Still debating...Though If I sell my 300 copy it would be the HD DVD/DVD version not the non-combo version that's included with the A3. I hate combos.

Well, I decided last night that I would simply get to Wal-Mart at some point, and if they had it, I buy it; if not, oh well, I already have the 360 add-on and really shouldn't spend another $100. This has got to be the one time I was thankful I live in a hick town where no one has internet access.
So I stroll in around 12:30 and there are TWO on the shelf. Picked it up as a christmas gift for my g/f. Not sure if she'll want it, but it was fate at this point. Then I went to the pawn shop and grabbed Zelda Collector's Disc for $10. Missing the manual, but still.

I ended up ordering the A3 from BB.com then, The Aviator and Shrek 3 as my freebies. I might just end up giving this A3 to my sister for Xmas, I'll see. But I figured we *might* not see the $100 price after Walmart is sold out, and after all the free DVDs with the A3, my net cost won't end up being more than $20 or so more than the A2 at Walmart.

Now to pick it up at BB, return an A2 to Sears, and I'm going to finally sit down and enjoy this damned thing. :D
 
I think I read earlier in the thread that someone said they heard a manager say the prices will be valid until Sunday if there is any product left in the store. Did anyone else hear/confirm that as well. I had a situation today that left me very mad, and I wasn't able to get what I wanted movies wise and I'm hoping that another store near me would still have some of the movies left that I wanted if the prices were still valid tomorrow.

Well HDMI with the A2 and I was using component with the Add On.
 
so given the specs that linkin posted.... will the A2 play my backups/burns? I assume it wouel as even $20 dvd players do but its not listed on the A2 and is listed on the A3....?

Anyone know for sure?
 
I think I am going to bite on the A3 at BB, but what movies should I add on. I was thinking The Shinning, but I can't decide on anything else. I already have Knocked Up and Transformers.

It works on preorders so If you're looking for Shrek The Third, Aviator, Old School, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Twister...any preorder on the Best Buy site, it works...too bad they don't have Bourne Ultimatum up yet.

It is until Sunday. They left the tag on mine and it says that the price is valid from 11/2 - 11/4.
 
Yeah I just got the email from BB for the switch from A2 to A3. Can you change to store pick up online or do you have to call in order to do this? Anyone know? For $100 that's a no brainer, I'll take this deal.

how do i use the google cache to get the a3 for the a2 price or something like that? i am confused. will someone help me out with this :bouncy:
 
just got off the phone with BB for Business. They said there's a good possibility of the A3 being replace onto the A2 orders but you won't receive the 2 in-store movies for free. Also IIRC, does Bourne Identity and 300 come package with the player?
 
Yeah, I called and it's too late to switch to instore pickup and the CSR also didn't let me get the extra 2 free movies. Still, I can't complain getting the A3 for $100. The CSR said it should ship out by tomorrow.

i dont know how you can not get 300 and bourne since they are packed inside..

i was never given an option for instore pickup though...

I was just talking with Cleaver and I bought up that BB isn't known for their price honoring are they? It says excluding Pre-Orders in the deal section, so do you think they would catch that it was a pre-order and cancel it? I was thinking about using pre-orders as well, but then I thought of that.

Right on the box there is a small picture that shows 300 and Bourne Identity as free inside.
 
Went by WM today at around 11:15 since I was just looking for the movies. I saw this one guy pushing a cart with an A2 in it and asked him where he got it at. he pointed out the display and told me he actually got the last one. The movie selection wasn't amazing. They had about 8 titles, but only two of the ones I was wanting. I picked up Casino and 12 Monkeys.

I later ran by the one across town and they didn't even have the movies out on display. The lady pulled out a little box from behind the counter and showed me what they had, which was actually a worse selection.

Moral of the story, if anyone picked up an extra copy of Blood Diamond, I'll gladly take it off your hands. I could probably still very easily get Casino, The Big Lebowski, Lucky # Sleven, or Clerks II as both store had a good selection of both.
 
I'm going to burn a CD for the Update. Were my player is there is no network there. Everything I own that needs the internets is wireless.
 
So how many people with the A2 Are happy with it? I think i should have bought a better movie than 12 monkeys to really expierence it heh. I am going to be buying Hott Fuzz Since its the NEW KING of HD as the AVS boards are saying heh.
