Heroes Volume 3: Villains
I know I brought this up at least two other times, but does anyone else suspect Marvel Universe-esque secondary mutations with the second coming of the eclipse? If not, I guess that's how people get back their powers?
I think it's just going to end up being the formula that gives everyone their powers back. I assume that the perfected formula would give Peter back the exact same power that he had before.
Arthur has too much power. Exactly how could he be taken down without it being crappy?

EDIT: Why was the African killed off? Did that serve some other purpose than a gratuitous display of power? Yeah, Arthur could kill somebody with one of his fifty superpowers. Big deal.
Like I hinted, the only way for it to work is for the Haitian to come in and stand there coolly, which is why I feel like he's next. Especially being in on the first attempt with Angela to off him.

And as for killing the only character who knows what's going to happen and how to stop him, and has been helping the handful of characters capable of doing so? Makes sense, but doesn't make it any less awful.

That all assumes the "bad guys" are truly trying to destroy the world.

How about we do something different in TV shows for once?

How about Arthur capture the African and seek the African's advice on preventing the problem caused by giving people powers?

Take the encounter with the Master at the end of Fallout for example. Was it more satisfying to kill the Master with a turbo plasma rifle or to talk the Master into committing suicide?

I know: A cerebral TV show in prime time will have poor ratings.

Except he doesn't need to do any of that, he could just steal his power and paint the future himself. Combine that with Sylar's power he got from Peter he could nudge the future in different directions easily now. I just didn't like African Issac so his death was a step in the right direction for me.

If they kill off the Haitian and Kristen Bell, I may stop watching.

I sometimes wonder how the Haitian has survived as long as he has, anyone carrying a basic firearm could have killed him while he was posing.

Why rip his head off? Steal his power and the African is just one of billions living outside of civilization.

Why not steal everybody's powers instead of assembling a team?

The African's death was death for the sake of death.

for some reason, I get the feeling that the African will become a philosopher in his own plane of existence. Eat the goop and go on a spirit walk that takes you to him kind of thing

My best guess, he knew too much. Like Issac he could have a few dozen paintings sitting around telling all sorts of future events. He assembled a team for pretty much the same reason someone like Magneto or Apocalypse does, sure he could do it himself but every major villain needs cronies to do the grunt work while they do more important stuff.

I don't know what this says about the show, but even with a character's head cut off, I don't believe they're really DEAD yet. I mean, how many "deaths" have they done already? Ando, Parkman, Petrelli (2 different ones), etc. So now if someone dies, I give them a 3 show time out, and if they don't pop back up by then, I kinda figure they're dead...for the season.

Please don't give them ideas. :whistle2:(

If anyone actually thought ando was dead...wow
If anyone actually thought ando was dead...wow
That's what I was thinking, Hiro without Ando, is just insane. I think Ando may actually get a power, with the way the writers are, in the next eclipse.

Also, what about the Parkman thing? The episode this year or what? I figured he had used his ability this year, when he told Daphne to trust him.

maybe, but in the new episode, they mentioned sylars actual powers is to transfer powers from one person to another. he probably just gives him his powers back. takes it from arthur somehow

edit:

kristen bell and haitian = win, but where was daphne???

Down in Kokomo with Tracy.

So there was some electricity between Sylar and Ellie tonight...

All jokes aside, a somewhat solid episode aside from the stupidity of Claire. I think the loss of Peter's powers helped him realize he actually had a brain. Next week's episode looks very interesting, although I'm not 100% sure on the premise.

Yea the whole anti power thing eh....All I can say is 1. Wanted to see Elle get freaky with Sylar and 2. That fungus on Seresh is NASTY.

And damnit to whoever bumped this thread! I was looking through nine pages for it
So is the general consensus S3 sucks? I watched S1 and S2 and didnt even bother with 3.
No it doesnt suck. Its better than 2 but no where near 1. Its fun. Kinda like a scifi movie. It may not win awards but sometimes you just want a fun movie. Thats what this is like. The stories make you go what???? sometimes but its still interesting to see where they are going

So, Claire finally has a purpose!?!

