Uhhh, wasn't it always based on luck?
fuck yeah, John Stockton was a straight-up ghangsta. If that son busted outta the hotel and was just dunking on fools, Star Ocean 3 would be at least 40 times better than it was.
40 times better than -12 is even worse! -480!

And the biggest twist of all? JOHN STOCKTON ISN'T REAL! Broken hearts everywhere.

Maybe it's good you missed the livecast, Inu--JimmieMac was talking up a storm about how good GTAIV is and all the spoilerish stuff made my ears bleed. Had to stop listening at that point.

Plus, the mods could not figure out how to ban spammers and other a-holes. It was rough in there.

GTAIV sounds like it will rock extremely fuck ing hard like Jenna Haze Tera Patrick and Jessie Jane on me, I'm so excited now, I will go pick it up during the midnight launch.

I forgot about the Live Cagcast thingy, mind you I'm in the UK now so the time didn't really suit.

Has anyone tried the Operation Darkness demo on Live?
I did but I got a bit bored with it. I wanted to like it but the camera angles made moving the characters a bit annoying. I couldn't figure out how to open a map showing the entire battlefield.

Started playing Blazing Angels 2 last night, seems a bit better than the first one, enjoying it so far.
As a GS employee I can confirm that we get a lot of new 360 titles back quickly. But honestly, it happens with every console at my store. There is a large amount of people that buy a game, then trade it in as soon as the next big game comes out.

My store is going to be a treasure trove after the GTAIV launch.
That happens to many 360 games. Not because they are bad (because they aren't), but I have noticed a trend where many (not all) 360 fans do buy games around release, play it and beat it, then trade it in and get something else. I could have done the same to LO, but I was really wanting a new 360 game to play and it was around release, so I did it. Plus, I'd say roughly half the last gen games I ditched for it, no one would have wanted.
I hate people that do that shit.

They lose so much money doing that.
Yeah, I know and it's why I kind of hate ditching new releases like that. But for some of us, it's just easiest to get rid of games to GS instead of selling online because you don't have to worry about getting scammed (Me getting scammed out of my Shadow Hearts, Wild Arms: Alter Code F, Super Robot Taisen: OG, and two other GBA games here still sucks), having to deal with paying for shipping supplies and sending stuff out to various people, and so on. Just easier to do sometimes, but then again I don't have an ebay sellers account (only buyers).
just played some new COD4 maps with CAGs. They were ok, and it will take some time for them to grow on me.
I'll get them too, like I said in the CoD4 thread.
Mana that copy of DDR2U was gone. :(
:whistle2:( Oh well, looks like I'll be buying the bundle unless I spot it at a GS. I have a feeling I'll see it today, after the coupon, at a GS in my hometown.

Why am I up this early (It's 6:25AM)??

Yeah, I'm usually just getting home from work at that time :p I love being up early morning right before the sun rises. Best time for me to play video games. (Well, maybe not online multiplayer games, but for single-player games it is great.)

Played alot of Etrian Odyssey. I'm gonna make a big push to get done with the game before the sequel is released in June. So far, I've just made it to B10.

I didn't even know there was a Demo for it. I guess I'll check it out later.

Edit: I just tried the demo for the a bit and I have to agree with you that camera is a real problem. Also could they have chosen a worse place for the demo to take place? that battlefield feels to large...

I dont hate when people trade in older games, and stuff towards newer games.

Its the whole trading whatever came out last week for this weeks flavor of the week that really bothers me.

I just got 2 copies of Advance Wars. 1 for my friend on this birthday and one for my self.

I was kind of disappointed in it. The camera was terrible, and I got pretty far until a tank appeared and killed a bunch of my characters in one shot.

I will try it out, but the camera seems bad so I dunno.

I just got my characters to level 50 in Lost Odyssey, and im not even on disc 3 yet.

bleh guess i can wait on mk
How is this different than any other Mario Kart? In games when you have lightning and blue shell, luck of the draw factors in to at least an equal portion with skill.

I'm interested to see what kind of legs the battle mode has. The DS battle mode sucked I thought as they burned the "revenge bomb" of 64 into a happy little "LET ME GIVE YOU AN ITEM BOX!" thing. Lame. The only-team thing is odd too, but I'll be interesting to see how it plays. I enjoy time rather than stock in Smash Bros. as it lets all of us play the whole match, regardless of skill. Similar idea behind this team battle I think.

GGT Mario Kart this Sunday!

Yep, that was my main worry with this game and overall a reason I got rid of the Wii.

Simplifying things with motion controls inevitably leads to dumbing games down as the motion controls just aren't as precise or flexible (less buttons accessible) than a traditional controller. Sure there are other control options, but that doesn't matter when the game has been dumbed down for the lowest common control denominator. There's just no way the tilt controls for a racing game can offer the precision of an analog stick, so the game is going to control more loosely in all likelihood even if you opt for a different control option.

Oh well, they're making money hand over fist, so it's working for Nintendo. And there are two consoles out there still doing gaming the way I like so it's all good I guess!

More HSG and GT5P for me last night.

Also tried out the echochrome demo. The analog control feels slow to me. Seems like I can't rotate the playing area fast enough. It's interesting, though. There's a kind of "Portal" vibe in all that minimalism.

No MK for me. I'm not sure if there's any more Wii games coming out this year that I have any interest in, besides Shikigami III and any VC retro surprises. In fact, I think even Star Soldier R went Wiiware, and I don't even know what I'm going to do about that...

