LEGO Deals

The prices went back down!!!

It seems that LEGO was testing us to see how much they could fuck over fans before the business closed. The prices have gone up but a cherry now is 33 sets instead of $1. Minifigure legs 35 cents, and tursos are 68 cents, this is MUCH better! LEGO tried to push the limit and that failed, nice too see they backed down.

The two cheaper Original Trilogy IJ sets are 50% off on shop.lego.com, along with a few other sets. Pretty good deal to get both for $15 if you can pile on some other stuff to rid of the shipping ridiculousness.

Most everything good at S@H is already sold out. I would have LOVED the Spongebob set (for the minifigures alone) and the motorcycle sets for $15. The big Mars Mission set would have been pretty neat too.

That's the fastest I've ever seen the Shop At Home Clearance section sell out. There are still a few finds--great little Mars Mission set for $14. I picked one up with the Spongebob hospital when that was still available. Just for kicks I nabbed a small army of .98 cent City Workers. Wow, they ought to set up an email alert for SAH deals that good.

SHEESSH!!!!!!! I can't believe I missed out on that sale!!!! Arghh!!!! I was on the Lego website yesterday.... :(

Oh well....went to one of my Targets, and they had the new battlepacks for 6.99 each...I picked up 5. I think that's the best deal I'll find them at for a long time.

So, does this mean that these sets will be on sale at the B&M Store as well??

Sigh...I'm still bummed about missing the online sale. I might get some figures, and stuff, but the Indiana Jones sets are all out.
Mmm, I love the smell of fraud in the afternoon...

Although, if TRU really works that way, I suppose it serves them right.
Returning merchandise to the same store I bought it from for the same amount I paid isn't fraud Judge Judy.

Now if I was to tell everybody to buy the V-Torrent from Kmart for $21 and then take it to a Lego store and exchange it there for $55 worth of store credit because they will accept unopened returns without a receipt...well then maybe you got me. But I didn't tell anybody that now did I?:whistle2:$

So this is how you get so many LEGOs, you just fuck over EVERY store...

I have seen things sell out faster believe it or not, the record would be about 70 minutes for sets.

Has anyone bought any LEGO shirts? i liek the red Batman one and wondering if the quality is decent. I have a tee I got for free in 2001 and it seems OK.

Were there a lot more sets on sale today then it shows now? I grabbed the general grievous and the doc and patient, but that's all I saw that I was interested in.

It figures the one day I don't check the Lego sales section is when they finally add some stuff. Oh well, snagged up a few city workers and the doc and patient.
Hard to pass up on .98 cent sets. Also grabbed a couple of the 390 piece basic brick sets for $10 bucks each.

At the Wal-mart I go to they had the Bionicle Axalara T9 on clearance for $30, normally $80. I'm not a big fan of Bionicle but maybe someone is. Was at Dixon, IL.
Probably about a dozen or so sitting there.

I think they added stuff later in the day than they normally do because I checked in the morning I thought.

Hard to pass up 98 cents until you add $5 shipping. :)

Yeah, I was looking to buy the doc, city worker and the IJ bike chase but then realized my total was going to be $14, or $2 less than regular price. I passed.

That $7 set would've been great though, but I got on too late.

isn't there a code for 5 off 20? or 25?

I'd jump at getting 20/25 minifigs for 20/25.. no tax here and no shipping would be splendid.

I'd start my clone army... or maybe go wild and make them into Zombies and do a L4D montage.

Yeah I was going to go to TRU today and see what they have and then buy about 10 Doc sets, a few Public works and then some PaB (To try to get to $20), but now the Doc set is "not available in the USA". Oh well, should save my money anyways, but the doctor torso and the female would have been nice. I have at least 400 minifigures and only about 20 women. javascript:launch("http://cpncbn.com/c.php?o=168000", 697, 447 );

I tried using the $5 off coupon after I added 1 more doc, 1 more city worker, and some PABs, but then the impulse set prices jumped to $2.99 each and the IJ set back to $10. So I guess the coupon only works on certain items.

which code did you use? One of them works on sale items, most codes don't work with sales.

There is bscd27, bscd28, and bscd29 I think are the codes.

:)

This is true normally, but I live in a small town out in the middle of nowhere. Which leaves me with few options to buy my sets. It would cost
me about $5 in gas to drive to Rockford to get to a Target or TRU. So for me it's an acceptable cost.

Codes bscd28 and bscd29 wont work with sale items. I tried bscd27 but it says it's not valid. I don't know of any others.

BSCD28, for sure removes the sale prices if used. I tried it last night when I was making a purchase. I had to play around and finally got the coupon to remove. But still had original prices. Ended up deleting the cart and adding them again to get sale price. Shipping was a bit high, but considering I really only was ordering for the Space Needle set, I found the Doc and Public works to be a huge bonus. I also got Sponge bob and the IJ Bike set.

SW Twilight is on sale in Lego stores for 50% off....had my family go get me one. They didn't have anything else on sale....I wonder when/if their IJ sets will go on sale.

The Twlight was on sale online weeks ago, so if the stores just started to put them on sale then it will be 6-8 weeks before IJ sets will be on sale.

