Well Myke I was totally wrong, and owe you a huge apology. I thought there was no way Matt Morgan would be eliminated. I feel so stunned, and ashamed of my previous comments that I shall offer you a bit of a "prize" for being right while the horse was oh so wrong. PM me sir

Oh by the way... Kenzo Suzuki was just released too... so much for my Tajiri/Kenzo team.

Maybe this is the only way Vince can afford to bring back Lesnar, or perhaps he's eliminating every jobber with the intentions of reuniting the brands and moving the shows off of Spike? Or he just wants to cut costs before the move? Hard to say how Vince's mind works sometimes. Either way he's just given TNA the opportunity it needed to load up their roster and perhaps secure a tv deal.
You know, I still understand your points. If you're as jacked up as Morgan is, Vince gives you ten times the opportunities to prove yourself. Granted, I do have a bit of that "I told you so" glow about me, but I'm really floored by The Dudleys.

As for the additional releases.

Spike was gone, the other Dudleyz fail to surprise me. They haven't been on tv, and besides I've always hated them. So, to me this isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing!

Dawn Marie isn't young and blonde enough to be retained with these Diva search girls.

They were just joking about Jannety being in jail, so I'm surprised he was even on the roster anyway.

I was actually going to guess that Haas was on his way out, but like Myke I forgot to mention it. Well with Gayda's departure all the TE1&2 crap are gone. Shame about Chris Nowinski, having to become a road agent due to his injuries. You'd think someone with a Harvard degree would pursue a better career though.

Obviously Morgan's release stuns me. Vince could've used this guy to do anything. He had a good look, and seemed decent in the ring. I guess with Big Show off of SD he couldn't think of anything for him? I don't know, real pity if you ask me.

Same with Kenzo, why trade him just to release him like that? Makes no sense at all.

At least Funaki still has a job.

From the sounds of it, it's to cut the costs. NBC Universal got the deal where they get the money for advertising on the show & commercials(which WWE got both with the SpikeTV deal), so they're not going to making that much money off the cable TV shows.

But the possibly of the brands merging would make sense, cause there will barely be any room for new superstars now for the separate shows.

As for Lesnar, as much as I hate to say it, I'd like to see him back.

FYI, if you didn't know, Dawn Marie's preganant. WWE got balls to fire someone who's got a kid on the way. :applause:

Dudley Boyz being released basically put the final nail in the coffin for the WWE Tag Team division. Now if they could release some of the divas, I'd be somewhat happy with the roster cuts(although if they let Stacy go, I'll be pissed).

Following the massive amount of wrestler cuts, World Wrestling Entertainment has signed Big Vito to a deal. Vito is a former WCW Tag Team & Hardcore Champion, working for WWF early in his career and then moving on to a brief run in ECW. He then was brought into WCW as one of The Mamalukes. Following the death of WCW, Vito kept active in wrestling and had a brief run in TNA during their weekly Wednesday night PPV days.

Vito is currently scheduled to debut for WWE at a SmackDown brand House Show this Monday in Portland, Maine. It is believed that he will be teaming with Nunzio as a tag team on the SmackDown brand at this point, although nothing has been confirmed.

The Tag division is far from dead. MnM are one of the best young tag teams I've seen in awhile. The sky is the limit for those two. Rosey & Hurricane aren't horrible as a team either. What I propose (and have been doing so for a long time) is move the belts to the same show and unify them. There's only enough tag teams to have one tag division at this point. Unless of course Vince wants to make Big Show and Kane a permanent tag team :whistle2:k that could be devastating until they turned on each other.

Oh, letting go of Dawn Marie just got a lot more shady... unless... there is a possibility that she wanted to get away while she's having the baby. It would kind of make sense, all the travel probably can't be good for a child.

Ooh good point I did already kill Matt Morgan.

:whistle2:k...

Well good thing WWE has no plans of firing JBL, I mean he's great on the mic, has outrageous heel heat, I just can't see them ever letting him go.

Holy shit, man. Charlie Haas? I was in the crowd for his debut...most disheartening. They should release Daniel Puder so they don't have to pay him the rest of his contract.

