I was at the LEGO store this past weekend after BBtB. Looks like LEGO is discounting Home One. Price was $75 I believe. I hope this set drops even more. Next time they do a Fan's Choice Set, they should focus the price point to be at $49. That way, we can still get a decent set. Hopefully, TRU's Fan Choice City set is around that price.

If any of you SW fans need a C3PO or Admiral Ackbar, the LEGO stores have the new SW Magnet with both of them in it along with Princess Leia.

Yes, among other reasons. But really, they have a 30% off coupon twice a week.

I said that a few pages ago...

RAWR!!!!!
Thank god Big Daddy didn't bite on yesterday's coupon ... you've earned that 3% ;)
And it was delivered right to my spam mailbox.

Not sure if I'm going to use it or if I should use it on the $10 Space Police fighter or the $10 little Atlantis sub.
Looks like TRU has Home One Calamari Star Cruiser for 73.69 friday and saturday.
use the 5 off 25 toy purchase and knock that down to 68.69. might cover some tax with that.

^E: Which Borders has the best selection of LEGOs? I might check them out tonight. I know McCarthy Ranch is garbage.

According to Brickset it looks like the mystery minifigs have individual barcodes, albeit without readable numbers for us to easily track. Now somebody just needs to make an iphone ap for reading these...and they have to buy me an iphone too.

I don't have it but can you use Redline for that barcode thing? I don't have a data plan, so that app isn't really helpful to me.

Really it shouldn't be that hard to come up with a cheat strip of barcodes, just line it up and then you know!

I'll see about making one once I get every figure....

I'm still going to see if weighing them will show any difference, but I'd rather go barcoding than weighing.

J- hmm, hard to say, I've been to Sunnyvale & Los Gatos lately and they've both been kinda cleaned out. Most of the stores still have the Toy Story stuff and a bit of Star Wars and Ben10 but they all seem to be running low. I'm really hoping that we see a restock by May. If I hit up any other Borders this weekend, I'll let you know if I find anything that stands out.

I never get those coupons, how do you get them?

Last 3 weeks in March, the registers had PILES of them there for the taking.... it does come paired with some diapers... so it might be missed, but the coupon is 5 off 25 toy purchase.

1 good for 4-11 and the other at 4-18 for a week.

I might go to this today:

Intimations on Early Childhood- I LEGO® NY

Author, designer, and renowned illustrator Christoph Niemann, who clearly spends his time devoted to such things, has managed to construct New York City entirely out of LEGO® pieces and cleverly entitled it, I LEGO® N.Y. Listen to Niemann talk about the creative device behind this side job, and bring your own NYC LEGO® creation to enter to win a copy of Niemann’s book that will put your blocks to shame.

I stopped by my local Lego store today and they had the Clone and Assassin Droid Battlepacks for 60% off ($5.98). I picked up two more Clone packs. >_
50% off Bionicle figures at TRU this week ... yeah, it really is that exciting. ;)
It's only three particular models too. Also half off those little beginner sets (6191, 6192, 6193) which is a pretty good deal considering the piece counts in those sets. I got two of each set for $4 when Kmart had their 50% off clearance toys sale the first time.

I cleared out my local store on that sale, picked up 3 castle building sets and one pirate set.

Though, the castle set uses a viking torso, which I found rather odd. And the pirate set has a torso that is exclusive to that set (according to Peeron).

I don't know about you guys, but I'm actually pretty thankful that the sales have let up. It was pretty good pickings for a few weeks, but I ended up spending more then I was looking to spend on lego.

The good thing, is that a bunch of what I picked up is destined for resale :D
GAH! Why is it my Lego store never gets these deals? I'm blaming it on all the tourists (it's the Mall of America Lego store) and their willingness to drop tons of $ with no regard to price.
For some reason, the Hawaii store has had the Battle packs at 50% off for the last couple of months. This weekend the Clone packs went to 60%, so I had to grab a few more.

