LEGO Deals

Hmm, yeah I vaguely recall seeing it for $325 on here before ... the current deal seems like a good one but I don't think I have an extra $400 I can put towards LEGOs right now. Already placed 2 orders tonight for one of the magnet sets and another set with an Ackbar keychain and Minotaurus.

I'm thinking I'll drop by the LEGO store tomorrow and see if I can grab the Pizza Planet car and those SW magnets that aren't on S@H and then call it a day until June instead of dropping $400 on a potential investment that takes up a whole lot of space.

I am a huge LEGO set/game fan so I am always trying to find the rare deals.

Lego may have the tighest pricing of any company I know.

I just got an email saying today (May 3) and tomorrow (May 4) the LEGO web store has a special offer.

No deals actually just free shipping shipping on orders over $75 and some schwag.

There is also a contest for a minifig.

However, check TRU online. They have free shipping on all orders over $100 and a buy 1 get 50% off deals for ALL Star Wars items, including LEGO.

I bought a few things but the best stuff was out of stock. I have no idea how long that offer runs.

Good luck and let's see more LEGO fans chasing down deals!

UCS Falcon just popped back up. I guess that had some more in stock. I hear the Canadian S@H accidentally put the prices at 75% off for a few hours, selling the Falcon at $120 Canadian. Lucky Kanucks.

I wished they posted the size of the sticker sheet. Does anyone know? Probably close to actual minifig scale...

Oh yeah, I heard about that although the price I read it was at was $170 CND...does Lego actually honor those kinds of price errors?

I'd never buy a 5000 pc Lego set for myself--just too big/heavy to display or play with for me. But for $170US, I'd buy one just to resell. :p

Always. Last year they sold a $20 and a $35 Power Miner set for $5 each. I got a $120 RC Technic race car for $8 6-7 years ago.

Oh wow, a bunch of Summer sets are in stock or soon to be in stock @TRU including Kingdoms Prison Rescue, City Airport stuff, Power Miners, Atlantis...

I want that Prison Rescue and the Passenger Plane or maybe the Airport...

The Atlantis Explorers HQ looks excellent. As do the airport and airplane (only $35 for a passenger plane!).
Yeah the plane is awesome. The Atlantis $100 shark base is one of the best bases LEGO has ever made.
It's good, but the best? it certainly does look like it's worth the $100 though.

I hope they have another b1g1 soon for those sets.

Seeing the PoP and TS3 sale @TRU this week, I'm going to try real hard to hold off on buying these Summer sets right away.

I dunno if I can resist $35 passenger plane though. I'll probably get that early. >_

It does have a 1000+ piece count but they must all be very small pieces because the set doesn't look that big really.

I agree the shark base looks cool but I'm beginning to think more and more that LEGO seems to be designing most of its more recent bases as builds that look really awesome from a front perspective (aka the picture you see on the box) but kind of lack good playability or anything exciting when approached from any other angle.

I remember back in the day when LEGO bases used to have lots of little built in hidden places and things on the back and sides that made for more than just a facade that looks cool ... I guess the IJ temple was kind of more like those old sets, though it was ultimately a disappointing set on a number of levels.

But back to my point, in looking at the pictures on the box for this set, it seems that it looks good from the front but I'm just not sure there's all that much to it. Guess I'll have to wait and take a look at the box more closely sometime.

Yes, LEGO action bases are normally crap. Plus the thing has a working Stargate! That makes it awesome!

LEGO admitted to that. The designers of the last human Castle castle, the dark blue one from 2006 or 2007, admitted what they designed was different but had to be changed to look good on a box because that's all kids look at.

However , once again, Atlantis has a working Stargate! :)

Plus most LEGO sets don't have a back anyways, so it's not big deal. The Space Police station looks really cool too.
I saw that earlier today. That's an awesome jet and correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like it is minifig scale.
The cockpit canopies look minifig scale, but I think the interior needs to be modded from the instructions to fit one inside.
Um, guys... it's LEGO. If you don't like the model, you can change it! :)
But for the price of LEGOs today the models better be damn nice.

