Six Superstars Released
July 5, 2005
World Wrestling Entertainment has come to agreements on the release of the following Superstars, WWE would like to wish them the best in their future endeavors.
Mark Jindrak
Maven
Shannon Moore
James Yun (Akio)
David Heath
Billy Kidman
Well, no reason to sit on these

ers if TNA needs 'em.
Too bad Billy Kidman got way into the WWE style of physique. He's far too muscular and thick to work the style he is known for, which would make him fantastic in the X-division. He has months upon months of dining on laxatives if he wants to get into shape to work in TNA. Otherwise, they won't touch him (or, given that he

s up the SSP 60% of the time, they probably won't touch him at all).
Maven? I suppose that the writing was on the wall once Simon Dean was traded; the only successful Tough Enough winner has been...well, nobody really. Josh Matthews does Velocity and Johnny Nitro is a current tag champ, but he's only spent limited time on WWE tv (though he does look good, act the part well, and is a half decent wrestler). Daniel Puder? Never heard of the kid.
Gangrel? I think WWE wants to push the guy, even today. The problem is that he's kinda lumpy and lazy, and his wrestling matches uninspired. I, too, think the Brood could have been awesome. Could have been.
Jindrak? Who's Mark Jindrak?
I'd love to see Jimmy Yang and Shannon Moore in TNA, and we're guaranteed to see that in the future. Awesome, so long as they keep Yang out of the Elvis costumes.
I can't say I'm upset about these releases; they're either people I don't care to see, or people whose wrestling is astonishingly good, and thus they weren't allowed to work their potential in WWE. Take CM Punk for instance; I'm thrilled that he's getting a chance at "the big time," as anyone who works as hard as he does deserves such a chance, and (with any luck) the financial security it provides. At the same time, I've enjoyed watching his matches so much that it breaks my heart (well, insomuch as wrestling-related things can) to know that I'll never see him wrestle another 45-minute mat classic until he gets released. Good for him for now, but I look forward to seeing him again when he's released in a few.
myke.
