I don't watch much TNA, anyone want to explain to me why Samoa Joe was wearing a Gears of War T-shirt?
He was in a charity deathmatch against a UFC guy a few weeks ago.

Joe won.

He has an interest in video games, as well.

Now we just need to get him to join CAG. Then we can call him...

"The Samoan Cheap Ass Gamer."

Weird note in The Observer

The front runner for the location of Wrestlemania in 2008 is Orlando. It was orginially planned to be in Las Vegas.

While :applause: worthy for me and alot of other people here, where would they hold it?

TD Waterhouse Centre only holds about what 13,000 people? Armageddon 2003 only had 12,672 in attendance which would be fairly low for Wreslemania

Wrestlemania, at Orlando?

I'd shit my pants.

I don't care how shitty WWE gets (and it's pretty damn shitty right now), this is a once in a lifetime opp. to go see their biggest PPV live!!

In 2008, I bet Cena will still have the belt too.

Not if they let you sneak weapons into WM23... :twoguns:

My buddy called me last night and he has 6th row floor tickets for Raw this Monday Night, he had an extra ticket which he offered up so i'll be going. Hope it's a decent Raw.

18. Hogan vs. Rock was a good match. I'm ashamed to say I don't remember much more.

EDIT: After re-reading the match card, I remember that Edge completely fucked up during his match with Booker, and that the 4 corners match was solid. Angle's match was quality as well.

wow so you were there for the hogan rock match.. thats still one of my fav matches to date.... must of been awesome to be there live

This is a good opportunity for someone like Finlay or Mr. Kennedy to get a World Title match / storyline.

I hope no one beats Kennedy's time next week. If anyone beats it, please be Finlay.

Agreed. Nothing stood out as being tremendous, but nothing was terrible, and all of the beat the clock matches were fun to watch, with Booker-Helms being my favorite match. Here are some of my favorite quotes from tonight's show-

Cole - In this beat the clock, you want to set a time that is almost difficult to beat.
JBL - What? You want to set a time that NO ONE CAN BEAT! Idiot.

Cole - It literally only takes three seconds to beat your opponent.
JBL - You are the next Einstein. You are brilliant.

Cole - What’s it like to be hit by that boot?
JBL - You don’t really remember it.
Cole - That’s why I asked you.

Cole -LONDON CAN’T GET OUT OF IT… but he did.

JBL - Cole, you can go to WWE.com, check out my Antarctica trip, and see a lot of penguins that look like Tony Chimel

JBL - Explaining things to you is like throwing a Frisbee to a man sitting down.

JBL - Boogeyman serves no purpose!

Cole - Come on, Chris Cade, do something!
JBL - He’s the most feminine person in the ring, how could he do something?

Cole - Ashley with a right hand!
JBL - OH MY!
JBL - C’mon, give us another OH MY. OH MY!

JBL - I hate to say it, but the next Mrs. JBL may be French.

JBL - Didn’t this happen about 300 years ago? You know, cowboys vs. Indians. We gave ‘em alcohol, took their land, and then they couldn't win it back in a game of blackjack.

Cole - Tatanka looks over at the clock, realizing he needs to beat it.

Cole - One chap released from his leg, could that cost him the match?

Cole - Vickie is confused.

Cole - You can feel the sense of urgency tonight, and they see the pot of gold at the end. Well, actually it isn’t gold… but it is.
Beat the clock was much better than I thought it would be. Really good show tonight IMO.
Thanks Casey. I'm grabbing the show right now. Still haven't installed my WinTV 250 in my new system otherwise I would of recorded the show.
Cowboys vs Indians? Oh, Vince.
When he said the part about us giving all our money back at the casino's I lost it.

OVW results:
Boris Alexiev beat some guy named (and I'm not making this up), the "Belgian Waffle."
Some guy from Oklahoma beat some guy everyone called "Disco Stu."
Renee Dupree beat Synn
Idol Stevens beat Steve Lewington
Charles "The Hammer" Evans and Justin "The Ox" Larouche beat Ryan Reeves and Jon Bolen
Katie Lee and Victoria beat ODB and Beth Phoenix
"Fearless" Jack Bull beat "The Big Deal" Dan Rodimer
Chris Rombola beat Johnny Punch
Bad Company (Eddie Kraven, Mike Kruel, and Shawn Osbourne) beat Cody Runnels, Shawn Spears, and Seth Skyfire
Paul Birchall beat Jacob Duncan and Chet the Jet to retain the OVW title.