I feel like they need to kill some people off/consolidate some stories so we can see more than a minute of each person's storyline.

The lifespan of a pre-cog apparently is really short considering they keep killing them off within a few episodes. Anyone else think we're going to be introduced to another one thanks to them bringing back the 9th wonders comic?

With Arthur watching Sylar & Elle on the CCTV and Parkman & Daphne in Angela's head anyone else think he's a pervert?

I'm wondering what point Hiro serves in the storyline now. It feels like they are trying to put him back on the track he was on in S1 by lobotomizing him.

I guess we won't be seeing anymore of badass, sword wielding future Hiro. I am curious to see what the next eclipse does though, looks like it takes away the powers of those with them already, maybe it gives powers to others.

I couldn't believe 9th Wonders got brought back again, how many damn issues did he make in advance?

Glad I wasn't the only one getting the pervert vibe, it was just a funny transition

In those two situations Arthur is just so creepy. He was just silent and watching attentively like a stalker.

It was a bit creepy, but I think that's the purpose.

Oh for the love of waffles. Someone tell me they didn't just choose the most convenient, uncreative way to Nerf the power of Hiro. Hello, Wanda Maximoff.

"Claire, I don't want you to help me, but I'm okay with you risking your life to let me escape."

"Claire, please ignore this weird sexual tension between us---until I get the ability to wipe out memories."

Kristen Bell is electric. It was nice to see Parkman do something of value in an episode. And, holy M-Day, Batman! I guess the eclipse will take away the powers of those who attained them naturally, and those who will remain powered will be those who received their powers by artificial means.

With the way her tits were bouncing this episode I can't blame Peter for getting a stiffy

Seriously though its hard to remember that is supposed to be her uncle , he never pulls rank and says dammit stay here and listen to your elders!

I bet the one time he does pull rank he'll say, "Damn it, Claire! Listen to me for once! Now, take off your top!"

:whistle2:#
sylar's new ability is just idiotic,

Ehh I think it will add to the story that he can take/move (as said in the past episode) powers now. This is much better than using heart to make someone change their mind and pick up their litter.

Oh well, this new eclipse next episode will ruin all the fun anyway. Maybe they ran out of money for special effects.

Heh, I somehow get the feeling that Sylar's gonna have some business time with Elle soon.

I was kind of pissed that Arthur screwed up Hiro's mind pretty bad... Did he steal the Haitian's power or something? WTF? At least he hasn't learned that JoJo isn't printed in Weekly Jump anymore...

Great now comes more whining next week! Blergh! I have no powers!
Weren't some of them whining about their powers for most of the series?!

So I guess that child Sylar had in the future was the son of Elle?

Heroes is getting really stupid. I am watching it just to see how bad it gets. Its like watching a train wreck.
Great now comes more whining next week! Blergh! I have no powers! Weren't some of them whining about their powers for most of the series?!
Perhaps they'll be more appreciative of their abilities now instead of farting around with them. Or, perhaps they'll all start packin' heat and it will turn into something inspired by the likes of John Woo.

Anyone else wonder why Primatech was for the most part empty? I figured there would be a few people there to watch over the remaining inmates of level 5.

If the heroes are going to to be powerless the next episode I kinda hope they we see some more of the company agents, if there are any left besides Noah & the Haitian.

Good episode. Looks like the two sides are set for the most part now.

Hiro being a 10 year old (mentally) is lame, hope that plot line doesn't run too long.

I liked last nights episode...all but the 10 year old Hiro portion. No idea what the point of that was. Arthur could have killed and/or taken his powers. How and why does he just mentally retard Hiro back 18 years? A lot of these twists have made very little sense.

But it seems like they are getting on the right track, next weeks episode looks great. Some fresh writers will come in, and maybe we'll get some thrill back. We're finally seeing the sides align and it's all leading towards some unknown point. Arthur says he's trying to save the world, so who is right? It's a promising lead finally. I'm hoping for a lot of HRG next week. He's been used very little this season with all the big power stuff going on. Personally I'd love to see him just run rampant through the depowered characters. Bring everyone back to equal and the guy with the plan (HRG) becomes very dangerous.

