Hope this isn't super old news to anyone, but THIS is the set I MUST have. All others have been stuff I felt pretty interested in. But this. I must have.
Yeah I think it was talked about a several pages back. It will come out in about a month and only be $100 for 1600 pieces.

I actually like that more than the Cafe Corner sets, it feels much more like a LEGO set.

Some more pictures...

I can't remember how many sets I have, I have played with LEGO for as long as I can remember, so I did the last 10 years. I didn't collect/play/buy LEGO in 1997-1998 because the sets were so terrible, so I did all the sets I own since then.

In short I did what Lordwow did, complete sets that I have built or at least now I have the pieces for in a bucket somewhere.

I decided early in 08 that I was bored and had money to spare... so I've been going a little crazy... especially when the TRU deals come around:

http://www.brickset.com/lists/collection.aspx?User=fadetoone

About 10 years ago, I made the poor decision to give all my legos to my bratty little cousins. I think I've surpassed my previous collection though. Back then I had all the M-trons but the big one, the Imperial ship, the space shuttle, some space police, king's mountain castle, and a handful of other stuff. Those were the days, but at least now I have my own money.

Ya, my only goals right now for LEGO is to finish the Coast Guard set and eventaully finish my spyrius set (my favorite space set). I'll get the Pirates I'm sure, but I'll probably wait for them to drop a bit or go on sale. Nothing else really appeals to me this year, except maybe the later-in-the-year-space-police

Wow, the buildings are kinda boring architecturally, but there are lots of neat little pieces that I can see. The food alone is awesome: apples, cheese, butter, carrot, fish (first time I've seen those) and especially the whole turkey, complete with neck and removable drumsticks! Would be nice to have that for a Thanksgiving or Christmas set up.

Cattle are nice too. What's that thing on the other side of the creek? Is that supposed to be a duck? I couldn't make head nor tails of it until I saw the rooster and chicken things on the roof.

It's only the second or third set that has the complete turkey, and it goes for about $20 on Brinklink. The fish is new this year, they are also used in the Pirate sets.

And that's not a complete list. I think I have some sets twice because they have them "Same as blah blah", and then some are left out because I have Castle sets too, but the way the site's themes are organized is bad so I wasn't going to try to figure out the sub themes. :)

Plus I included sets I'm getting for Christmas and some that will hopefully ship from damn S@H something before I die.
Do we know how much the Castle Town Square is going to retail for? I'm guessing $120.
Only $100, unless LEGO changed it. One of the IJ sets this year was going to be $50 by the press release, and then it became $60.

Pirates sure reminds me of my younger years... I'll shit myself if they come up with an updated Forestmen.
Pirates sure reminds me of my younger years... I'll shit myself if they come up with an updated Forestmen.
That won't happen, LEGO has this new thing where they don't have humans vs humans, more so in the Castle theme. I wish I knew where the interview was but it was an Agents designer talking about how LEGO didn't want humans vs humans.

Castle it's against the orcs, trolls and skellies
Mars Mission is against really badly made aliens.
Agents it's Cyborgs.
Power Ranges it's rock monsters.

However in Pirates it's human vs human so who knows. Forestmen where kind of like the Pirates of the woods. I personally always loved the Wolf people Fracton. LEGO now even has a Warewolf head so why no... :)

Hey, the City sets have crooks and such, so there is SOME human on human crime going down in LEGOland. ;)

Yeah, I loved the Forestmen when I was a kid. Need to get all of those sets out of my parents' attic, because all of those tree parts would be perfect for making wreaths and such for my Christmas set up.

Yes but they are almost always in jail, and they never really have guns or weapons. LEGO is afraid of getting sued I think by some idiots because their kids played with LEGO and then killed 10 people in a mall.

And my LEGO order shipped, which is good. I already got screwed over by Amazon today. I bought Batman Begins Super Mega Deluxe DVD for $4 on Black Friday and today they say they have none and canceled it from my order and if I would like I could order a substitute. Well the substitute is $13! They should have just gave me it for the $4!

