LEGO Deals

Wow, that's pretty cool! I would've gotten the dropship, gunship, venator, Police HQ, and Battle for Alamut, if available (I assume it was only in-stock items?).

For me, sales at TRU are a mixed bag because there's usually a markup of $2-$10 on all sets. Being so focused on toys, TRU can't afford to have the kinds of sales the big box retailers can.

Do they make LEGOs based off the HALO video game? If so, does anyone know which B&M stores I can find them at? Thank you in advance.

Good to meet Jaymatik & Grilled in person

Oh, some insider info ... those white "prototype" boba fett minifigures are a run of 1,700 and will be given out at fan events and conventions (Comic Con, Brickcon, etc). Sadly they don't get them in until next month, so my dream of owning one is unlikely. This info came directly from the Steve Witt, LEGO Community Relations head for the U.S.

No, the Halo brand is owned by MegaBloks, however you can get Halo Master Chief helmet and armor for your LEGOs as well as energy swords and some of the other Halo weapons through this website -https://www.brickforge.com/store/home.php?cat=290

Definitely worth it if you order a couple of their different items, quality is very high too ... on par with LEGO as of late.

For vehicles, you're stuck with Megabloks or your own MOCs with LEGO.

I doubt it, but that won't stop me from trying. Definitely need to stay up this time and talk to a live rep when it opens.

I go to one drag show and there are two more pages of (useless) posts?! :)

Borders seems to get only 1-3 sets per shipment. Mine recently got in about 10 of the $10 Space fighters, neat looking set, but I already spent too much on clothing.

$20-100 kits come 2-3 per box, and $3.50-15.00 kits come 5-10 per box.

Most likely your borders is only getting a few at a time because they're ordering one box per store

Here's another one!

@etcrane and grilledwitonions - Nice meeting you. Wished I could have won one of those handicapped blind minifig packs. Although it was smaller than I expected, I still had fun. I especially liked the Keynote Speech by Mads Nipper. Very genuine and humble IMO.

And I still can't get over the fact I bought Cafe Corner for $38 at that shopping event. Actually, I'm still thinking about all that discounted LEGO. I regret not picking up some Duplo and Belville sets...

just got my add and yep 50 percent off yes! except last time there was only an indiana jones set clearance for 30 dollars reg 40 so 15 dollars is a pretty good deal

I went with my son to the grand opening of the lego store in Roosevelt field mall -Long Island yesterday. He really liked it. They had a spot where you make your own minifigures and pick a brick wall. We did not do pick a brick maybe next time. He did not know what to pick. We helped build a big buzz lightyear. They also had a freestyle buzz lightyear building contest which he did, and he had a lot of fun.

@jaymatik - it was great meeting you and etcrane as well. You both proved what I already knew - CAG is full of great, cool, nice people. Hope you can say the same about me ;)
As for the minority, I also wish I could have won one, bit I'll just live vicariously through my wife that did. We got the forest/Robin Hood Guy. Not what I wanted but still cool.
Mads was the best - a great speaker and very genuine. I love lego more than ever before. Weird to be so loyal to a company but I think they are loyal to us as well.

That's what the lego ambassador program is for :)
Now, I know this isn't your fault, but the links are broken.

For future reference, can we link to brickset for easier sharing? Here's a sample link http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8189-1

gadamnit

Lego kids insight just sent me a survery wondering if I would buy another new SW set... Looks like the Ep 1 Speed racer thing-a-ma-bob.

Anyways... they might be updating the Lego site... that was the middle part.

And the last bit wanted to know what a subscription was... most likely the Lego MMO.

Wow, for S@H price no less! Good looking out. I don't think it'll last too long over there...

Edit: and it's gone!

No deals at TRU for using the coupon, unless they do one of those FRI and SAT only specials.

Target had some SW and Atlantis sets for about 10% off as temporary price reductions. My store also got in the two smaller POP sets.

I didn't get a chance to look at the ad, but no sales to combo with?

bummer....

well if they aren't overpriced, couple Pop sets would be like 10-15% off.

Just preordered a 60-count box of the minifigs from Entertainment Earth...I feel kinda guilty spending so much on just figs...but after bing cashback it ends up actually being a small bit cheaper than buying them in stores, even with shipping....plus I get to keep the display box lol.

Plus the wife okay'd it, which helps.