I'm sure this isn't the case, but does it feel to anyone else like WWE is just giving TNA enough firepower for a TV deal? Here's hoping anyhow. With Raven as the champ, they could become very credible.
That's just not fair to Chavo. Ya know looking at that, Chavo probably would've been better off just getting released.
Speaking of new looks, why does Rene Dupree look like Uncle Eddie now?
RAW:
Kenzo Suzuki
Conway
Dupree
Tyson Tomko
Val Venis
Viscera (His angle has run its course)

SmackDown:

Both Bashams
Dudley Boyz (only because of Spike's leaving)
Funaki
Sharmell.. and any of the other chicks from SmackDown
I was right about Suzuki, both of the Dudley Boyz, and now Joy Giovanni has been released.. I have no clue who she is, so that must mean she was on SmackDown.. which falls under 'other chicks from SmackDown'.. so not bad, i've gotten four right.. Wouldn't be suprised to see both Bashams, Funaki, Tomko and Venis released.. If they don't axe Tomko, he'll just be a leech to their money.. they'll never have a drawing angle for him

Damn, I have never seen anything like this before. A new name every hour.

Joy was in angle with Big Show where he was protecting her.

According to Dave Meltzer, Brock Lesnar is expected to sign with World Wrestling Entertaiment tomorrow, as the two sides are scheduled for another meeting. At this point, Lesnar would likely return to the Smackdown roster.

You know, as much as I think I'll get flamed for it, I actually kinda like Lesnar. I'd love to see a program between him and Batista, and it'll be very interesting to see if Vince makes him the whipping boy on SmackDown.. or if he'll be JBL's bitch, or vice versa.

I knew it. I called this a few posts back, too. They cleared out 15-20 superstars just so Brock could come back.

This is a HUGE gamble for them.. expect Lesnar to be shoved down our throats.

Several WWE wrestlers are telling sources they are extremely nervous every time their telephone rings, expecting a call from WWE management about being one of the next released from the company. 15 have been cut within the past 24 hours, and we know for a fact that several more are imminent. To say people are tense in WWE right now is the understatement of the year.

Alright, let's do this: Pick 5 people! Maybe the person with the closest picks wins a gift? I'm still sticking with my picks, especially Venis and Tomko.

Oh, and look at that.

One of the main reasons for the numerous roster cuts the last day or so is the combination of a poor quarter earning, which was announced last week, and the fact that WWE will lose over $10 million in advertising revenue for the next calendar year from the move from SpikeTV to USA Network. They are also apparently feeing up some salary cash to bring back Brock Lesnar.

I'd love to work in the WWE offices.

This is kinda the anti-draft. ha.

Brock's on the front page of WWE.com now.

Lesnar really is the total package for this generation. Size, strength, mat skills, and mic skills. I think the first thing they ought to do is feed him to the Undertaker like they were going to when he quit. Getting destroyed by a man twice his age. That'll teach him. ;)
You know, as much as I think I'll get flamed for it, I actually kinda like Lesnar. I'd love to see a program between him and Batista, and it'll be very interesting to see if Vince makes him the whipping boy on SmackDown.. or if he'll be JBL's bitch, or vice versa.
No flames from me. I still think Lesnar has the best combination of speed, power AND technique of any pro-wrestler I have seen. In terms of whst he can do in the ring against various opponents he really has no peer other than perhaps Kurt Angle. I am going to listen to his theme now just because I am that excited about his possible return.

I don't think the fans will take Lesnar back, I mean, he got booed pretty loudly at Rasslamania.

I never thought he was anything special, like Batista. But if they keep cramming it down your thoat you have no choice but to swallow.

All this talk about Lesnar & I have never even seen the guy wrestle. As I stated in one of the other wrestling threads I stopped watching wrestling around 2000 and just got back into it this past October. So I have no idea what to even expect.

I temporarily made my homepage the release list :p

Lesnar's got more talent than Batista. Batista's just a huge mother fucker. Lesnar's actually decent, his SSP is very impressive.

This could also be suicide for NWA-TNA. They will no doubt want some of the higher names, including the Dudley Boyz.. in order for that to happen, since they're already losing money, they'd have to release some of their own superstars.