LEGO refused to put guns in their sets for a long time. They're actually opposed to using weapons unless absolutely necessary, you can probably google it, but they've had some interviews asking about why there aren't more, and their PR people have said their company is fundamentally opposed to including weapons unless it's a necessity, especially guns.

Oh yeah, LEGO only used old fashion guns for Pirates and the Wild West Rifles, however that's kind of changing. For some reason Agents doesn't use real guns, yet Star Wars has guns, IJ has guns, Batman has machine guns. It's really rather stupid to me. :) Agents should at least use the older style pistols. It's a violent theme and yet they have kind of looking guns.

Yea, I did notice a couple of the 'same as' marked both times for you. All my marked sets are sets I have the box and/or instruction booklet for. Guess there could be some I'm missing.

And yet, in addition to the aforementioned Batman sets, they have Pirates and Castle sets that are nothing but a minifig and a rack full of weaponry. Go figure.

Oh, and don't forget they sell life-size versions of the Castle swords for kids to wail on their siblings with. I smell a double standard.
Against guns? Have you seen the Batman sets? There's a pack of guns!
That's our point. They are against guns in a James Bond ripoff theme called Agents, but not against guns anywhere else?

And I added more sets. I think I got 99% of the sets I own since 2000. Those would be complete with the instructions (I have a Staples paper box filled with 60-70 pounds of LEGO instructions), I'm now at the point where I go "I think I bought too much". I actually have spent very little this year and besides some IJ sets for the pieces, and the cool $30 Castle set, I don't really need anything else for this year.

LEGO says....
Safe and durable foam construction!

Plus no one likes those things, kids hate them. LEGO a few years back went "We will return to our roots and not make so much clothing, and pens and crap". The following MONTH, they release hugely overpriced furniture, tons of t-shirts and clothing and backpacks and lame swords. So that lasted real long.

So I started getting nostalgic this morning and went over to eBay to look at what was for sale under the older space themes... an hour or two later, I'm now in for 30some different sets (m-tron, blacktron I/II, space police I/II, a couple UFO, roboriders, futuron, and maybe some iceplanet) totaling $130+ (depending on how bids go) before shipping. Is this bad y/n?

I love the UFO sets, for some reason they were never popular but damn I loved them. And the Robo theme that came out the same year, great sets. One looked like a robot raptor, awesome set.

I went all the way back to 1990, and the oldest town set I can remember having...

http://www.brickset.com/detail.aspx?Set=6342-1

I love that set, and I rebuilt it last year or the year before and I have all but one piece. I'm missing one of those white pieces for the sail boat bottom.

I'd buy them!

Saw this on dealnews.

Amazon currently has the Millennium Falcon for $392.99, and a 10 percent discount applies at checkout, dropping it from the astronomical list price of $500 to a merely absurd $353.69 (with free shipping).

Alternatively, Target charges $349.99 with free shipping. Coupon code "7N584R3M" cuts it to $314.99, almost $200 off of list price. However, sales tax is added where applicable, which may bring it pretty close to the Amazon price.

Still too rich for my blood, but maybe somebody's looking to prop up the economy.

But LEGOs are made in Denmark.

Uh oh. I promised myself that if the big Millenium Falcon got down to $300 I'd buy it. fuck. Anyone want to buy a brand new Super Nintendo?
Hey, it's a GLOBAL economic collapse.
Yes and LEGO can save it!!!

And then when you don't have a house to live in you can biuld a house out of LEGOs! :

If you are (or know) a Disney Cast Member at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, the local LEGO stores are offering special discounts in December. It does not combine with other discounts or promotions, is limited to new purchases, and may involve quantity limitations.

Disneyland Anaheim Cast Members get 40% off December 5-12.

Walt Disney World Cast Members get 30% off December 15-17.

