TRU ad this week has three city sets for 33% off...the construction roller, the wind turbine transport, and the farm.

Wind turbine transport for $40 is a good deal as its a pretty cool set and I don't think that set had it's price jacked up.

Funny thing is the ad says prices from $21.43 to $60.29. But the website says the Farm is $66.xx and I remember a TRU store with the farm at over $100. Look like the ad price is from the original farm price before they jacked up all the prices 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Anybody have any TRU coupons floating around out there?
There's a $5 off $25 coupon that is in store at the registers, it's actually 2 coupons in a little square pink booklet with a $5 off for 1/5 to 1/9 and another for 1/10 to 1/18

Damn. Which I knew that before I bought the Turbine set today with my TRU Rewards...

I found that Republic Tank at a Target for $24 or something. The box was open, so I looked inside. Whoever returned it put all the pieces in one big ziploc bag and taped the box shut. I quickly looked through the bag, but it looked like the minifigs were missing. There were also a couple of pieces rattling around loose in the box so I left it. I can't believe Target didn't check it closely.

that's pretty bad.... Target really should have investigated that.

And you left it? now some kid is going to be so disappointed :booty:
Damn TRU had no farm sets today. I thought they would have restocked by now.
TRU restocks?! People at TRU would actually need to do some work!

This is true, I have sat and watched them do Non-work, they are very good at it.

Don't underestimate the ability of TRU to not stock anything and actually not have items they are having a sale on.

I was tempted to get that turbine, but I'll waste gas to get there, time to get there... and all for one set that probably isn't there.

I'll save myself the time and just poke my eyeball out here at work.

Same with Lowes, I have applied to Lowes a few times, the last time I even wrote "I'd actually do work instead of stand in a group and play cell phone games when talking to the other people not working", because I got so pissed off at them. Seven people in the garden section, one cashier checking someone out who had 15 doors, 4 guys my age talking and playing games while "watering" the plants (they were watering the ground) and 1-2 random people walking around aimlessly in the back near the stones. I went inside to see a mess of 50 people trying to check out and just left the store. Went to buy some food, 20-30 minutes later left the grocery store and the people with the 15 doors were now just leaving!

Oddly enough TRU is only 2 stores down...

Is anyone still finding the Dwarf Warrior Battle Packs in Lego stores, and if so, are they at the discounted price (something under $15)? I'd love to get a couple, but I'm nowhere near a Lego store, and Shop at Home is sold out. If anyone would be willing to pick me up two packages, I can Paypal cost + shipping + at least a few dollars for your trouble. Thanks.

Same here, I'd gladly take Dwarf and/or Troll if you're willing to do some shopping. I have no access to any Lego store and I am disappointed in myself for not picking up another set of Knights and Skeletons BP.

I think the Dwarf set is one of the best right behind the K/Sk BPs.

I think the Trolls are ok, but could use some better props.

I am greatly disappointed with the Pirates BP though.

Might take the kids to the mini-build tomorrow at the Lego store...I can look for you guys. What price do you want them at and how many if I find them?

Awesome, I will love you forever.

I'd like two of the Dwarf Warrior Battle Packs if they're $14.98 (the regular price).

If they somehow manage to be $10.98 (the sale price on Shop @ Home, but were never in stock at that price), then I'd like three.

Thanks.

anything below MSRP, and one of each if you find them. I think at least 2 would be nice (1 of each or 2 of whatever you find), and will Paypal an amount you agree with.

you can take mine out of the box and ship them for less... easily $2-3 bucks versus more if left in box.

And THANKS!

You should write a complaint letter - one to Corporate and one to the store. I've done that to at least 5 stores this past year where I thought the customer service was lacking or the associates were in the wrong. I usually get a prompt response with a gift card to make me come back to the store. I've even sent one to one of my local TRU, but all I got was a call from the store manager. At least then I was able to let him know my issues. Whether it mattered to him or not is anyone's guess, but at least Corporate knows that there's complaints about his store.

Some pretty good sales at my local Lego Store. Had Cafe Corner for 25% off and a bunch of other sets for decent prices.