EPIC reply

Yeah alot of teeth, and such, it's alot of pieces, but no sides..
Three pounds of Legos in one huge fucking jet:

very nice, Creator had a similar jet for around 300 some pieces, but I don't know if $57 @ TRU is worth it. Creator series usually had their peice count to match about 10 cents per piece or less.

This one is nice, but pricey and they offer similar colors of last set too.

I liked the Viking fortress, a bit skimpy but overall an actual playset. Bat Lord's castle has that bit of flair with it too, and that one you can disconnect or rebuild it with a different look.

I haven't opened my Seige Castle yet, but from pictures, it looks proper, but the Troll Mountain fortress, it seems it's just a "front".

That's fine, but the illusion to put some side walls or something would be nice.

:whee::rofl: That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it, it's a freaking Stargate!

I love the make shift sharkes, and the tiling of the walls are good, but it's alot of small pieces, and if it had a deeper base, where the stair case could be further back to have an opening from the front, I think it would be more complete.

ugh, I just bought 2 of the bigger PoP sets so I don't think I'm going to buy these at cost. I will have to wait till they go on sale. I'm still saving up for that Imperial Armada ship.... if it will ever go on sale.

Then in June, just seen the lego magazine, the minifigs are coming! I'm going to be broke

A lot... a.... lot... ;)

Since you guys kept talking about it, both of the big Summer Atlantis HQ sets are now In Stock @ TRU. It won't last long before they run out/get pulled prior to "official" release.

Edit: I also overlooked that TS3 Pizza Planet set is a Target exclusive. It's available to order on the Target and Target/Amazon websites now. Should start seeing them in store too if you haven't already.

Another option is of course, S @ H/Lego Store. The free shipping offer for orders over $75 expires today and does stack w/$5 off promo code B311.

I don’t think I’m going to buy anything else until the Harry Potter sets come out. I already finished up as much of the last Castle line as I could get by buying the drawbridge, chariot and MMV. That UCS MF was tempting, but I couldn’t justify spending almost $400 on it. Now if I find some 75% off goodies, that’s a different story

This may have been posted somewhere in the last 225 pages but I had never heard about it so I figure it may help someone out. I bought my son the Iron Man kids meal at Burger King this afternoon and it includes a 20% off a toy purchase coupon that states it is valid on regular, sale AND clearence priced items. I don't shop at K-Mart but if there is a Lego sale you could save some good money...

oh that's good, I remember the coupon that Transformers had too... I think it was from BK....

Anyways... When does it expire?

Isn't Nasa like closing down? Well, not closing, just like not flying anymore?

I kinda find that funny...... that lego is releasing a set like that. Happy fairwell?

Yeah, it sounds celebratory--a last hurrah for the Shuttle program as it were. This set should do well in the education market. At least, I think it's a good fit.

My problem with the shuttle, in LEGO version, my real life problems with the shuttle are too long, is that it's juts like the last one they released. With the LEGO Discovery theme from several years back it looks just like it with boosters which is neat. If this was any other year I'd say the set would be $100 but god knows what LEGO is thinking with it now, probably like $120.

LEGO has made several shuttle sets throughout the years and this summer will see the last launch of the shittle... I mean shuttle ever so LEGO is going out with a bang.

I have the Discovery shuttle and the Space Port one, those are good enough for me even when missing the booster packs.
Man, I'll get that shuttle. I had the 1990 one when I was a kid: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=1682-1
That was one of my favorite sets when I was a kid and I pretty much always had it assembled. In fact it isn't entirely unlikely that is it still assembled at my parents house. I'm going to have to try to find that the next time I visit.

Well only UK at the moment, but it's about time--they should be rewarding everyone who shops Lego Direct, no matter what form--especially the folks willing to shell out shipping fees for ordering online. :p

It'd be nice if they did a retroactive reward for previous online/phone purchases (I know they won't, but it sure would be nice).
