. That's....pretty low.

That's not a bad idea. Make some cookies for your local game store on Halo day.

Because we all know Sony as a whole wrote that and not just some unprofessional fanboy intern. Because Sony is an evil company who is in it for the money unlike Microsoft and Nintendo.

I swear, I will flip if Bungie.net has some sort of response for this. I doubt they are that stupid though.

Should I even bother pre-ordering Halo 3? I remember pre-ordering Halo 2 and going to Best Buy on launch day and seeing more than enough copies on a table at the front of the store. So, I was wondering if you all think it would be necessary for me to pre-order, or just walk in on launch day and buying it?

why not just take advantage of getting a free goody, while playing it safe?

Hmm, how huge? Is it like the ending scene? Aw fuck it, if it is something really huge then I"ll just blame you and complain

Not even spoilers, i think. Basically just showcases MP

So who else will be going to the Midnight Launch of Halo 3? I will be going to my local gamestop and I am kinda excited cause the manager in gonna be in a Head to toe Master Chief suit that he ordered off the internet and they are also gonna have a tournament at a local movie theater on the big screens that I am gonna be going to also.

Also is gamestop giving away any preorder bonus for Halo 3 yet?

wow if he is a manager at gamestop he must have spent his entire life savings on that suit or it is a really cheap one that looks like it was made out of cardboard.
Well. Blockbuster is 3 blocks from me and they might get orders in for it. I have a 10$ gc there and with that extra 10 off i might get it there...
I pre-ordered today at my Blockbuster
I don't know about anyone else but I stopped looking over the media for this game awhile back so I can save some awe for the 25th.
Me too...Last thing I saw was the Trailer that was on XBLM from E3 and then pics of the costumes and new weapons...that's all I know.

Not sure if this has been posted but if it has im sure this is more in depth:

Time Magazine Ridicules Halo 3

The October Issue of TIME Magazine has finally landed in subscribers hands with a familiar Master Chief on the cover. However, TIME Magazine isn't exactly representing Halo 3 in a good way, it shoots along the lines of a slap in the face towards Bungie. Not only do they try to humiliate Bungie and their fans, Time humiliates themselves in the process.

It is unclear as to what this TIME Magazine journalist was thinking when he wrote this article, but you can be sure to hear an uproar from the Halo community in the next few days. TIME's "Lev Grossman" had a few words to say about Halo 3 and the direction its taking. He even has the nerve to say something like this:
 • “Not that the Bungies care. They don’t need to legitimize Halo by associating it with other, more respectable media. They sell enough units and make enough money. They’re happy in their invisible geek ghetto. But that’s the logic of the marketplace: it can’t leave subcultures alone; it has to turn them into cultures. It may be time for the Master Chief to come in from the cold and join the party, with the popular kids.
Not to Fear, The BBPS had a few things to say to Lev's ignorance on the subject of Halo.

Halo fans response to this a hole:

Time Magazine makes a mockery of “journalism” in Halo cover story

I have to admit I was pretty excited when I saw Halo 3 on the cover of Time magazine. Of course after reading the article, I’m damn near livid. It’s rare that we see games covered in a fair (or even remotely balanced) way. Well the trend continues.
We’ll start with the simple stuff. The stuff that points to the laziness of the reporter in doing even a minor amount of research. Take the following pictures that talk about Halo merchandising. The picture of the Scarab is not a “sculpture” as the caption states, but a Heroclix game piece used in the table-top game. The “Halo 3 branded console” is also completely wrong, and looks nothing like the picture included.

Lev Grossman does his best to devalue and marginalize video games and, by extension, video game players. I’m not entirely sure what the point of the article is, but with comments like games working their way out the ghetto to one day play with the popular kids, one must assume that Grossman simply and completely disregards video games as anything other than a mere distraction to the serious work he must think he engages in (just so you know that link there points to his story about the godlessness of Harry Potter).

Here’s the choice cuts from the full length article (emphases are mine).
“There is an invisible subculture in America. Those who belong to it love it with a lonely, alienated, unironic passion. Those who don’t belong to it walk right by, uncaring, just as people walk right by that unmarked building in downtown Kirkland [Bungie’s offices]”.
“It’s doubtful that many people reading this could say exactly, or even approximately, what the Halo games are about.”
“The Bungies bring a grinding, jeweler’s meticulousness to what most people consider an unhealthy amusement for children.
“This devotion is fueled by a belief, not shared by the world at large, that video games are an art form with genuine emotional meaning and that Halo 3 will be the premier example of that art.”
“There’s an opportunity beyond video games, too, for Halo to break out of the ghetto and become a mainstream, mass-market, multimedia entertainment property.”
“Not that the Bungies care. They don’t need to legitimize Halo by associating it with other, more respectable media. They sell enough units and make enough money. They’re happy in their invisible geek ghetto. But that’s the logic of the marketplace: it can’t leave subcultures alone; it has to turn them into cultures. It may be time for the Master Chief to come in from the cold and join the party, with the popular kids.”
His assertion that most readers of Time couldn’t possibly describe what the Halo games are about is the most laughable. Though Time magazine’s circulation numbers have dropped from 4 million down to 3.4 million in the past year, those numbers are still EASILY dwarfed by Halo 2’s sales numbers alone, so far moving 8 million copies. So maybe Grossman shouldn’t assume that no one who reads Time magazine plays Halo.
Of course they’ll have one less Halo playing reader, since I’ll be canceling my subscription to Time magazine today. I think I’ll be taking my money to Newsweek, who staffs one of the most respected game journalists in the field, N’gai Croal.

I am enjoying the RvB on EBStop's website. The moving one is funny. I hate coming to this board because it is a constant reminder that I still have to wait X amount of days till I get to play it. I bet we all hear the internet cave in when everyone goes online with this game and then when people bitch about the ending.
Oh yeah, I am now considering pre-ordering Halo 3. Where could I get the best goodies for pre-ordering the game? Thanks for any help.
EB/GS/CC
Whats EB/GS offering?

Im still waiting for a damn update on the blockbuster deal...
Mastha cheif "action figure" if you preorder online...
Mastha cheif "action figure" if you preorder online...
Where'd you see that? I just checked both ebgames.com and gamestop.com and there's no mention of an action figure...?

He's mistaken me thinks.

Also that Time article is FTL. The guy must REALLY hate videogames for him to completely belittle Halo and discount it like it's not a multi-million dollar franchise or anything. His ignorance if FTW.

IDK why these people have to poop on people's parades...People like videogames over reading, and people consider gaming an art form, boo fucking hoo.

BTW, Microcenter has a thing for Halo 3 that if you have the best MC costume, you get a free legendary edition of the game.

You also get $10 Gc for preordering.

Yea like the guy said, if your into reading then get newsweek. But that guy is an ass. just disregaurd his "diahreaha of the mouth".

I would also like to say the guy who leaked that video is retarded. He didn't show us anything too good, and now has lost his ability to play an almost full multiplayer game that we all want to play. IDIOT!

He should have released TONS of HD videos or something.

Nigga please. The Economist is where it's at. It's miles about any American publication that I've read.
What did you say?
I merely said that The Economist is miles ahead of any similar American publication, in response of Memphis's post about Newsweek.

I was the one called a nazi by Memphis in response to my post .
