I finished FFVII Crisis Core last night. What an ending. Wow. I didn't want it to be over, ever. I hope square is working on that FFVII remake.

I think I'd like the FFVII remake to use the Crisis Core battle system instead of the old one, just to keep it fresh. Just modify it to work better with three party members, maybe two are AI, while you switch back and forth controlling one.

:drool::drool:

I loved Persona 2 and this is now on my want list (after the mother 3 translation of course!) Always wondered a bit about what happened before eternal punishment.

holy shiz, that might make it out this year.

Yeah, I saw that shit about the Innocent Sin translation... I'll pick up the game when it's done and I guess... put it on my computer to play it then, or whatever I gotta do. Once again, I think it'd be nice if the Persona game headed to the PSP was just a Persona 2 compilation.

Anyway, I'll wait till tomorrow morning to get started on Persona 2 EP. Shit looks dark and depressing, and I love it.

How long is Persona 2? I might play that along with my playthrough of 3...

edit: yeah, better to wait until you have time to play the opening of P2. iirc, it's like an hour to the first fight.

I think doing it the way Eternal Sonata did it would be better. AI controlled characters would probably die fairly quickly.

Persona 2's supposed to be really long... like 40-50 hours I guess?

yeah, anything except just sticking with the old ATB system. It had it's day, but we've all played it plenty. After playing Crisis Core's more action based system, it'd be hard to go back to that menu/waiting for bars to fill nonsense.

The only thing I'm slightly envious of is the AC6 Flight Stick.

And as for tonight's gaming report: fuck the a-hole designer who thought up the GTA IV mission
Ruff Riders
.

I seriously want to kick that guy (or gal, but I'm assuming it's a guy) square up in his o-ring.

Although I bet he likes it that way. :p

it's not so much the mission itself, but the fact you have drive all over fuck ing town just to do it so you're pretty much screwed if you fuck it up and have to re-do it again. I have to say that by the time I did re-did it a fifth time, I ran that bitch Jayson down in less than 30 seconds, knocked his punk ass off his bike, and shot that fucker dead. That whole run through took about 3 minutes from the safehouse to the cluckin' bell to give D his dough...

Oh well, back to playing more GTAIV. :D

Good morning, GGT. I took a quick trip away for the last couple days, but I'm back. I haven't had much chance to play anything but the DS...a little Etrian Odyssey and some more AW: DoR. Hope to get thru some more LotR: 3rd Age today. That game just flies by, I'm already on the 2nd disc, but I'm kinda glad its so short. Anything real long and I know it would get real old and boring.

I have never played this ZOE game(s) so I cannot voice my opinion, but BattleClash was the best mech combat game I ever played. They really should put that up on the VC. SuperScope 6, hell yeah! I destroyed my old SuperScope bazooka a long time ago. Me and a friend rigged it to shoot bottle rockets. It seemed like a cool idea at the time.

I beat the first DQ last night in my quest to conquer the Loto/Erdrick trilogy. Now its on to DQ2. Someone is working on a translation of the DQ3 remake for the SNES. Hope that gets finished this year.

Sorry to break it to you, but they aren't (the original core FFVII team is too preoccupied with other projects right now). Personally, that's the last thing I want right now; considering all the retcon that the Compilation brought about, they'd likely find a way to shoehorn all that shit into a remake D:

Anyway, good morning all. Think I've decided on what to play next: a second full go-round with Devil May Cry. Also, probably not gonna go back to Rondo of Swords right away after all; once I see an RPG's credits roll, it's pretty much done for me.

aw come on.. dont' tell me seeing cloud heading into sector 6 at the end didn't make you want it at least a little..

FF7 could use some retconning, with the more confusing plot points like Cait Sith's character, Sephiroth's whereabouts for the first half of the game, (clones? copies? he's omnipresent?) better sound quality, and most importantly, translation.
Not hard! Just season'd ;)

After playing it for awhile/getting used to it you should have no probs! I can beat that game without dying now...
Okay...I'm still hoping for those Difficulty settings. Also, unlocking Sympony of the Night when it's ON THE BOX, just like Brawl forcing you to unlock Sonic and Snake is a terrible, terrible idea.

Yeah, that pretty much how a feel. I think FF7 could have been a much better game then it was. Anyway, it's only a matter of time before it gets remade. I'd imagine they'd choose to do a remake when all the FF7 love starts dying down. So that they can start milking it all over again.

Agreed on the translation and sound (and I also wouldn't mind the addition of Float materia and/or more tracks at Chocobo Square), but otherwise, I've debated stuff like Cait Sith's operation, Sephiroth's astral projection, etc. to death for the past eight years and have come to my own conclusions about several aspects of the game.