(I personally cannot get the discount, so I won't be able to take requests. Sorry. :whistle2:|)
Cast Members? Like if you work in a Disney play you get 30% off in Disney World Stores?
Disney calls all of it's direct employees "cast members", from the part time custodians to the park executives. Sorry for the confusion.

The LEGO store is a third party vendor on site, and usually only offers 10% off for Disney employees. For these particular date ranges, the discount is improved.

Generally, for Disney owned and operated stores, the discounts can range from nothing to 50%, depending on what it is that is being bought, where the store is, and time of year. At best, LEGO-wise, they can get a discount on the extremely marked-up Star Wars sets they carry at the store attached to Star Tours.

Any idea when they'll reveal what these new Space Police Patrol sets look like? Lego's already got the new miner theme for pre-order on amazon, and its own section at Lego.com, but I don't see anything about next year's Space sets.

February when the Toy Fairs start.

For some reason we got the January 2009 pictures in August, so the new Summer sets, including more Indiana Jones, Castle, City Trains/Transportation, and Space Police 3.

However I had a dream and in the dream they were tan.
I don't have the money for the falcon, but here are some coupons:
10% off at target: 7N584R3M
20% CashBack live search at target

Don't know if they stack, but even with tax you're looking at a $280-$300 falcon. Excellent price.
That Target price included the 10% coupon, but the 20% on top would be sweet if it works.

oh my god. why do i have to be unemployed right now...

I don't know if anybody would be interested or not but would any of you guys be interested in trading lego pieces, sets, or minifigs? I have a lot of doubles of figures and I want some different ones.

TRU has online printable coupons for the following sets here. These coupons are only good TODAY (Dec. 11) and only good in-store.

LEGO Star Wars Trade Federation MTT - 49.99 with coupon, was 99.99

LEGO Mars Mission MT-101 Armored Drilling Unit - 39.99 with coupon, was 79.99

I would definately get the MT-101 but I doubt my TRU would even have it in stock. :(

TRU in general is a disappointment to me. if it was closer I could be generally more acceptable, but every time I go there, it's just another let down.

I can't wait till the new ones are out. Space police :hot:

as for the Miners... I think i'll only get say the $10 and under sets... seems like all the pieces are too large and big and few inbetween.

the rock guys are nice, and glad they stick one in almost every one... but other than that... the big ones just don't seem like worthy of the price.
oh my god. why do i have to be unemployed right now...
The set is amazing in person, but i still see no need to pay $300 for one huge LEGO set that will sit on (and take up the whole) coffee table.

And also at TRU they have the Castle Battle Wheel for $26, today only. And i was thinknig that the Mars Mission set was this set which I'd run right over and buy for $40. Too bad TRU doesn't have any Aqua Raider bases for $35.

I just rediscovered my lego sets from years ago and have been going crazy buying stuff. I'm glad to know there are so many other CAG's sharing my addiction.

I started in the 80's with some basic sets and then got a couple of town sets in the 90's. I hadn't touched them till Thanksgiving when I cleaned out my room at my parent's house. I ended up bringing them all back with me to start building them again.

So far this year I picked up two King's Castle sets from Wal-mart (one for me, one for my wife :)), Batman and Harley, a few small (

Hey I'm a sucker for huge ships and 5000+ pieces makes a huge fucking ship. also, i need a chewbacca minifig

I'm looking to buy Harry Potter figs or a Santa Claus, so if you have those, or want to sell others, shoot me a PM.

Hmm sorry no harry potter or santa. I have 3 darth vaders, 3 qui gon jins, 3 jar jar binks, 2 r2d2's and a shit load of knights/clonetroopers/pirates/indians

I have shitloads of figures, probably close to 500 now. I'll check what I have.

And my order came in, and my Amazon one is still one town over! I don't get that. However it came with a neat thingie that shows the Castle Market coming out January 1st and a small picture of Pirates and Power Miners. I'll try to post it.

I can't get them to embed...

$100 for 1,601 pieces! So the cheaper sets get more expensive, 176 for $23 horse trailer, or $100 for 1,600 pieces.
