I can confirm that my Austin, TX TRU has ALL the Power Mines sets at 25% off - yes even the little ones not in the picture in the ad.

oh that's nice, because I want 2 of the small sets, they are good till Saturday right?

Thanks.

I went to Big Lots they had one Duplo set and one Bionicle crap thing.

A Walmart I went to had two Dwarf's Mine for $45, I didn't remember to scan to see if it were cheaper. I was hoping for a $30 Castle. :)

^ I love you!

Be My Valentine! :D

The Space Police sets are awesome, I love 5971, however that will most likely be $45.

There seems to be a lot of little sets and the police would die if they had those helmets in space, there is no bottom on the helmet. :)

Also the Agents sets, boy I'm really liking that theme! I hope to get a few of them on sale sometime (I only have the $10 set), and for them to be in stock TRU!!!! A golden dinosaur in a $13 set!!

haha

well space police total win there. will definately grab a bunch of the small sets.

Agents is really looking good, more of that please.

Can't wait!

Eurobricks has a TRU Exclusive Star Wars set if anyone cares, it's a blah A-Wing and a bay thing that will most likely be $150.

Yeah right, that thing is sweet. Digging the green A-Wing especially.

As for everyone else... you can buy all the SP3 you want; maybe that'll make it easier for me to find SP 1 & 2 on eBay.

I have to admit I'm kind of digging the A-wing set, it's not my favorite Star Wars set but I do think the new Mon Calamari heads are kinda fun and I'm definitely digging it more than the god-awful clone wars sets that seem to be flooding shelves lately ... seriously, can't we just abolish the prequels or something ... You know what would be a sweet set ... a big Cloud City set or Jabba's Palace (I know the latter has been done, but I want it done better ;-) ).

Question for ya'll ... I've noticed quite a few Halo minifigs on eBay ... I'm assuming folks are getting these from brickforge and then selling them for more? Is brickforge a safe website to shop on, and are there places where I can buy the rest of the minifig (same color legs and torso) to go with the helmets and armor they sell? Any other cool custom lego part sites that folks recommend (I'm looking for one's where I can buy directly from the website, like brickforge). Thanks!

I would like the A-Wing if it were green and white, not mainly white with a little green.

The new heads for all the sets are awesome.

Clone Wars have about two dozen different sets out because of the CGI crap TV show. I have never seen LEGO release so many sets in the same theme at once.

There was a big Cloud City set, it was the first LEGO set to feature a "black" guy, it was $100 several years ago. It's actually the set that started to cause all the "skin tone" issues. Yellow LEGO guys aren't meant to be white guys, they are just yellow. If you make one of them "black" then that means yellow = white and LEGO has been racist for 30-40 years.

My problem with this set, the A-Wing will most likely be $30, and the rest will be another $60-$70, so $100 for that thing. It's only the price that is the issue to me.

I also just noticed a stop sign in one of the Space Police sets, now that is funny!

I've noticed the newer Star Wars Legos are quite a bit more detailed and have more custom pieces than the original SW sets ... I think it would be awesome to see some new renditions of the older sets with the new design philosophy. Just out of curiosity Big, have you dealt with Brickforge? Any thoughts on their stuff or comparable custom sites?
Just out of curiosity Big, have you dealt with Brickforge? Any thoughts on their stuff or comparable custom sites?
No I haven't, I think they only use PayPal which I don't have.

However I have seen how the pieces are made, they are made just like LEGO pieces and people say they are great. The colors are slightly off, but I think the blacks look the same.

You might want to buy up some of the Halo pieces because MEGABLOKS bought the Halo rights and I can see Microsoft going after them.

Well, I ordered some stuff off of it, so I guess we'll see how it turns out. It's cheaper than buying the full Halo lego figures on ebay and I have enough random minifigs around that I can see how the stuff looks. I really like the concept of custom lego stuff that looks professionally done ... very cool

I don't come in here very often but I am really looking forward to the new A-wing set. Look at my name, look at my picture, this is the set I have been waiting years for

Finally the last of my paypal money from the Microsoft cash back system and bit on the medieval market village... guess it will be here around APRIL.

LEGO.com offer:

Get a 5610 Builder Minifigure for $.01 with any purchase over $75. Just enter code PSJ1 at the checkout and the builder get added to your order. No need to add one yourself. Expires 4/15/09.

Of course, its not as good as $5 off $20+, but just in case that doesn't work its better than nothing.

For all of you who have Fred Meyer's near there is a lot of clearance stuff, and this weekend it is 50% off. Nothing I wanted was still in stock, but I saw the Coast Guard Truck with Speed Boat for $15 or $16 and the Castle Troll Warship for around $30. Empty spots where Batman stuff used to be had clearance tags but were gone when I was there. Those would be a great find for anyone though, I am pretty sure Robin's Scuba Jet: Attack of the Penguin would have been about 7.50, that is the only one I can remember. I was pretty sad those were all gone.