I used 28 I think, but I guess none of them work from what others here have said. Oh well. I'll save up for when medieval market village goes on sale :)

Twilights went down to $50 at my store the week after the website dropped. The Space Skulls dropped on a Wed. I think and when I went to price adjust that Sat. morning they were putting the new price stickers on. Just depends on the store and its employees. I'd just call the store to save a trip. And remember, anything in stock online can be ordered in store with free shipping.

Was bored today so went for a cruise. Stopped by 3 different Kmarts to see what I could find. Found the IJ Jungle Cutter on clearance for $20, plus
20% off, so $16. I snagged two of them. At another one I noticed a couple V-19 Torrents but they were labeled full price. A quick scan showed it
was on clearance, so I grabbed that as well. Seems like a pretty decent haul. Just may have to go head the other direction to check out a couple
more stores. haha
This is a bit ridiculous... 70 pieces for $28 and they pretty much show you how to build it.

ebay link

edit: 2 people actually bought these! I think I'm going to start selling some mosaics :D

link
That's hilarious. People will buy anything on Ebay.

I have seen it when people spent $20+ on four Star Wars minifigures that you could get in the same year's Battle Packs.

Yeah, I haven't decided if it's for me or my son, yet. Looks to have a couple of neat parts, but I don't know if I necessarily want to build it.

Finally bought Green Grocer at the LEGO store tonight after waiting 6 months or so ... since it was a fairly large purchase, I guess I qualified for 2 free child membership passes (part of a promotion running through April 30th when you spend $75 + in store). Now I don't have any kids ... so I'm kind of wondering what my options are as far as using these passes or selling them?

From doing a bit of research online, it seems like they're each worth about $99 bucks ... anyone have experience with this promotion? I'd love to upgrade the passes to adult passes but I don't think I can (I mean, they're only like $20 more ... ) or even combine 2 into one adult pass but I doubt either of those options will work. They say that they cannot be resold but I don't know for sure if you need to have the credit card that made the purchase with you when you redeem the passes or if the recipe and pass are simply enough. Anyone have any thoughts?

My brother got those passes as well....and was thinking of fleabaying them. Does it say credit card needed??

Anyhow, we are going to pick up some more sets on the last day of the TRU sale....does anyone know which one would be more collectible, and hold higher value....

IJ Peril in Peru #7628 or SW X-wing Fighter 6212. We're planning on getting 2....one to play with, one to save for the future. :)

However the Star Wars stuff is still wanted more even through there have been 10 releases of the same thing.

Plus if LEGO Star Wars really does end in 2 years than that will be worth a lot more, however we are likely to see another X-Wing, that will be almost exactly the same as the last one, released before then.

Does the X-Wing have any cool minifigures? The IJ set doesn't, always go by minifigures.

This is very true. I doubt the license will end but you never know. Anything can happen with Lego.

The X-Wing has better mini-figs by far. Which reminds me, I need to get me this set.

Both Lego and George Lucas would be idiots to let this license end. I would imagine both have made a ton of money off of this stuff.

I'm actually sick and tired of it... it's dominating and overpriced.

I will be glad if it's over.... though tempting to pick up clearence SW sets just for the piece count alone.

reminds me I should put up my minifigs online soon.

Yes, it has better minifigs....we just decided to get both. IJ Peril in Peru is limit 1 on lego.com...so does this mean that they will retire this set soon?? Anyone know?

I'm guessing it's because it was a Toys R Us exclusive, outside of the LEGO store and S@H of course.

Which is why it might end.

It's not an issue of how well it sells, George Lucass probably wants shitloads of money, which makes LEGO sell the Star Wars sets for an insane ammount of money. He will want more money from 2012 to whenever and it might be too much for LEGO because it might make an X-Wing, that used to be $30, $100.

My favorite is the $250 drop ship. You are better off on buying the two sets, AT-TE and the Attack Gunship or whatever, seperatly that would only cost $210, you get more pieces, and cooler minifigures. Then just mode it the ships as needed with the left over $40.

I thought the drop ship looked kinda lame, but I'm not a huge SW LEGO fan (more of a City/Space person myself). But it's pretty ridiculous it's cheaper/more pieces to buy them separately.

The dropship and AT-OT has 1758 pieces and only 8 common minifigures. Plus it looks unfinished for $250.

The attack gunship is $120 for 1,034 pieces, plus 799 pieces from the at-te. That's 1,833 pieces for $210. That includes 9 not so common minifigures, plus a battle droid and "Rotta". So which would I rather get?

I'm not shocked Star Wars fans don't realize that, they are insane about getting EVERY damn little set even if the had the previous released one.

Any sales or clearance deals this week? I know it isn't likely but I'm gunning for Shanghai Chase this week, might pick it up from Target. I feel like the vehicles will look good with Green Grocer, as I'm having trouble finding City sets that are detailed enough to add character to the modular sets. What do u guys think?

Target has their Easter stuff on clearance for 50% off which includes those Lego impulse and miniship sets they had in the candy section. Figures the only one I really wanted again, the mini V-Torrent, was sold out. Picked up a couple of those stranded pirate minifigs for $1.74.

Did you nkow that VT is the only state without a Target? :)