Also at Wal-Mart I found a Robo Attack for half price but could not find any type of consistency on the sale pricing. The other sets I checked the price on, that I thought perhaps would also be on sale, seemed to be full price. Is there any way to find a listing of discounted sets? Or is this a YMMV situation? Was hoping for the Agents Chopper to be half off but didn't get a chance to price check it.

The Agents Aerial Defense rang up for $54 at my local Wal-Mart.

I'll look tomorrow.

xycury, you want dwarves, knights, and/or trolls in that order if they have them? And only if they have them on sale/clearance right?

I did some major shopping at WM today.

I hit three of them after work and this was my haul:

WM 1 - Not too many sets, these were the only ones on clearance:

7673: MagnaGuard Starfighter - $22.43
8956: Stone Chopper - $3.98

WM 2 - Had a lot of stock, even the new Toy Story and Star Wars sets.

6241: Loot Island - $9.98
6239: Cannon Battle - $2.98

WM 3 - Didn't find anything in the regular aisle, but then found a bunch more in the garden section :whistle2:k

7998: Heavy Hauler - $20
7686: Helicopter Transporter - $19
7676: Republic Attack Gunship - $70

Wasn't the Republic Attack Gunship $30 at one point last spring? I wonder if it was sitting in the back for the longest time.
I was surprised that none of the Agents sets I saw were clearanced, including the helicopter and the 4-wheel something.
I don't know how many, if any, I'm going to keep. I figured 50% off lego is hard to come by so I bought what I could
Let me know if you decide you don't want to keep the Pirates sets. They'd go well with the King's Castle Siege I bought from you about this same time last year. ;)

Yes please, if they have dwarves and knights, I'll take 1 of each.

No Dwarves then Knights and trolls... and well only trolls then I guess 2 of those.

Really if they are < MSRP I'll pay for them :)

MAN!.... I wish I could find the Island and the cannon battle for that much. wow.

And that asile by the Garden Section is the "clearance" isle.... usually a bunch of crap in there.

I might see a set or two, but not much, usually they are flagged in the lego isle.

I would guess that they didn't have room for them in the other isle with all the new sets coming in.

Man, I would buy a bunch of those. My son loves pirates! Do you have any extra of those? If you do, I can Paypal the cost of those sets plus shipping and whatever other fair fee you want. I don't need the boxes.

The Walmarts around me are dry. I've never found anything good on clearance at Walmart...

Do they still have any cafe corners left there?

Max

Just went to a different walmart during my lunch break and found:

8958: Granite Grinder - $5

Everything else was either the new stuff or not marked down yet. They had the Temple of Doom track set, but it rang up at $90.

Where are all the castle sets?? I was hoping to grab the Troll/Orc Castle, King's Carriage, and the Jester set but I haven't seen them at any Targets or Walmarts. Hopefully they'll restock in time for the spring clearance :)

WM near me is all sold out, they got hit HARD with xmas.... all that was left was maybe bioncle and some bigger sets. No castles sets at all.

The other WM though has them in stock, they have a good selection, including some 2010 sets.

Same here, though all I really need is the Jester/Drawbridge set, I'd still like to find more Castle at discounts.

Sorry guys, my Lego store had absolutely no castle sets what-so-ever. Manager said not to expect any either including the newer troll castle and drawbridge unless they receive some damaged box shipments. No more pirates and Indy sets either and only a few agents sets. The Duplo section was the best looking, well stocked section of the store.

Did get two of the blue plates though. And I saved $120 as all the train sets sold out so I didn't "have" to buy one.

Anyone seen if they have the Imperial Flagship in stock at the Lego stores this weekend? I might trek out to one and my girlfriend owes me a present. :)

Yep, $179.99. Had one on display too...big,tall ship. I'd call first though.

Stopped at another Walmart last night and found:

8960: Thunder Driller - $14
7691: ETX Alien Mothership Assault - $15

I have no idea where that Mars Mission set had been hiding for so long. It had a $50, $35 and a $15 tag on it.