The train looks amazing, but I hope it doesn't adapt to a new 8-wide dimension, that means I would not be integrating it into my town since I have too many 6-wide trains already.

Anyone know of any coupons for TRU? I would love to combine them with the upcoming sale tomorrow for an even lower price. If not, I'll try to get Walmart to match so I get the 20% off a lower price.

Where do you guys buy Impulse sets? I want the Pirate ones but TRU is the only place that carries them and I refuse to pay $6.99 for one.

Oddly enough the whole point of the Impulse sets were so that grocery stores and such would sell them.

They don't! I have never seen them outside a LEGO Store or two in a TRU, only two different ones at Walmart.

Toy Fair pictures are starting to come in.

And more Star Wars Clone Wars sets! Just what we needed! Honestly there are 30 different Clone War sets and to buy all of them would cost like $3000.

The new set is only $250!!!

Castle Chariot is fucking $20?!?! You get that little damn thing with only one fucking horse for $20?!!?

The Sports Car is $10! LEGO pricing this year seems weird. The older themes get screwed, and the newer ones are cheaper.

LEGO TOY STORY IN 2010!!!!

In one of the most exciting License deals Lego has joined forces with Disney to bring the Disney world to life for millions of Lego fans. Beginning in 2010 we will see Lego and Lego Duplo sets for Toy Story, Cars and the new Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer film Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

NEW YORK, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ — American International Toy Fair – The LEGO Group and Disney Consumer Products today announced a multi-year licensing agreement that gives the world’s premiere construction toy brand access to an extensive portfolio of renowned Disney and Disney Pixar properties. LEGO® and LEGO DUPLO® products are currently in development for three franchises — Disney Pixar’s Toy Story and Cars, and Prince of Persia — all scheduled to launch in 2010.

Toy Story

Children’s imaginations will go “To infinity and beyond” when, beginning in 2010, they will be able to re-create the adventures of Buzz Lightyear and Woody with LEGO toys inspired by the Toy Story franchise. Toy Story-themed construction sets will be available on both LEGO DUPLO and LEGO System platforms, building the adventure and fun for children ages 2-12. LEGO System products based on Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will launch in January 2010, to be followed in May by construction sets based on the new animated feature, Toy Story 3, scheduled to hit theaters in Disney Digital 3D June 2010. Toy Story-themed LEGO DUPLO products launch in June 2010.

Cars

Lightning McQueen will rev his engine at the starting line of a DUPLO portfolio that will have young builders creating and exploring the high-octane world of the Cars franchise. The Cars-themed LEGO DUPLO line will feature iconic scenes from Radiator Springs and the Piston Cup Championship raceway and will feature favorite Cars characters like McQueen, Mater and Sally. Cars-themed LEGO DUPLO products are scheduled to launch in June 2010.

Prince of Persia

A line of LEGO System construction toys based on Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Mike Newell and scheduled to release in May 2010 is also in development. The film, based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina and Gemma Arterton in an epic tale of Prince Dastan’s struggle to stop an evil ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Prince of Persia-themed LEGO products are scheduled to launch in April 2010.

“We are thrilled to team up with Disney, another of the world’s premium brands for families with children,” said Jorgen Vig Knudstorp, CEO LEGO Group. “When two brands who share similar values bring their franchises together — in this case a timeless play pattern with some of the industry’s most beloved stories and characters — and combine their access to families, retail strength and marketing power, amazing things can happen. We can’t wait to launch the first three lines and look forward to exploring all of the ways in which we bring the wonderful world of Disney to life in LEGO form.”

“Joining forces with LEGO Group speaks to the commitment and vision both companies share for quality product and innovative creativity that invigorates kids play,” said Vince Klaseus, senior vice president, global toys, Disney Consumer Products. “Our collaboration will continue to extend the vitality of our roster of franchises by bringing our characters and their worlds to life in a fresh and exciting way. Through these new LEGO product lines, Disney will continue to build presence in the construction toys category and grow market share in the boys demographic.”

The LEGO Group is a privately held, family-owned company, based in Billund, Denmark. It was founded in 1932 and today the group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of play materials for children. The company is committed to the development of children’s creative and imaginative abilities through its products, which can be purchased in more than 130 countries.
I understand Cars, but Toy Story?

Also Prince of Persia? So there will be Castle, IJ, Pirates and Prince of Persia, busy year for "historic" LEGO fans.

Go to a Lego store. That was the only place I found them for NOT 6.99

That and Target had some Castle/Town sets for cheap too at xmas.