I mainly don't want Denzel, Shalua, etc. running around in FFVII, or certain details of the past that were retconned in Crisis Core, Before Crisis, Last Order, etc. (*cough*Nibelheim incident*cough*) to be warped beyond recognition in a remake.

Oh yeah, and I haven't played Crisis Core, nor have any plans to. Dirge of Cerberus made my brain hurt enough, and not just because of the terrible gameplay.

Sad, but true. At least Squeenix still makes original games once in awhile.

Possible good news from Kotaku:

Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel has told French magazine JeuxVideo that work on a sequel to one of the past decade's most underappreciated titles is underway. And not just underway, but it's been underway for around a year now, with 10-12 staff toiling away on pre-production duties.
Ubisoft hasn't green-lighted the project yet, but they would be stupid not to.
Sorry to break it to you, but they aren't (the original core FFVII team is too preoccupied with other projects right now).
Yeah, but whatever they're working on will probably suck. They should just ditch it and work on a remake.

Knowing Square Enix, you know damn well that a remake is coming... the only question is when.

They will whore each and every successful game as much as they can. I just wish they'd get to Chrono Trigger already.

A lot of 'em are working on the FFXIII games, which aren't coming out any time soon.

At any rate, my copies of FFVII still work, so I've no worries. I can happily ignore a remake (but will still complain about it, of course ;)).

Started DMC. Almost forgotten how ridiculously over the top it is... it's awesome.

Ditto. I don't even want a remake of Chrono Trigger... I just want the same thing, maybe with some Final Fantasy IV/V/VI Advance sorta additions to it.

I just want new content of some sort... =/ Like the PS1 version without loading or something. Just throwin' that shit up on VC doesn't accomplish anything, and honestly, I'm glad Square shuns that shit.
Nah, just give me the old games the way they were originally meant to be played. I'm a purist at heart.
But that would be on the SNES, not the VC.

Also, I hate teh VC.

If only I had the space, I totally would get a SNES

Only thing about VC I really haven't liked so far is the Wii's lack of storage space (of course). Otherwise, I find it to be a decent service.

what's up with guys going crazy over girls who play games? "i want someone to play games with?" if it were something competitive i don't really care who plays because it's all about the competition. i've met a lot of people running through competitive scenes and the friends i still have from those, it's because we do things outside of play games. i view RPGs in the same realm as novels... they make decent discussion points but it's not like it'll make something hotter.

all i care about is if she's hot, fun, and understands money. i know i got all 3 :D but yeah, i don't care if she's into hardcore gardening or is a bible-toter as long as she's cool to hang out with.

just kinda makes me sick seeing throngs of guys fall for girls just because they play games. or watch anime. maybe it's just the people i roll with.

kainzero: WHAT!? Doesn't it turn you on to see all the ugly girls into games/anime, I so LOVE them....

ANIME SEXPO COULDNT GET HERE ANY SOONER!

I ain't gonna lie, there are some pretty girls at AX, there are some ugly girls too. Guess which ones attract me?
I remember at one AX in the morning I was playing DOA XBV since my friends work the console gaming room (and AX idol... and a whole bunch of other stuff) and this hot chick in a bikini who was probably cosplaying as a DOA girl sat down and played.

Yeah I blanked her 15-0. That's what she gets, don't come into my house with that weak sauce.

For some reason people always tell me to get drunk and go to the AX dance. I was there for 5 seconds once and I don't know why it's really entertaining to see Gundams raving. Actually this year my friends want me to perform Lil Jon's "Get Low" at the dance. I don't know why. I'm still debating on whether I should.

I'm really beginning to think ugliness is a choice. The power of makeup and the gym and not eating garbage is incredible. And it's really not so much that anime / gaming chicks are ugly and fat, but how because they like games they become super hot for no reason.

I don't know if it's so much ugly chicks becoming hot as it is nicer to have a girl who has the same interests rather than one that just looks good. I know that's how I feel.

Oh and ZoE is not only the best mecha series out there, it's one of the best series out there in general. If ZoE3 comes out I will flip the fuck out. Trust me, none of you can possibly fathom how much I love those games.

Looking forward to AX, anyone other than me, B:L, kainzero going to attend this year?

You guys should! I hope that arcade room is around again.

Once again proving that I'm better than Apossum is the fact that I survived the first battle in Persona 2.

Though I have absolutely no idea how the battle system works.

back in my OC days I had a friend who looked damn near jus like her,

she was so hot, but her personality just had something in it that kept me from making any attempts to further a relationship...

she didnt answer the phone and never responded to my message... eh... I wonder what she doing now lol