+Sylar character development. The sudden good guy turn is a bit forced, but Quinto is playing it well I think.
+Hazy future event with the eclipse. Some of those paintings looked cataclysmic. Perhaps the moon starts to draw towards Earth? Could cause that big end of world that Hiro saw in the future.
+Nathan having a little bit of balls

-How the hell does Daphne love Parkman already? Greg Gruenberg's (sp?) momma don't even love him.
-Could we simply write some characters out for a change? Having so many characters killed for their powers was a nice scary touch in S1, but now? Having some Omega level characters here like Arthur only means any future villains lose their credibility as a threat. Unless you go OVER the top again, and then you may as well start lining the sharks up. But even that you could save by having Claire jump the sharks in a two piece.

well, a few episodes ago i thought that peter had the same ability as his dad. now im thinking sylar has it. i wouldnt say empathy is his new power, so much as it is the key to using it (stealing powers)

yeah, this part of the show i was like, W T F. lets see, they talked at an airport, mind fucked knox and now theyre in love? give me a break. the writers could of at least done something where he saves her or some rubbish like this, but evidently walking around for a couple days is love.

at least sylar and elle makes sense because of the flashback they threw in a coulpe weeks ago, and like above id conjecture elle is his babys mama.

Next week's episode appears to be a 2 parter. My guess is the next 2 episodes may be the last before the winter hiatis begins, but I may be wrong.

Claire + catalyst + formula = Peter + powers. Guessing "The Company" tries to kidnap Suresh and the formula.

Give the guy some credit...maybe he's taking his game up a notch by making people think he's going soft but he's playing house $$$$a till its time to fuck things up.

From Wikipedia, there are four more episodes before the break. Someone took out the spoiler information for the next two episodes from the wiki last night/this morning, but I would still be careful for anyone reading the stuff from the wiki.

Spoilers from the wiki
There will be more HRG and Haitian, although they are not together in the next episodes.

Craptastic show.

Elle and Sylar only work because of the last episode. She let go of somebody killing her Dad in a matter of minutes. I guess Bob wasn't a good Pop.

Claire is the catalyst. Nothing like a last minute plot device to perform a little series CPR.

Does anybody think it is odd that a person with super speed falls in love with fattest and, presumably, slowest member of the cast? Is it a desperate ploy to keep chunky fanboys from leaving the good ship Heroes?

Didn't you hear? It'll be the central plot for Ando and Hiro's spin-off titled "Waffles!"
So I guess that child Sylar had in the future was the son of Elle?
That would make sense. I guess Elle dies doing something for Sylar, or something.

This will happen. It'll be a huge hit and run for several seasons.

This will never happen. The show will be canceled long before this happens.
Oh, I hope Kristen Bell's character lives, FOC. She's a good, attractive actress... who's hot.

Bell is meh to me.

I don't like the other new girl, Daphne, either. I just don't dig women with lice.

I think both are very attractive myself. Just please say you wouldn't go for Maya. In the span of 24 hours she lost her thick accent and started hanging out at the mall. Just flipping annoying.

I'm kinda curious about the whole eclipse giving people powers thing. Adam had his power long before any of the other characters, so just how long has this eclipse been giving people powers?

Also, what did Claire jumping out of a building accomplish? How did that prove "she was defensive player of the year"? I thought she would set the place on fire, blow it up. or push the guys our of the building or something. Instead, all she did was jump out of a window and pretty much lead them right to Peter without slowing them down. Maybe it shocked them or they spent a good minute laughing their ass off at how dumb she was or something, but she really didn't buy Peter much time.

To be fair Elle's father was a dick, always has been . She was already mentally unbalanced by her first appearance so her letting go of him didn't bother me much.

As for Daphne and Matt, that was probably the worst writing on the show to date and came completely out of nowhere, my first thought was didn't they just meet 2 days ago? She must really be starved for affection if a few hugs was all it took to get an I love you out of her. Scene could have easily been cleaned up by changing "love" to 'like you a lot."