That's too bad about the castle sets. I did find a couple of the king's chariot at Target, though I didn't buy them. I have to take a trip out to the Lego store myself to fill up my holiday brick box, so I'll let you guys know if I find those battle packs.

yeah Duplo seemed to have exploded.... dozen new sets... I really wonder how well they sell, because I rarely see duplo bricks reselling much on the used market.

you lucky son-a-va-bitch!

I never was able to snag one of those... seemed like it was quite difficult to even find that set.

you're practically stealing it at $15. :applause:

I hit two Walmarts and one Toys R' Us yesterday. Both Walmarts were a disappointment. Both had only 3 Star Wars sets at original prices. The Toys R' Us was hit pretty hard too. They only had pirates impulse sets, the army men set, a few technic sets and a few Toy Story sets. There was also one Fire Station set (7945) and the Cargo Plane (7734).

I decided to pick up the Cargo Plane as I always wanted a larger Lego plane and since there was no Wind Turbine Transport (7747,) despite there being three different spots designated for them, I didn't want to leave with empty hands. The Cargo Plane was at the original price but a lady in front of us gave us her $5 off coupon that she didn't use. The plane is a bit too duploised for my taste, but still pretty cool.

Today I visited another Toys R' Us as I still wanted to get the Wind Turbine Transport. To my surprised the store was incredibly well stocked, and there was plenty of the Wind Turbine Transports to go around. I picked one up and looked for that little pink booklet that was mentioned earlier in the thread, yet didn't see one. Still a pretty good deal at $40.

Oh yeah, also received my Train Station (7997) yesterday. Added it to my Emerald Night (10194) display, still waiting for the tracks (7896) to ship out so I can complete the display. I was a bit scared that the station is too wide to fit, but everything just barely fit with the outside studs of the tracks sticking out from the shelf.

Pic of the display so far:

The only thing ladies love more than a tasteful LEGO display is encrusted dead bugs on the wall. Trust me on this, fellas.

I'm sure this was discussed, but what does everyone do with their sets? Keep 'em in storage, display them in a designated room, etc etc? Storage is one reason I don't do much collecting...any suggestions on display boxes or stands? I like the acrylic ones that you see in the stores...

Ikea makes a great glass door cabinet tower... I read in the Big Sister/Daddy Bioshock doll er action figure thread.

They have them for 60, comes in blackish and whitish. cheap and they look nice.

as for the question, I've got a table full of completed sets taking room, I'll eventually dismantle them but I want to take some pictures and action shots.... something fun.

of course play with the ones out. Otherwise, they are just in bags. lots and lots of bags.

Shelves, wall shelves everywhere. They are the most versatile, which is great as Lego sets tend to vary in size from each other. I amused myself with the idea of acrylic cases plus shelves, as dust can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but I haven't made up my mind on that yet.

I also keep some sets in their original packaging, either due to collecting and preserving their value, or just out of lack of room for a build set.

Usually only have one or two models built at any one time. Don't have any sort of official display area. Usually a week or two after building, I completely dismantle it, place all parts in Ziploc bag(s) and those back into the original boxes, which get stacked in our second bedroom closet. Eventually, when we get nice shelving for the basement, I'll probably store them down there.

Right now, I have the Green Grocer, slightly customized for the holidays (Santa on the roof, a snowman in the back yard, a string of micro lights threaded throughout and secured in the windows so as to look like candles), on a sideboard in our dining room. It's quite festive. ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys! Anyone know when the next store coupon is supposed to come out? I lost track. :p

Seems like the only promo right now is for free shark man.

Anyone know if the free Shark man promo is going in LEGO stores as well?

Went to my local Lego Store today. Still had some Castle Battle Packs available. Dwarves and Troll packs were about $13 with tax. There was some discussion earlier in the thread, people looking for them. I dunno if that is a good price or not, but if someone is desperate for them, I don't mind working something out.

I did picked up 7037 Tower Raid for 25% off, which put it at about $22.xx.

I'm really kind of sad that the Castle line is being discontinued. It was the theme that got me into collecting Legos (that and Batman Legos). And the replacement to Castle looks so bland.

Here's hoping the PoP sets turn out to be pretty good.
