28 Days Later. It's freaky when he's walking around town, then goes into a church, yells "Hello?" and some of the dead people in the church turn to look at him as zombies....

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - 4/5

Sweet & Sour I loved it but it was very flawed. I liked that it is not a remake but a different outlook on a classic. Depp did a great job making a peculiar but not creepy Wonka. The songs in CatCF are weak but funny, but the score is awful. The Score sounds like he recycled a bit from all his other movies and remixed them and stuck them in CatCF. I am being crucial CatCF is a great flick but Burton is stuck in his own ways. Burton somehow made CatCF the most vivant colorful, dark movie I have ever seen.

2ldk is a great movie...its about 2 young and aspiring actresses who live together.they both are striving for the same role and the same boyfriend. they dont even know it either. then all hell breaks loose..check it out

Seuol Raiders was decent but i would still rather watch 2ldk over it.

saw Hustle & Flow today. Great film. I really hope people go out and see this and not deem it as some "dumb rap movie". It's a very good drama with some amazing performances.

Prozac Nation - 3.5/5

How can a freshman with a scholarship Harvard go through deep depression? Anyways Prozac Nation is a solid movie that has it's slow moments. Ricci is great as usual.

The g/f and I watched Million Dollar Baby last night. We liked it. We probably would have enjoyed it more had the end not been spoiled for us beforehand.

From someone who's studied depression for a while, I can tell you it's not always a result of the environment. In many cases, it can be caused by something beyond control like genetics or brain chemistry. I haven't seen the movie yet, Netflix is slow with shipping, so I can't comment on how the film deals with it. But, just clarifying, since you ended the sentence with a question mark.;) Once again, not trying to be an ass in the least, just clearing it up for you.

I was being a smartass but thanks for the clarification ;) The movie shows why she was having depression (normal reasons, shitty parents, childhood).

The movie was shit on so I would like to read what you thought of it so make sure you put it in your blog.

I just got back from seeing 'The Island'... All I have to say is GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

When I first saw the previews for this movie, I thought it was going to be stupid, and I wondered why anyone would go see it, however, that all changed with the new set of previews that they showed. I was pretty excited to go see it after seeing the previews repeatedly throughout the day at work the past few days.

This movie is not only a visual treat on the eyes (thanks to the folks at ILM according to the credits - go figure.), it's a vision brought to life, and done with class.

It starts off a little slow at first, but it picks up rather quickly and doesn't stop until the end, and boy what a ride it is. Not only is the action great, it also brings to question the thought of ethics. Similar to Gatica if you ever saw that. Again throughout the whole movie I was pretty much enthralled.

Ewan McGregor does a great job in this movie, as expected. There are some bits of comedy too that break the action up a bit. Then we have Scarlett Johansson... She's succulent and amazingly beautiful. However, they also showed the V for Vendetta preview which had my ultimate heart warmer in it, Natalie Portman, so I was already in good spirits.

I can't rave about this movie enough. I'd recommend everyone to go see it, it's easily one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. However, I can tell you that not everyone is going to like it - it's going to be one of those hate it or love it type of movies. Don't let this one pass you by like you let Equilibrium (another movie of this caliber) pass you by. This is going to be the sleeper hit of the year I think.

Enjoy

edit: Forgot to mention that some of the camera angles used in this movie were very different... I liked them a lot.

Eraserhead

Um, yeah, wow. Utterly bizarre, visually and aurally outstanding, and one of the most intense cinematic experiences that I have have ever, uh, experienced. Far more unsettling and horrific than any horror movie I've seen. A surreal masterpiece. Unlike other David Lynch films that I've found disappointing (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Dr), this was everything that I had hoped for from him.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith - meh
War of the Worlds - Train passing and fight for the van were my favorite parts.
Elephent - HBO movie about some kids who shoot up a school.

The Machinist

Somebody buy that man a fucking cheeseburger. 63 pounds, folks. Bale lost 63 pounds for this movie. I was impressed by the weight yo-yoing DeNiro had to do for Raging Bull, but this puts that to shame.

The Wedding Crashers--Had some hilarious dialogue, but the movie was about 15 minutes too long. Vince Vaughn definitely had the best lines.
