Amazon has a pretty good percentage off but I know i've seen a few of those cheaper at Kmart/WM once.

that Areo Booster I picked up for $19 a year ago and the V-19 was even cheaper at $29 at Kmart.

But one good thing is probably the last time one would see these sets now... besides on ebay or half or 3rd party sellers.

8107 & 7707 I wouldn't mind picking up... good 30-40% off, but it'll be $63.02 once paid... don't know if I'd want to pay that much.

Sorry about erasing the links, but they all had referrals. I'm working on fixing them now.

Anyone have any insider info on the upcoming modular building set that LEGO is going to be announcing shortly ... I've heard it might be a fire station with a bell tower of some sort? Anyone know of any pics that have come out recently? I've seen the video with the black "?" bag and it looks a bit bigger than Green Grocer. I'm psyched for it ... my wallet isn't ... but I follow my heart rather than my wallet most times ...

Oh, haven't heard much talk on the board about this set ... I'm digging the bus

By modular, do you mean it will fit with the Green Grocer, Market Street, and Cafe Corner?

Not feeling that bus set, though the bus is okay.
By modular, do you mean it will fit with the Green Grocer, Market Street, and Cafe Corner?

Yep, there should be a 3rd set coming out this year by the same designer who created Green Grocer and Cafe Corner. Market Street was a factory set and thus isn't the true 3rd set that this particular designer mentioned in an interview last year. From what I've been reading, there's a rumor it's a fire station / pizza shop ... however a few folks are speculating that it's not because a LEGO employee who gave that description may have been getting confused with that set with the bus I posted a link to earlier (evidently that has a pizza parlor of some sort and the LEGO store employee may have assumed the red building was a fire station). So the mystery of what the 3rd modular set is still remains, although a few people on Eurobricks have actually seen it but aren't talking.

For folks who don't know about the black bag with the "?" it's in this video (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27309) about 2 minutes or so in behind the guy and disappears before the end of the video. There's an entire forum dedicated to speculation on that particular model here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27310

Yeah, after seeing the sharper pics, I'm not digging the bus enough to buy the whole set. The bus is pretty cool but I hate those kiddy-town LEGO sets, it's tough to go back to that after the amazing Cafe Corner & Green Grocer (which I'll hopefully own someday). Those windmills are sweet and I'm pretty sure I saw something somewhere about those being a special set ... it was a month or two ago, but I can't remember if they were going to be a limited edition or what the deal was. Kind of reminds me of those City Landmark sets that LEGO makes, which are awesome but I guess you can only buy directly at places like the Hancock center or Empire State building or online.

Has anyone checked out LEGOs PaB online recently? ~500 pieces were added, and it will now cost you $4 for a minifigure and a dollar for ONE cherry!

I just got back from Toys R Us (Spokane, WA) all spongebob sets are 25% off, and SW Vulture Droid and Darth Vader's Tie Fighter are both on sale. I just checked, prices are reflected on their website. Still not as good as amazon :)

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I don't use PaB since I get a lot of bricks from the wall at the local stores, but I've been thinking about it to get some more minifigs.

Here's is a response somebody got:

Dear Gavin
Thank you for your email from 04/02/09 regarding LEGO® Digital Designer.
The new palate of bricks for LEGO® Digital Designer was made available yesterday. The LEGO company is aware of the price increase issue and is in the process of reviewing it. We should have more information regarding this by the end of the day tomorrow.
Please do not hesitate to contact Customer Service at 1-800-835-4386 (from within the US or Canada) or 1-860-763-4011 (from outside the US or Canada), between 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. EST Monday –Friday and 10:00a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST Saturday and Sunday for more information. One of our representatives will be happy to assist you.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you have experienced.
So I guess we'll find out soon. I'm sure they will lose a lot of business if they keep the current prices.

edit: by the way, did anybody notice that FBTB.net changed their focus to Power Miners?

It's an April Fools joke, but I think they are being smart and will keep it all month.

There is no way even FBTB is dumb enough to go "We know do licensing" and then a month later switch again. However if they do stay Power Miners I think the site will be even better. Looks great! :)

It's a bit late. But those in the North West.