Ha, what if they released Jeff to get the Dudley boys, then there was a Jeff/Matt reunion in WWE.. that'd be awesome. I'd love to see them release Jeff Hardy, Jerry Lynn, and Raven.. I mean, of course they won't release Raven, it'd just be sweet.
Chris Masters has a decent look and that is about it right now.
He's a good talker, and he looks believably cocky. He's just a bodybuilder, not a wrestler. That is crystal clear when he steps in the ring, and it bores me to tears.

That's exactly what Vince wants. If Lesnar can come back and be a superheel to feud with Batista. The dollar signs are lighting up in Vince's eyes already.

Although, wrestling fans (in general) are so fickle that they'll probably cheer Brock when he returns simply because he's been gone so long.

Actually, scratch the five idea.

Choose ten people, five from Smackdown, five from Raw, and i'd like to change some of my picks.

Raw:
Danny Basham
Rene Dupree
Tyson Tomko
Val Venis
Todd Grisham

SmackDown:
Funaki
Hardcore Holly (how would you like to be the one to tell him he's fired?)
Heidenreich
Scotty 2 Hotty
Josh Matthews

I don't watch SmackDown, so I have no clue if the people I listed are even in storylines.. I think Regal and Al Snow would be moved to office or trainer jobs instead of wrestlers, they've been around a while

I'm torn. While I don't like the idea of the character at all, it reminds me of a college intramural team called the "Fightin' Whities," which I find hilarious (and a minute social commentary).

WWE gives many people second chances, and Lesnar shouldn't be an exception. OTOH, you're REALLY pissing off the wrestlers by bringing in Lesnar and simultaneously letting loyal, hardworking guys (well, most of them, anyway) go. You have the fans' acceptance to worry about, and you have the willingness of the wrestlers to (1) work with Lesnar, and (2) give to Lesnar. You're probably going to see a lot more "deadassing," as Hardcore Holly did (right before his neck was promptly broken ;)). It's a hard gamble, but in the end, while you might make "the boys" mad, they're all pussies who won't stand up for themselves for a push or a union anyway.

I wonder if letting The Dudleyz go was a sign to other wrestlers: "Ask for more money as your ass is GONE!" It simply doesn't make sense to release them.

I refuse to give Regal and Al Snow another kiss of death, but honestly I just can't see them being released.

My 5 picks:

Tyson Tomko
Sylvain Grenier
Josh Matthews
Michelle McCool
Steve Romero

For real about the union thing. Things are getting out of hand.

And scratch Al Snow off mine. I forgot he's training in OVW. How 'bout Sylvan Grenier instead.

Spike Dudley posted this message at the message board of his official site, spikedudley.net....

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!

And in more ways than one. First, yes I'm gone from the WWE. Does it sting? Hell, yeah. Especially since I've always been one of their "model" employees. It makes sense that I was released, I don't bitch, moan, groan or suck. I just didn't fit in with what the WWE puts on tv. No, I'm only kidding(but not really). It was my turn and that's the nature of the beast. The WWE is a sinking ship. Cursed by owning 100% of the industry, I can see how they couldn't afford my outrageous salary in these times of number crunching. Hey, they gave me a great oppurtunity and maybe I didn't make the most of it. That's life. At first I was pissed, but I woke up this morning feeling, I don't know, alive. Check this out, this morning I woke up and visioned having a wrestling match without a script. I visioned going to an arena and actually having fun again. I visioned not having to go to the hospital after being hurt by a "future" WWE superstar who may look good but have the wrestling ability of a dead walrus. I visioned pitching an angle without having to get approval from writers who 6 years ago were buying ECW tickets and making signs(it's true). Hell, I visioned blading!!! I really don't want to burn bridges(if I haven't already) and all that, but that company sucks the life out of you and then spits you out. Enough on them.

I want to love wreslting again. I want to be passionate about the business. It's been so good to me, I want to give back. I don't know how yet, but it will happen.

Right now, I'm going to chill. I've got some time to sit back and re-evaluate life, smell some roses and get my head straight. I doubt you've seen the last of me. And if anything it's a blessing. Nothing sucks worse than working for a company that doesn't respect you. Paul E.(God bless him) proved that to me. Now I don't have to worry about it.

Majik, you f'n rock. Big boost this morning, thank you. I"ll be in touch.

Everyone in Dudlyeville, you all are the best. My many thanks to everyone for the support and love you've shown. Now that I'm on my own I will be back more often, so it's fun time.
I can't name everyone but you know who you are. Keep the faith, and if anyone is hiring get in touch.