All the matches were enjoyable to watch. No ROH-style mat wrestling, but this is clearly the work of students and guys working towards the WWE. The only person who really looked out of place is a woman named Victoria (not the WWE one), who was the single most gentle wrestler I've ever seen.
Standouts (people that wrestled well and could work the crowd) include Fearless Jack Bull, Beth Pheonix, Idol Stevens (surprised me, too), Chet the Jet, Boris Alexiev. "Disco Stu" was entertaining, but his match lasted all of three moves.
I saw a guy sitting next to Al Snow in the back of the gym with short hair and massive muttonchops. I bet my father-in-law that it was Amish Roadkill, so I asked him after the show, and I was right. I win several beers, so yay me.
I've read a little bit about WWE wanting to bring Dan Rodimer up to Raw any day now, and I did a double take when I saw him and realized that he was the long blonde haired hick from Tough Enough. He looks like Randy Orton now, IMO, and he has what it takes to be in the WWE. That means, of course, that he may not be an amazing wrestler, but he's capable, has a great look (you won't recognize him), and comes across well as a guy to hate.
Paul Birchall would be a top guy in the WWE if Chris Benoit retired. He's technically amazing, very very intense, but he's not the kind of guy you want doing interviews all the time. I hope that he gets to go back up to the WWE soon.
Lots of comedy wrestling: the six man tag, Jack Bull, the male tag match.

Can't be beat for $5. From the looks of things, they'll be doing this every 4 weeks or so in the same building, which is a three minute drive from my house. The next show is February 10; I hope they can make up my only disappointment of the night, not being able to see Deuce and Domino wrestle.
So I guess DX is now dead. Good job Rated RKO.
DX lost? Impressive.

That's not what you meant, I think...

Triple H may have suffered a quadriceps tear. Ouch.
DX lost? Impressive.
Apparently Trips is injured and is going to be out for awhile, according to The Torch... he re-injured his knee. They said Michaels isn't looking too hot either.

And yea, Cena won, I told you all Umaga had no chance of winning the gold.
Quad tear again? Ouch, I know most of you don't like HHH but you gotta feel for him with an injury like that, not once but twice now.
The fact this happened early on in the match too and he still finished it is very impressive.
Cena wins?
i guess im more "blahing" at the finish of the match....n o doubt they will probably force a rematch at rumble

not that umaga winning the belt would of been any better...

well no trips at mania i guess... whos stepping up?
Quad tear again? Ouch, I know most of you don't like HHH but you gotta feel for him with an injury like that, not once but twice now.
I don't know that I feel bad, but I'm not going to be one of those ultra-cynical types that would cheer on an injury. I think Triple H has a lot to contribute to pro wrestling, but so long as he remains on TV, eating up guys left and right, I truly think you won't see the product improve.

I think that he could be great behind the scenes, or in creative, if he doesn't have that incentive to put himself on the top, because he's injured. Frankly, the feud with RKO has been the only interesting thing DX has done since their reunion, because it's the only one in which DX has shown any weakness at all (and, as a result, created an air of uncertainty as to whether or not DX would win the feud). Frankly, the match tonight could not have ended any better (than with DX looking to be "dead" at the hands of RKO). If the feud with RKO continued, it could have run into "overkill" territory, and become uninteresting. Now they have the opportunity to make Orton and Edge the newest killer heels on Raw.

Give Cryme Tyme the titles in a fluke victory (HBK-ference) tomorrow or next Monday, and then have Edge back Orton into challenging Cena for the belt (leading up to a Cena/Edge/Orton title match at Wrestlemania).

I don't want to sound like I am happy for the injury, but DX was stale and this pretty much kills VKM (which ran its course several weeks ago).

I hadn't thought of the effect it had on VKM. My, the butterfly effect is working quite well tonight, no? ;)

I wonder if TNA is taped for this coming Thursday already, so tomorrow we can hear "Triple H will be off TV for 4 months or more," and on Thursday, VKM will say "Paul Levesque, get off the TV!"

WWE is hyping some sort of Rosie O'Donnell/Donald Trump confrontation on Raw tomorrow (wasn't this shit just a half-a-day blip in the gossip-loving entertainment media? This doesn't deserve this much attention). Knowing full well you'll never see them on Raw, the creative choices for false advertising of celebrities is as follows:
1) lookalikes/comedian-types dressing up as the characters
2) same as #1, but midgets
3) Titantron fight, Conan O'Brien style

Any guesses as to which it will be?

Whoever wins, we lose.

(My bet is on celebrity "lookalikes".)
