How is Warner Home video for shipping and processing time?
Some people here get their stuff a couple days before release, others like me get it on the release day or on the release week. Stuff in stock usually takes 3-5 buisness days to deliver. They're pretty good.

I'm very tempted to pick up a few things from them now. It's a bummer they charge sales tax though. Thanks.

Arggg,

I got Blade Runner, 300, and TZ Movie....and am .04 away from free shipping. Gotta find something else I suppose. Not bad considering I was going to buy 300 for $30 at Best Buy.

My blu week in review -
Picked up 300 from FYE for $17.99 after rebate.

Ordered Ice Age for $15, Flags of our Fathers for $16, Discovery Atlas Brazil for $8, Casino Royale for $13, and Black Hawk Down for $7.

Also put in for my free - Invinceable, Corpse Bride, Underworld Evolution, The Italian Job, and Transporter 2.

Did I mention I love my PS3?

One of the images I saw over at AVSforum showed a 2007 copyright date on the new version. I don't have the old one, so I can't tell you what the date is on that one.

Details in this thread.
when buying the 5th element how do you tell the difference if its the new transfer?
The cover will be shiny. And on the back it will have TrueHD listed as one of the audio tracks. For some reason they also changed the aspect ratio it reads 2.35:1 instead of 2.40:1
A couple of my buy.com GCO orders have been cancelled. Has this happened to anyone else?

They were all with different emails but the same credit card
That will happen when people try to take advantage if the system, I myself placed a few orders before they became wise to me months back.

Yea, the coupon expired yesterday. 20% one should still be working.

September & October are gonna be bad for me. All the Kubrick movies, Hostel 1 & 2, Spiderman boxset, Wings of Honneamise, Tekkon Kinkreet, House of 1000 Corpses, Underworld, Dawn/Day of the Dead, Dracula, Evil Dead 2, Poltergeist, Masters of Horror Seasons 1 & 2, and Oldboy.

And thats only on the Blu-Ray side :hot:

i need to figure out how to get that spidey set.. .fucking $100...

also cant wait for pirates and silver surfer...

and thats about it on the br side for me

Either is fine, but NA would be cheaper. :)

EDIT: Found this:
The Wings of Honneamise is coming out for $79.99 MSRP in the states

OUCH!
I see it's on Amazon for a pre-order price of $55.95.

I know anime on VHS used to cost a lot, but I'm not willing to pay that much anymore. Gonna wait.

I swooped up 300 (on Blu Ray and HD DVD...Yes, I loved the film THAT much) and Casino Royale from Buy.com
I was about to order some stuff from WB, but due to their shipping delay, I'm going to have to pass.

Just a heads up for those who want to order from WHV's site. If you place a order starting tomorrow, you get a free $10 voucher good for a future purchase. There is no limit how much you have to spend to get the $10, just place a dvd/hd/br order. However note that any items will not ship til after September 5th (not really a problem if you're preordering the Kubrick films, or Blade Runner).

Damn...there's nothing I want to order right now :bomb:

ok hopefully someone can answer this.

I just bought 300 on Bluray and i have a PS3 running via HDMI to my 27" Hdtv i have in my room.

Question is with the normal composite * Red, White, Yellow* Cables that came with the ps3 can i plug it into a completely SD tv and watch 300 on bluray in Standard Definition in the other room so i can watch it with my Family.

I havent moved my Ps3 yet but i will if nobody has tried this.

Thanks ahead of time for the help.

You can do it. It will look like a regular dvd though

yea it is gritty but thats the way it was filmed. I watched a few special features where it just shows people sitting there with reflections on there glasses it just shows the clarity.

lol i guess i get impressed easily though.

This might be slightly off-topic for this thread, but I'll ask anyway. I have Casino Royale and both Pirates movies among others in Blu-Ray. And I have the Matrix collection among others on HD-DVD.

I've been considering 300 on HD-DVD, but really wasn't THAT impressed with the film and have been holding out for some of the movies I'll consider must haves in the coming months.

But Planet Earth, while not my normal kind of show/movie, is said to be just incredible. I still haven't broken down and purchased either version. Is there a consensious on which version is best... HD or Blu? And which narrator is better? I've heard many people perfer the british narrator as opposed to Miss Weaver. Would most people here agree? Can I still get the original US version through the WB website?

Thanks to all in advance.

Ordered Donnie Brasco Blu-Ray for $6.90 shipped on Buy.com with GCO. Can't really beat that price, it's cheaper than the DVD version! :applause:

The difference is minimal, and since Blu-Ray version is cheaper go for that. It makes more sense to build a Blu-Ray collection anyway since it'll probably be the ultimate winner in the format wars.

The special features on the 300 HDdvd are awesome so are the extras on Hot Fuzz. But if that doesn't matter get BD. Also better than 300 with better sound and pic(and film making) TMNT or The Host.

I suggest return to house on haunted hill. Looks like a damn fun party movie/game.
Can preorder the Spiderman Trilogy from this site for $69.99. Not too bad of a price, but I am unsure if Amazon will be cheaper. Hope this helps anyone looking to get their preorder in early!

Day/Dawn of the Dead on BR only?

/cry

What's with the quality of BRD cases? The logo use to be part of the plastic mold with a nice silver paint, but it seems like they are all just stamped grey logos now.