Fred Meyer has a sale on Star Wars and IJ lego sets. 25% off, however they also had extra 10% off coupon in last Sundays ad. So 35% off you want SW or IJ.

Thank life, for the TRU heads up. Now I have to head on this weekend for my kids birhtday presents, might get some lego as well.

Lol, I thought it was, but they haven't changed it back. I liked the poll that said out of 10 people, 6 thought they should stay a Power Miners site.

I really wanted the original windmill. And I dont think LEGO can top it off with a mass production version. But if they come out with another windmill, that's always welcome. But I might end up buying 3 or 4.

Damn, that's too bad because that's an awesome set, looking at the instructions.

Target is having the SW Hyena Droid Bomber set on sale for 15.00, regularly 19.99 this 4/5. The ad also says other SW sets on sale....I wonder if the battle packs will go on sale??

The only reason we are getting any windmill is because the masses wanted the one shown, but LEGO knew that would be way too much for a real set. So I'm just glad we are getting one, and that it won't cost $150-$200.

Went to Toysrus today...spent WAY too much money. They didn't have any restrictions on the BOGO like the past Dec, so I bought Count Dooku's solar sailor, some X wing fighters, the Police Headquarters, and Peril in Peru.

We're so addicted...I want to go back and get more. lol.

I can't figure out which sets to buy that will actually save me all that much money with the b1,g1 1/2 off ... I really wish the town plan was in stock, as I'd pick that up with cafe corner .... but no such luck and the less expensive sets are hit and miss, with some of the IJ sets being $10 over Lego store prices ... so I would barely be saving anything at 1/2 off the second set if I'm paying an additional 5 to 10 over regular price on the first set. Damn ... confusing ... I want to get something but I'm just not sure. Maybe I'll buy some sets that resell high online and then use that money to go to the Lego store ... who knows ...

Anyone know of any shipping discount codes btw? I'm hoping something might be out there, but I haven't found it if it is ...

No guarantee of a monorail though.

Picked up the Cement Mixer and Garage Truck today. Not much of a deal but they were the only things similarly priced that I wanted. I wanted the Truck & Forklift but nothing else was $27.

You don't save anything. I was looking into it and Target had the $10 sets for $8 or $9. So two would be $16 or $18. TRU has the $10 sets for $12 or more, so that would be $12 plus $6 would be $18!

I'll most likely go down sometime later this week just to get away from the damn construction they will be doing on my street.

Just to make something clear...

LEGO WILL NEVER MAKE A MONORAIL AGAIN! NEVER!

Vote for the park because I want trees and I think this is the only way we will ever get a park.

Plus hears a crazy ass thought, the set is a TRU exclusive, there is no way it will cost more than $100. How much do you think a transportation hub with a bus, some taxis, a monorail would cost? Easily $350+ if the monorail runs.

Actually there is one way to save money, if a free shipping code somehow appears before this sale is over. The Cafe Corner set is in stock at TRU online for regular price, no TRU price bump, if you were able to order 2 (for the purpose of selling 1 online) you would pay $139 and $69 before tax. Online the set goes for around $150+ because it's getting harder to find ... without free shipping though you have to add another 20-30 bucks and it kind of kills the deal.

That's the only way I can see that would actually save people money on the TRU deal, unless by some miracle Green Grocer comes back into stock.

I was thinking of getting the Single Drum Roller($31.99) and the Truck and Forklift($27.99). Comes out $10 cheaper with the BOGO1/2 off then buying at Lego.com.
Maybe we'll get another twitter coupon soon.

I managed to not go overboard today. Got the Pirate's Soldier's Fort, IJ Fight on Flying Wing, Cement Truck, Horse Trailer thing, Tractor, Recycle Truck and 2 green baseplates.

What do you guys do with your sets after you build them? Do you leave them all out on display or do you take one apart and leave another one up?