Sucks because I think Lego can make much more if yes, every supermarket would carry these.

It would definately hurt the mini-fig market if these minifig impulse sets can be found for not 7.

I'd love to get more pirates and even more soldiers.

could go to Lego.com and pick up 7 of those impulse sets at 3.50 each then shipping is only 4.95. Go over 25 though and it bumps up to 7 shipping.

so for 7 at 3.5 plus the 5 shipping, it'll be only 4.22 each without tax.

Lego doesn't charge tax here... no stores :(

I might actually snag a few... 7 hmm...

It would be really awesome to get a 5 off 20 or at least a free shipping code. be able to snag all those impulse at cost.

Thanks for the code, although it can't be combined with Sales items. Items will go back to regular price if code is applied. Oh well.

Yeah with the codes you have to call your order in if you want the sale price.

Interesting bits from me surfing for LEGO info.

LEGO Agents this year is officially called LEGO AGENTS 2.0.

More important news... one of the Space Police officers is...... a woman!!!! I think that is the first female cop ever! Good to know a few hundred years in the future woman can be a police officer too! :)

true, didn't think of looking, usually my wife tells me there are any codes.

Maybe she doesn't want me to buy any more lego's....

I should post by Bricklog for unbuilt sets... it's gotta be taller than I am.

Holy shit the camper splits open in the back. That is awesome. I can't wait for the new sets.

Got Walmart to price match the TRU ad for Pirates Loot Island. $16 instead of the $18+. Unfortunately they were OOS on the Fort so I will have to check another one.

Found a Skeleton Ship Attack at TRU for $48, after 20% off clearance items.

7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid - 216pcs - $24.99
7749 - Echo Base - 155pcs - $24.99
7753 - Pirate Tank - 372pcs - EST $39.99
7754 - Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser - ?pcs - $109.99
7778 - Midi-Scale Millenium Falcon - 356pcs - EST $34.99
8036 - Separatists Shuttle - 259pcs - $29.99
8037 - Anakin's Y-Wing Starfighter - 570 pcs - $59.99
8038 - The Battle Of Endor - 890 - $89.99
8039 - Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser - 1169pcs - $119.99
10195 - Republic Dropship with AT-OT - 1758 - $249.99

I like that Falcon price, too bad it will most likely be $50.

FBTB has pricing...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/no_onions/

Some of the set pries are awesome, but can change, like the camper which is only $17. But others, like the Sports Car is $10.

The Space Police and Miner sets seem the cheapest, like LEGO wants to draw you in for the first year and screw you over in future releases. :)

Wish list

6751 Fiery Legend $40
5973 Hyperspeed Pursuit $50
5974 Galactic Enforcer $100
5972 Container Heist $30
5971 Gold Heist $20
5970 Freeze Ray Frenzy $10
5969 Squidman's Escape $6
7097 Troll's Dark Fortress $100
7079 Drawbridge Defense $40
7078 King's Battle $20

I'm not excited at all at the new city vehicles other than the bus. The RV, tow truck, convertible, all look very generic without much exterior details; especially so for the 6-wide cars. With the added width I'd imagine there is more exterior space for added realism.

I think the tow truck has a lot of detail for a $13 set. I'm just pissed about the car being $10. The camper I'm getting because bikes are hard to get, and I can't remember the last set that had surf board.

Picked up the Fort from the Pirates set today at tru for 43 .. not that bad.

I got to see the HUGE box of the 500$ Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon. The tru I visited had one on the shelf and the box was pretty beat up. You could tell it's been sitting there for a very long time.

Fry's grocery store by me (Gilbert, AZ) had a huge table full of lego sets on clearance. Star Wars, City, Speed Racer, Bionicle and others. $49.99 ones were down to $36 and $39.99 were down to $23. I haven't kept up on legos in awhile so i'm not sure what sets they had but looked like at least 20 different sets on sale.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/no_onions/3283315554/in/set-72157613864464198/

This Lamborgini would look really nice next to my same scale Ferrari...it would look even nicer if I could get it on clearance like I did the Ferrari, but I'll have to wait at least a year for that.

Stopped by TRU yesterday as they have an extra 20% off clearance items. They only had one set on clearance which was some Technics power dino set for $55 after discount...blah. They also had the big farm set in stock...too expensive. No discount on the Pirates Kraken set...boooo.

The Lego Batman video game for Xbox 360 is on clearance at Target...you might be able to find it at $25 now, but it could go to $12.50 if your store has enough to last.
What's the most expensive piece of lego these days? My friend had a porsche he was able to buy off ebay.
I'm not sure I understand your question. The Millennium Falcon for $500?

That's a good deal, the moving parts alone are probably worth that. It is a $90 set after all.
