Time to wait out the link to see if it's going to show that it's the steelbook or not.

That, or wait until I get the ad in-hand on next Saturday and double-check the SKU # from the ad.
I'm going to do my order with in-store pick up now. I can always cancel later if it's not the right thing. Better to be safe than sorry.

is everyone really willing to pre-order for in-store pickup, then dealing with calling the store at 10am to see if they pulled the 'right' one, risking it even further by possibly getting an inept employee that say's "yeah, I got it in my hands, i don't know what a steelbook is, but this sure looks purty!"

Guess we'll see, I may just be going at 10am on a BB run from work, or possibly try in-store pick=up, but I don't want to even deal with the hassle..

Then again, BB did pull three copies of the GTA: Liberty City Stories game when I had ordered three copies of the guides when they pennied out, anything's possible.

lol, that's what you get for trying to do that on penny guides!

but srlsy, I thought the links on this page were still up for debate? which is the right one again for steelbook only?
Updated with titles description "Halo Legends SE SteelBook"
Fixed that problem. Time to order.

saweeeet! had around $20 left on a giftcard i got for christmas. came to $8ish with instore pickup on tues. cant wait, pretty happy about this.

If your Best Buy is awesome like mine and honors PM's for their SteelBooks Target has it in their sales ad for $19.99. Also someone who works at Best Buy Canada said they received them as well in both BD and DVD sizes. Hopefully we get them in the correct size as well.

I don't think ad scans are allowed here so go to DVDTalk in the DVD Bargains thread and you can see the actual Target ad.

I have a copy of the Target ad, and yes, the BluRay version is listed as $19.99.
Hmm, I wonder if I can PM. I'll be taking the ad there for sure.
Of course you can PM it.

You just have to do a return-and-rebuy to get the PM. Doing the in-store pickup makes sure you have a copy to PM.

Directly doing the PM from a BB.com in-store pickup order isn't possible, since the order isn't a retail purchase per-se.

Good call, that way I can just come back with the receipt and they won't have the product to check out and possibly question.

this is all getting crazy! who knows if the mini-pedia will be bundled or on the display stand..I say just check out the floor before going to the counter.

I'm rolling the dice on this one..not going to do a .com order, but try to be at a store before the lunch crowd. If east coast reports in that there were 2 copies like w/ the hurt locker, i'll pull the trigger I guess, but I just don't trust em and hate doing their work for them!

Hopefully it won't be like Appleseed Ex Machina nightmare where the booklet didn't come and then had to call a number for it to mail to me.

For later on, Appleseed Ex Machina had it wrapped together with SteelBook
So this is only blu ray? I freaking hate that crap! If you're going to do a special edition, do it for all platforms. Same as the Family GUy Star Wars 2 SE, only blu ray. There's just not any DVD love left in the world!
Actually I'm looking at the sunday flyer right now and it seems to indicate that BOTH the DVD and BlueRay will be steel book.

Well, I preordered the Blu-Ray steelbook online today before I found out about the mini encyclopedia. What do you guys think the odds are that they will grab me a free encyclopedia with the preorder? I'd guess slim to none.

Has anyone preordered a steelbook from them online before? When do you usually get the email asking you to come pick up your order? If it's not before the store opens do you think they will be able to figure out what's going on if I just show up with my online order and grab the steelbook and encyclopedia?

I'm going to gamble and just preorder from bb.com. We are supposed to get some snow here so the roads might have been to bad for me to even drive the 30 miles to BB.
its blu-ray sized! :D thanks warner for switching to steelbook! :D
Great news!! I'll be slipping out of a meeting early to grab mine ;P Maybe I should just block out a 9:30-10:30 slot every Tuesday, hah.

like an idiot, I forgot to grab a target ad last night. -.-

guess i'll have to grab one and fly to best buy to confront the bitch who told me that they dont accept manufacturers coupons..

wouldn't you just print out the single page. use the website page, since the weekly ad text is too small.

I thought about that but then I looked for all things they could complain about and figured its worth the trip to just get the full ad. since the single page doesnt say target or anything and my best buy is full of assholes.

So if I buy the Steelbook blu-ray of Halo Legends- I will have it. I can then go back 2 days or so later, and Pricematch it to Target? How does this work? I have never done this... sorry!

Some BB's will match it at the time of purchase (I know mine will). If they don't because it's a SteelBook just buy it full price and go back later to price match. Take the ad (or have them look it up if you don't have it) to the customer service counter and they should give you the difference back.

Thanks

My BB is terrible about PMing Target. I have 2 Targets around me one is an hour away and the other is an hour and 45 mins away. Sometimes they do it sometimes not but I guess really they shouldn't because the Targets aren't "local". I'm going to go to Target and pick up there ad then try to PM later that week.

Wouldn't the two hour round trip drive defeat the $5 dollar savings? Unless of course if you were already going to be by the Target.

I find it's just easier to pay full price, then price match at the CS desk. No matter how prepared I am, I have problems at the registers about 40% of the time. I have never had an issue with the CS folks. However, if you don't mind confrontation or getting denied, it is worth a shot to try and match at the register. If you fail there, you can always take a trip to the desk.

With that said, I might just preorder online right now as the snow might prevent me from making it to the store at opening tomorrow. Then I'll try to price match at the desk when I pick it up.

My local Best Buys are kinda stupid when it comes to PM'ing though...I understand them calling the competitor at time of purcahse to see if they have it in stock, but I've had the Best Buy rep call the store when I showed up days later after the purchase with receipt call up the competitor to see if they have it in stock...I asked why are they calling when I already purchased? They said that "it's policy"...:whistle2:s? I tried to explain why calling in now was ridiculous but the girl was dead set on calling that I just went with it.

Oh wow that's definitely a consideration. I live 4 minutes away from both stores (they are right across the street from each other) and I work even closer, which makes it very easy for me.

I got one waiting on me at the store.

The store manager finally got back to me to settle my complaints regarding the preorder blunders. He set aside a Halo Legends Steelbook for me, but wasn't able to find a copy of my Hurt Locker SB his employees screwed me out of. He seemed really upset about the state of preorders at his store, so hopefully it'll get better. The fact that it's a DVD sized case is my only consolation, lol. I will let this go someday, haha.