Thanks guys,

Spike "no more tears" Dudley

Keep on plugging away, Spike.

Heenan: Janetty tried to dive through the window to escape! What an act of cowardism!

*sniff* none better than those two.
I just saw this....good stuff. Man, there really was nobody better nor will there ever be anyone like that again.

There should be partisanship in announcing, it's just as important as the rasslin. You know what isn't important? Hyping the next PPV at every free moment.

I hope God is takin' care of Monsoon or else I'll have to whoop his ass.

I have the WWE jukebox thing. It's great, and it's only $3.95 a month.

Man, just about 20 people released already... wow...

It might be interesting to see Brock back. I've always wanted to see him and Batista lock up... I don't think they ever wrestled.

It'd be funny if they poked fun at Brock's leaving for the NFL. Have Batista be walking around town, and a real NFL coach stops him:

Coach: Aren't you that wrestler, Batista?
Batista: Yeah, that's me.
C: Wow! I've seen you in the ring, and working out... I think you'd be a perfect football player.
B: Thanks, but no thanks.
C: I'm serious! I'll get you signed to a huge, multi-million dollar contract right now!
B: No... (turns to camera) I'm a wrestler.

I visioned not having to go to the hospital after being hurt by a "future" WWE superstar who may look good but have the wrestling ability of a dead walrus.

I think that Spike was taking a shot (deservedly) at Rene and Sylvan from when they dropped him on his head.

I'd love that segment.

I e-mailed my thoughts to 1Wrestling. I don't know why. Maybe they'll use 'em, probably not. All I can remember about what I typed was the end sentence..

"Joey - Pretend you were in the position that Vince is currently in when ECW was around. Would you get rid of all three Dudley Boys, then other stars like Super Crazy, Psychosis, and Jerry Lynn just to bring Mike Awesome back?"

and 20? I only count 17...

-- The Dudley Boys (Bubba Ray & D’Von) were released because their contracts are up next month and they couldn't agree money terms with WWE. The Dudleys are said to be looking at TNA and Japan as future options.

-- Marty Jannetty was released because of a domestic incident that occurred with his partner. He was subsequently jailed.

-- Dawn Marie had her contract bought out due to her pregnancy.
I think that Spike was taking a shot (deservedly) at Rene and Sylvan from when they dropped him on his head.
I remember that, but isn't he currently injured? Who did that one?

Edit: Heindenreich maybe?
Brock fired Sable.
Yup.

-- Despite the 10-year age difference and multiple tribulations, Brock Lesnar (age 27, he turns 28 next Tuesday) and Sable (age 37) were together as a romantic couple for about two years or so after coming together while they were both on the Smackdown! brand in 2003. As we all know, Brock Lesnar left WWE in March of 2004, but the two stuck together while Sable stayed in WWE for a few more months until she too parted ways with WWE last August.

Well, seeing how Brock wasn't competing anywhere, he had no source of income whatsoever. His funds have finally dried up and Sable has decided to leave him. There were plans of the two getting married sometime this year, but that would obviously be off the cards now.

-- There is no doubt that Sable leaving Lesnar had to be a factor on his impending return to WWE. And seeing how Sable has left Brock, that pretty much dashed any hopes for those of whom who thought Sable might follow Brock upon his eventual return to WWE.

What a money grubbing whore. I thought she was older than 37, she looks 45.
20? I only count 17...
I said "about 20." The actual number is 18, I believe.

Wow, a bunch of cuts even after the first few cuts. The Dudley Boys being cuts was kind of a surprise due to how popular they are, but it's not a surprise since they haven't been on at all with the exception of the ECW PPV. I liked Charlie Haas and Jackie when he teamed up with Rico, which made for some funny matches. Kenzo was very good as the Japanese guy that wanted to become accepted as an American, but I didn't really like his wrestling and now that Cena's the WWE champ on RAW he didn't really have much else left. I'm hoping they get rid of these stupid wrestlers like Chris Masters, Tyson Tomko, and they already got rid of Matt Morgan. Steven Richards should be gone along with Simon Dean and Val Venis.

What's the whole list of cuts so far? I've only seen pieces from the last few pages and I'd like to see how the list stacks up as a whole.