You did see that R1 rotates faster, right? Also the Sixaxis seems to make it rotate very quickly... too quickly.

Look at what ManaKnight came home with today.

RockBand.jpg

:D

I got it at Meijer for $120 today. They price matched CC at $150. They had 20% off of General Merchandise, so I got this deal. :D

If you must, you must. Especially since you really seem to not be able to play through it. Maybe you can get a bit more off someone on CAG?
Too bad you can't use GH3 guitars on it :(

But at least you can get those really cool guitars coming out later this year :)
So what, I don't have Guitar Hero III on PS3 and currently have no plans to buy it. However, I may buy a Nyko guitar eventually.

I got it on PS3 since that's what most of my friends have, which made the choice easy.

Yeah. Its that EB Canada (I hate them) but they have TONS of crazy ass price drops, like Halo 3 LE for $10 NEW. I'm thinking of Trading Zelda and Halo 3 reg in and getting some games.
So, Zelda and The Phantom Hourglass really sucks. I can't play it.
Should I trade it in for $20?
Yeah, I had a hard time suffering through it, I'd ditch it. $20 is pretty good. It's 450 points on Goozex which is the equivalent of $22.50, but with cost of shipping it out you're pretty much back to $20.

Plus there are a good bit offered and no requests, so mine's just been sitting there.
Hori guitar controllers?
Not Hori, there are some new model official Rock Band controllers that haven't been unveiled yet. I'm sure MTV or something will cover it soon.
LULZ.

Don't get the Nyko guitar.

Wait for the GOOD ones to be released in a few months. Expect a press release soon.
Naw, the Nyko one I hear is actually very good, according to PS3Fanboy.

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/04/13/ps3-fanboy-hands-on-nykos-frontman-guitar/

They said it works great with GHIII, Rock Band, and even works for PS2 GH games that didn't work with any other adapter (which makes it appealing, since I still have the first GH on PS2). They said it's better than the GH and RB guitar.
How does Goozex work? I never even looked into it. Does the GGT enjoy it?!
It's just a game trading site. You spend points to request games, and for each game you request and get matched up you use one trade credit which you pay the site $1 for.

You get points by trading games. You list games you want to trade, they match you up with someone that wants your game, and you send it to them and get the points. You can also buy points at $5 per 100 points with some discount for buying in larger sums.

I've been doing it just for a couple of weeks and have loved it so far. I've gotten rid of 10 games so far, gotten 1 and have 3 more in the mail on their way to me with another pending seller acceptance.

Only problem some have is the point values for a lot of older games (i.e. last gen) is just 100--so the $5 worth of points you get isn't really worth it after shipping. But on the flipside, you get good deals in requesting games as there are a decent amoun of last gen games you can get for 100 points. I've traded a few 100 point games, they were just gathering dust and at least I didn't have to set foot in Gamestop to get ripped off for them.

Two more levels in Resistance to go!

Good game, I definitely enjoyed it so far, I doubt the last two levels will be horrible. Was just the right length too... in fact, it actually left me wanting a little bit more.

OH SNAP! I may have to check out your imitation instrument skills online now.

Interesting. But, unless it works with GH3 AND RB I'm not interested since I have both.

Here's my opinion on 100pt games. Send out 10 of them.
10games x 100pts = 1000pts.
~$3 to ship each game 10 games x $3 = $30.

So you can still get a fairly recent game for $30 or less. But, some people might not see it being worth the effort.
ps3fanboy lol... oh well, just wait and see I guess. GL to u :)
It' actually my most looked at site for news, and I actually do know some writers at the site.

Got Dawn of War: Soulstorm. God I love Dawn of War. Can't wait for the sequel. Or actually, I can, because I just got this expansion.

I'll prolly get Fes tomorrow or something. No matter what I won't start it till after my last final on Monday.

Thats cool. I know some on PS3/PSP fanboy too, I had dinner with them in LA at Insomniac and when we went to Sony Media Day recently... how do you know them?

EDIT:

man, i was wondering when your birthday was.

i thought it was after mine. i guess it's right before. =)

I didn't read IGN's review because it's a 7 page monstrosity, but GTA4 is probably good? Maybe they did fix that shit that was broken before...

I'm waiting for the inevitable PC version.

Early Happy Birthday to you! See you at Anime Expo in July?
Early Happy Birthday to you! See you at Anime Expo in July?
I've been hearing that it's bad luck to wish people an early happy birthday? Hahah. =)

Yes, AX in July. Hopefully this time, Orochi and I can actually catch up to you. He said he went to Roscoe's one time for E3 and you guys were there too. He also keeps asking me to ask you to hook him up with joysticks...

I'll be working crew, which basically means I get staff access and I can help out whenever I want, so yay to that...

Ok, no early Happy Birthday anymore! I didn't know it was bad luck. So.... yea...

I'm excited about both AX and Comic-Con...

And tell your homie SD sez wassup!

I'm bored now, going home from work!!!

EDIT: Random. Been playing Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles for the DS more lately. The story/gameplay is pretty good. The game is going to be $20 when it comes out. I think if you like graphic adventures/mystery type games you'd enjoy it!

Pretty lengthy too IMO.

Hmm... that Jake Hunter description sounds less enthusiastic than before...
Sorry it's been a long day. -_-

But yea. It's good, but not great. One of those ya know?
Interesting... my buying decision is... not as certain now.

Still considering it, though.

Really wish I'd brought my computer back from school... gotta wait till Monday to play Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Dawn of War: Soulstorm...