Over the weekend, my wife and I finished the Eiffel Tower and man is that thing big. It took us about 7-10 hours to put it all together and it is very impressive. The problem though is that I really have nowhere to put it and I would hate to take it apart after spending so much time building it.
photo deleted?

how much you think?
Picture - http://www.flickr.com/photos/9824337@N06/3417852765/

I'd guess $40-$45, but it being 2009 I could see it being $160.

It had a big red truck and a little yellow pick up truck, looked find of like the one that came with the fire station.

The wind mill is TINY, I mean really small. If it's a $40 set I wish they would have added a few more pieces and made it taller and increased the price to $50.

I have a picture saved, it's set 7747, and the BIG thing to note is both the big truck and the little pick up truck have....

*drum roll...*

DOORS! LEGO is making sets with doors again! Now if they only did that with the Sports Car that is coming out in the summer I'd be much happier.

I don't have a large set besides the Castle, i stick them on display and then if I really like it it stays there. Otherwise I take it down and apart. Vehicles I keep together in a big tub because I sometimes just take them out and go "voom voom". :)

If I'm not playing with it, I break it down into the collective...

I would take a picture of it and make a photo book of all the sets... that's what I would do.

But I don't have a lego area to setup ... using the kitchen table and the wife HATES it... so I'm not doing any custom building yet. :(

Thanks for the pic!

I like the vehicles... and I agree... needs to be double that.... it's just round 2x2s right? could technically add to it to make it better.

tbh though they should have an expansion bag full of these... who has just one??? town near here had 9 going all the time...

I have never seen more than one.

There are only two I can think of, and one is next to a high school that is located on the end of a island or something just south of Boston and is the most amazing view ever. haha

It's not round 2x2, it loos to be taller like 2x2x2.

K-Mart is running a 20% off clearance prices sale. This means that the Star Wars V-19 Torrent is now $21.60 instead of $27, if your local K-Mart still has them in stock.

yeah I dont' think Kmart has those two I saw weeks ago... so it's a sale on clearence? wow that's a first.... I can't beleive my kmart would have enough to worth a sale....

Thanks for the ideas. Yeah, my Eiffel Tower was sitting on the kitchen table until I tried to move it. I was stupid enough to forget I could take the three sections apart and so the whole thing came crashing down . The middle section is intact, but the top and bottom sections are going to need some serious rebuilding. That'll teach me to move something more than half my size .

Is that the one off the 93 south of Boston? That's the only one I've seen, though I've heard it's only for show since they don't make enough electricity with it to power anything. Who knows...

I still have like 5 unbuilt sets (including the fire station) in my closet. I have had 0 time since we had the little one, so I'll have to put off buying anything for now for monetary and time reasons

I have to bag them up when a new set arrives. I keep track of them by placing all the pieces of a set in a zip lock bag and labeling them. Those bags go in a plastic tub.

I think you're thinking of Hull by the high school
The pick a brick went waayyyy up. It's a huge thing on The Brothers Brick.
Didn't we already talk about that here?

It will be the end of PaB, that's all. It's not a mistake, it's LEGO being dumb. Plus it's a big deal everywhere. Go to lugnet and the guy there goes on a rant about how an old train car cost $70 and not it's $600. Plus the train wheals, a set of four would cost you $30, is LEGO really that stupid? Seems so.

Went to Kmart and picked up the last V-torrent for $21.60 and found a Speed Racer #8158 marked at $15 but rang up for $8 so I'm assuming it was $10.

Then went over to TRU and picked up #6743 Creator Street Speedster and #7630 Front-end Loader for $13 and $6.50 with the sale. Nice thing about TRU BOGO 50%off is that you can return the first one at full price and keep the second at the discount. If you only want one set for 50% off just make sure that set is the one that is rung SECOND and not first and then just return the first set. Might keep the Creator though as it has some green pieces that might be useful.

I hope to have a V-19 to part out .. will have to check Kmart next time which might be soon.

Nice tip on the BOGO, wish you would have told me yesterday!!! I was there too, but decided not, I could have picked up an expensive set for half off.

Mmm, I love the smell of fraud in the afternoon...

Although, if TRU really works that way, I suppose it serves them right.
