I was being a smartass but thanks for the clarification ;) The movie shows why she was having depression (normal reasons, shitty parents, childhood).

The movie was shit on so I would like to read what you thought of it so make sure you put it in your blog.
I just finished Prozac Nation and am working on my thoughts. I'll just say that I thought it was great, and I'm really pleased at how they handled the subject matter.

Edit: I'm quicker than I thought.

Superfly

Ugh, I did not have good luck trying to watch movies yesterday. I started watching Wings of Desire, but the disc was bad, so when I got about an hour and a half into it, it wouldn't play. Then, a couple of hours later, I start up Superfly, and a little over an hour into it, the power goes out. By the time it came back, about an hour later, I had already gone to bed, so I ended up finishing it this morning.

Four Rooms 7.5-8/10 - I like this movie, a lot. I'm not really sure what it is, since the movie really isn't that good, but still I find to be a very enjoyable, light hearted flick. Tim Roth as Ted the Bellhop is hilarious. He truly has a handle for slapstick. Some of the rooms I didn't really care for though such as the second. The last two are excellent. The fourth room is so appparent that it is Tarentino and his writing that it isn't even funny, and it makes for a great ending. I think that's part of why this movie is great, it delivers in the ending and ends with a bang. The third room truly reminded me of Rodriguez. The first room was kind of so-so meh. The acting was pretty terrible in the first segment. Why they took Madonna is beyond me for this one. It was enjoyable, but no where near as good as the last two. It actually felt rather annoying, kind of unfunny really, and didn't have a life, a soul, any flavor as the other rooms had. Really the first two rooms were lacking and felt as thought they are missing something. My suggestion is either to fast forward or just chooose the chapter of the third and fourth segments/rooms.

Overall though, I must say that my favorite room was the third entitled "The Misbehaviours" directed by Robert Rodriguez.

The soundtrack to this movie really compliments it well.

The Transporter - 5-6/10 Rented this one in anticipation of the upcoming release of the second movie and thought this movie was terrible. I really wanted to like this film, but I just couldn't. I mean the action sequences are great and this is one of those flicks where your obviously supposed to turn off your brain, but if turn it back on at any moment, bam the movie is gone. One instance of this is when The Transporter and the Chinese woman who he rescues (can't think of their names) escape from his home underwater and you see them swimming in the ocean, and when they come out at the next home, they are in full wet suits. No where in the movie does it show them changing their clothes or even having wet suits. There's just too many of these little plot holes and instances through out the movie that it becomes very unbearable.

Jason Statham isn't bad in the title role, but the supporting cast is absolutely terrible, minus the actor who plays the inspector, and the story is pretty bad. I think the writers came up with this great character, but no way of creating a story around him.

Planet of the Apes

1968 version, no crappy remakes here. I must say, I loved it. I know I'm going to have to buy it sometime, it's got all the makings of a sci-fi classic that'll I want to see a bunch of times: some solid characters; social commentary, not necessarily subtle; intruiguing universe; science vs. religion; cool looking apes; seriously overacting Charlton Heston, what's not to love?

American Psycho - Awesome movie. 9/10. Christian Bale as Batemen is excellent. I really need to get a copy of this movie instead of renting and borrowing my friend's copy all the time. To the next DDD sale it is!

Destry Rides Again

Great western that doesn't take itself too seriously. An excellent performance by Stewart, although his character is a bit inconsistent. My only major problem with it was the ending, which ended up being way too cliched, and rather unsatisfying. Still a very enjoyable and worthwhile film.

Assassination of Richard Nixon - Disappointing ending after spending the entire movie building it up

Man of the House - eye candy

Guess Who - meh

The Jacket - Very good movie.
Princess Mononoke

One of those "where have you been all my life!?" movies.
I just rented this and watched it again yesterday. And yup, I agree with that comment.
The Machinist

Somebody buy that man a fucking cheeseburger. 63 pounds, folks. Bale lost 63 pounds for this movie. I was impressed by the weight yo-yoing DeNiro had to do for Raging Bull, but this puts that to shame.
Agreed.

Heat - Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino are excellent. I loved this film. 9/10 all the way. The entire story is excellent and very enjoyable. The action sequences were great as well.

Plus, you get to see Henry Rollins blasted through a plate-glass window.

What seen was that. I don't remember seeing Henry Rollins, er...wait was he the one bonds guy's body guard right?

He's in the film for a total of about 12 seconds. I forget the exact context, but he's in a white room in an apartment, and he's shot and falls through a glass door.

I Am Trying to Break Your Heart

Great film about the making of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. It's got a really nice atmosphere about it, and does a great job at showing what stupid idiots the corporates at Warner are.

Oh, and the music's great too :)

Yankee Doodle Dandy

Damn fun movie with a performance for the ages from James Cagney. Sure the movie's basically just WWII era flag waving propaganda, but who cares if the movie's great?
Family Guy Movie - Seemed like an extended episode. Widescreen would have made it feel like a movie.
yea, definatly. mabey just the small black bars on the top would have worked. Mabey there will be a widescreen version of the dvd.

Plus Natalie Portman :bouncy:   :hot:

Okay so she's young but who cares

No doubt I'm a little late on the discussion, but I just came back from The Island, which totally kicked ass. Although the plot seemed to be ripped a bit from the Matrix and Minority Report, neither of those had Scarlett.
IZO (no words can describe this  )
How was it? I've been wanting to see it for a while now.

I knew there was a reason I bought that one.

Like I said, no words can properly describe it. It's... out there. It's like they threw a bunch of random scenes together and just put it to film. Premise is a samurai's soul becomes a time-traveling demon that travels through various Japanese time periods killing everything from soldiers and zombies to modern day businessmen and high school girls  It's supposed to be political commentary I suppose on the state of modern Japan. The samurai is suppose to represent the Japanese ideal and thus must enforce his vengence on modern Japan for succumbing to Western imperialism... or I could just be reading too deep into it. But that's my best guess... otherwise it doesn't make any sense and makes the baby jesus cry.:hot:

Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story 1/5

I normally don't download movies... I am not even sure why I downloaded this one. For the record I am a FG fan.... somewhat, I was one of the few that was watching the FG when most were watching Friends. FG is great but only 23 minutes great. Damn I was bored to death watching this. It was funny but I can only watch so many flashbacks before I get utterly bored out of my mother-fucking skull. I am being far too kind giving it one star, but I was LOL every 10 minutes. Watch Beavis and Butt-Head do America, South Park, TinyToon Adventures, watch any movie but this!
(I am not trying to piss of FG fans this is only one mans opinion.)

Yeah, I saw this as well. But, I segmented it, I only watched 20-30 minutes at a time, so maybe that's why I enjoyed it more. I never expected it to be more than random gags like those in the show, strung together for an hour and a half. Some of it was hilarious, as FG tends to be. Pretty much the same as if I'd watched 3 or 4 episodes in a row, heh.