I'll be more than happy to try to work things out with some of you as far as the extra figs I'll have, but I plan on keeping all of the zombies I get (plus some of the others perhaps), so I won't be able to get any of you a complete set unfortunately.

The other issue is that with them shipping SmartPost, I probably won't get them until after they've appeared in stores, so I'll break down and end up buying a few packs through retail as well more than likely...:bomb:

Motorized AT AT walker is currently in stock @ Amazon.com for S@H price. It's currently backordered at S@H and I believe it's supposed to be replaced by a new, non-motorized version later this year.

Aaannnd, the motorized AT-AT is gone.

Edit: but Green Grocer is back in stock.

Edit2: and now GG is OOS from Amazon direct again.

Medieval Market Village is $100 at Amazon. (I know that is the list price.) Is it possible to find this set at a lower price, or is that as good as it's going to get?

Unless you live by a Lego Store and find one for 30% discount and I haven't seen one like that in about a year. Another way is if TRU has another b1g1 1/2 off but TRU hasn't had it in stock since the firt b1g1 this year. I'm pretty sure that set is going to get discontinued pretty soon too. So this might be one of your last chances.

I checked amazon and they only have 35 in stock, well 34 I just bought another one! They must have just restocked it too because I checked like 2 days ago for it.

MMV set availability is limited enough where it's going to be tough to find cheaper than S@H price.

Amazon has been selling out of the harder to find Legos very quickly as well.

May Lego Store calendar is out and it's Star Wars month. Purchase any Star Wars branded item @ S@H on May 3rd and 4th and get an exclusive, limited edition offer. Last year, I heard it was a poster that entered you in a contest to win a UCS set? I wonder if this year will be a minifig or something else?

Other offers include free Dooku keychain with $50 Star Wars purchase (good all month), B1G1 50% off Star Wars magnet sets (May 11-12), and 50 VIP points with Tantive IV purchase (May 24th-27th).

No luck on those Cafe Corners. I did oversleep by two hours, so if anyone called in at opening time maybe they had more luck.
I can't wait for this set.

My son would love it!
3...about it? A very reasonable $79.99 price tag.
370 pieces, any guesses on price? My bet is $60.

That reminds me though, the Toy Story 3 train set is up for preorder on Amazon. The surprising part about it? A very reasonable $79.99 price tag.
I would say 54.99..... have they done a $60 price point before? can't remember....

Great set, saw it in person at Brick by the Bay ... love the Rex and Ham minifigures. My favorite is still the new Pizza Delivery truck ... packed with minifigures and it's a bit less ... toy-like than the train, if that makes any sense. Still, I think they're both a tremendous improvement over some of the earlier Toy Story sets.

Entertainment Earth has it priced at $49.99 for regular preorder.

If any of you want to do a LEGO survey, check out the front page of fbtb.net. I'd link it up here, but since I did the survey it's disabled.

Co-sign! The pizza delivery truck really looked good in person. Looks well built!

What is this deal? I'm guessing I missed it
What is this deal? I'm guessing I missed it
A few posters mentioned that they were able to purchase Cafe Corners for $38 at the Cali Lego convention. I figured that maybe a few might be left, for whatever reason.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. They do, or at least did, have the 9V charger for the NXT sets for only 5 dollars, but besides that there was nothing of interest.

So, back to deals. I went to a Kmart in Atlanta that seemed to be trapped in time, with lots of old stuff on the 50% off clearance. Got 4 Bionicle Barraki sets from 2007 for $5 each, as well as 2 of the smaller 15-20 piece Bionicle sets for $1.75. They also had these Bionicle branded squeeze launcher (had a lego # on it and everything) with a copyright date of 2003.
Lol ... and here I was looking forward to hearing about all the Wednesday deals I missed, but I guess everyone overslept ;)

Oh shoot, I knew there was something I wanted to get up early for today!

I doubt they had any anyways, what time do they open? I was awake at 8:10.
I was up, and went right through to a CSR. There weren't any deals worth mentioning. Mainly duplo, mindstorms, and play acessories (swords and shields for the kids)
No luck on those Cafe Corners. I did oversleep by two hours, so if anyone called in at opening time maybe they had more luck.
Yeah, the $38 Cafe Corner was a BBtB deal. If you registered for the con, you were allowed to go to the lego store and do a bulk purchase with everyone else who registered, and they do a bulk discount of 30-50% depending on how many participants there are (it might be how many kits are purchased, but not sure, I'll know more after I go to BrickCon this year)