I couldn't resist. For some reason since BBTB I've been liking Bionicle so I picked up a few at TRU and used my $5 off coupon.

Does anyone have a current S@H code? All the ones I've found in the past pages do not work.

B311 still works for me.

Also, not sure if it's YMMV, but they extended the 33% off one item for Borders Rewards through Thursday for me.

^ It's everywhere, they sent out a new coupon.

From PaB...

TRU has the new TS sets online with free shipping on orders over $100. My favorite - Trash Compactor Escape is $49.99, which is MSRP. It would be great if they came in the stores this week. I can use the $5 off coupon!

Is that really the name of the volcano? Sounds like something my cat would type.

I was a couple of the PoP sets yesterday. The ostrich race at $20 seems steep but the $30 set with the dagger of time thing and the camel was tempting.
All Star Wars Lego sets Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, at TRU 4/25 - 5/1
God. damn. it., I just bought 2 sets with the justification that they never put Star Wars Lego on sale.
Hm, do I use my Amazon credit on Flagship or Battle of Alamut?
You have to ask? Flagship of course!
Ok, Flagship it is! :)

Did you buy from TRU? They have 90 return policy if you didn't open 'em.
Oh they're both opened. They stayed sealed for just the amount of time it took to drive home. It was the X-Wing and Vader's Tie. I could go re-buy them and return the unopened ones with my old receipts but I used gift cards to buy them and I don't have any more gift cards left so I'd basically be spending cash to buy gift cards...

Just take in the receipt. All you have to say is you bought something that is now on sale and you would like the difference back.

Well the problem is in one purchase I got the free $17 bucket (my first lego bucket or something) and in the other I used a $5 coupon. Its almost too much of a mess to figure out really and that's if I can find a TRU customer service employee willing to even go back and do all that.

Maybe I should just look forward and get the Venator and Endor sets...

I'm not sure what TRU's policy is on that, but most retailers only allow 7-10 days after the purchase date for adjustments.

^^ This.

Plus with any promotions, such as that bucket that you got free, will need to be returned.

TRU sucks with anything like that.

You could buy them, bring back the bucket and get your money back, but then you'd get GCs back since you paid that way, which would suck still.

oh, is it strange to feel incomplete without the Imperal Flagship in your possession?
oh, is it strange to feel incomplete without the Imperal Flagship in your possession?
I'm actually experiencing buyer's remorse. I feel I should have waited a bit before ordering one immediately after finding out that Amazon has it in stock.

That's not to say that the set isn't going to be great, but my room is starting to get overran with Lego. I'm not even sure where I'll be able to place the ship.

Happened to be awake and this week's phone special included the same as last week except for 1 item, a "castle building set" that was sold out by the time the rep got to me. Damn people sure do snatch those deals up right quick. :p

The "official" policy is actually 14 days but no one I know ever follows it, or even knows it. At my store, we will give the full 90 days within the return policy. As long as the register takes it back, we have no problem doing it.

(This policy is not posted anywhere so it will be hard for them to even deny this past the 14 days)

As for the bucket, the register won't prompt for it back during a return. Most won't even know you got something for free. Only the most anal of the service desk employees might actually look at every item on the reciept or remember this sale even took place.

A return/rebuy with 2 lego sets would take no more than 2-3 minutes tops.

ooh Thanks for the info! Though I can't personally say I'll do that since it would be impossible to line up a back-to-Back sale, but one could score some freebies.

nice! I'm sure the US will have a similar system.. shouldn't be much different. maybe I don't have to weigh them now.

Nice that they aren't going to do that, completely invisible like a gashapon.

Now I wonder which ones are going to be more rare....

Well from what we are told there are 60 in a box and two boxes in the display. If there are 16 minifigures in the series and at least 3 in each one, will there really be any "rare" ones?

The ones I want most are the cheerleader and the robot.

For some reason, I'm picturing the only minifigs I find in the wild being the magician, crash test dummy and wrestler. But I am a pessimist.
