Lois Lane Smallville Topic (Season 8 DVD/Blu 8/25, Season 9 Premiere Friday 9/25)
But then that would end the show real quickly now wouldn't it? ;)
Are you kidding? if they just had Lana showering, it would go on forever.

You better not google image search on lana lang shower then

I agree, Lana should have told Clark what happened, but then the more I think about it she probably did the right thing, Lionel would have sent an army with all sorts of kyrptonite crap strapped to them. Still I don't expect this to slide forever, Lionel will get screwed over because of this at some point

Anyone who thinks Lana did the right thing is a naive 13 year-old girl.

Lionel may be a tycoon - but he's going to go after the son of a senator that also happens to have super powers? Give me a break.

But did you not here him say he would kill Clark?

He has the Kent's trust, right now atleast, and would probably use that to get to Clark with kryptonite and kill him, or atleast he thinks he killed him.

I think he'll end up taking Martha hostage or something to get to Clark and then try to take him out.

I have a feeling that Lionel may not make it out of this season alive and Clark will kill him, further distanting him and Lex, not that there is anything to further them from at the moment.
Its only Ashley from the WWE.
Ya, but I just don't find her too attractive when she's on WWE. She looks hot tonight. The scene with Lois helped a lot.

So this is the last episode for a while right?
So this is the last episode for a while right?
For three weeks. Then from there the next five weeks are the remaining episodes of the season. I really wish this season would NOT end. Its been fucking great.

Ya this season rocks. Even the filler episodes (like this one) are very enjoyable. Much better than the Witch crap from last season...

I'm definately enjoying Clark now. He looked like he actually enjoyed that fight. I hope we see more of this side of him.

Wasn't the Witch crap season 4? I don't remember what last years was, but I am pretty sure Jensen Ackles (Dean on Supernatural) was on the witch one.

haha you're right. I've watched every episode and how can I get that mixed up? I just looked it up on Kryptonsite and remember now. Oh well, Season 5 was much better than 4 (for me , season 4 was the lowpoint). If the trend continues with the show getting better, the 7th season will be amazing.

Its all good, I didn't watch much of last season, waiting to pick it up.
After next, supposedly.
If that is the case then they should end it next season. Since the Lex character has been one of the core characters of the show since day one I can't imagine the show without him.

people still watch this show? what season is this 6?

i used to love this show...but then it just got cheesey after the fortress of solitude episodes and the zod/brainiac episodes

Well, i guess i could clarify the the actor is leaving - they could replace him if they really wanted to.

How much longer can they continue Smallville in general however is the question? Yeah I love the show and a huge part of me wants to see it go on for a LONG time. But there's the part of me that doesn't want to see Smallville go down the road that, say, The X-Files did. In other words going on for TOO long and having major cast changes that by the time the show does end that you have moved on from watching it.

I feel that realistically the show should end next season. For the most part we've gotten exactly what we wanted out of Smallville. Now for the rest of this season along with season 7 its time to tie the loose ends together and bring the series to a close.

I agree. I also thought Lana might not even make it to the end of this season, but one article claims that both Lex and Lana will see their last seasons next year. So I guess Lana sticks around. Not sure how I feel about that.

Changing the person who plays Lex would be horrible. Michael Rosembaum is a great actor and is perfect for this part. They shouldn't drag the series out if he leaves. There are two core characters to me, Clark and Lex. Smallville needs them.

I hope when he leaves he films Sorority Boys 2.

Bumping this thread to let everyone know that the CW has pushed back the next new episode from 4/12 to 4/19 due to the Brick Awards... couldn't they put this dumb awards show on, say, Saturday night. I mean I doubt anyone gives two shits about it anyways but whatever.

Oh... My... fucking... GOD!!!!

That season ender was so fucking awesome.

Evil Clark at the end had me screaming. Lana being blown to bits had me screaming. God damn it... the next season can not come soon enough. Best season of Smallville... EVER! This makes me say... Lost WHAT? 24 WHO? TNA Impact WHY?

not to mention it's MUTHA fuckIN BIZARRO!

Lex becomes a well known insane criminal

We don't know if she really entered her car however. For all intent purposes she could of ran away quickly enough before the car blew up therefore making it look like she was killed. Makes perfect sense if you think about it.

FYI for those who somehow missed tonight's season cliffhanger the CW is going to rerun it Sunday May 27th at 8 PM EST/7 PM CST.
I kind of wish I didn't blow off this season. :(
Outside of one to two bad episodes its the best season of the series to date. Everyone on the show really took it to the next level and it shows.

Also the CW just issued a press release for the next season. Now while this press release may or may not indicate anything spoiler wise I feel its best that its treated as a spoiler since I noticed one particular cast member is completely missing from the cast listing.

Returning for its seventh season, this new interpretation of the enduring Superman mythology and its classic characters blends realism and adventure into an exciting action series. Fourteen years ago, a meteor shower burst from the heavens, raining destruction on the unsuspecting citizens of Smallville, Kansas. From the ashes of tragedy, emerged Clark Kent. Struggling to come to grips with his emerging superpowers, while battling the strange events that have plagued this idyllic Midwest hamlet since the meteor shower, Clark slowly learns to embrace his destiny. SMALLVILLE chronicles Clark's journey toward becoming the Man of Steel and his relationships with girl-next-door Lana Lang, future love Lois Lane and soon-to-be arch-nemesis Lex Luthor.

The series stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang, Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor, Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan, John Glover as Lionel Luther and Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen. Reinterpreting the Superman mythology from its roots, SMALLVILLE was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar ("Shanghai Noon," "Spiderman 2"), based on the DC Comics characters. Gough and Millar serve as executive producers, along with Ken Horton, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins, Joe Davola, Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson and Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions, Millar/Gough Ink and Warner Bros. Television. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster.

You notice that car that passed by right before the car went kaboom? Went right by Lionel. I bet next season she happened to jumped on that car and the explanation is "you don't life with a Luthor for xx months and not learn a few tricks" yadda yadda

:applause:

After all... Smallville wouldn't be the same without our favorite coffee serving babe. :bouncy:

Okay it just finished up here on the West Coast. Reeve's Dam looked a whole lot like the X-Men 2 Set. The specific room where the 2 Clarks (hasn't this happened like before) were fighting, really really reminded me of the room in X2 where Jean and Cyclops fought. I believe they do all the filming in Vancouver and the X-Mansion is the Luthor Mansion so thats why theories come from.

The episode was great. I hate how they try to tie up loose ends from 5 seasons in 2 minutes (I'm from a Planet called Krypton Lana!) but still satisfying. I wish Jackie Giles went green but him and Lionel fathering Clark was great. I loved when Clark asked him where he's been all these years and they used the Phantoms are why. Great writing there!

The very last minute was golden. "I'm you, just a little more... Bizzarre". I was cracking up when Clark gave a odd look to him. Bravo Smallville, Heroes has overthrown you but my Superman fanboyism keeps me coming back.

Excellent episode.... But I swear to God, Chloe had better not be dead. She's by far my favorite female on the show, both looks wise and character wise.

Agreed. I knew Lois couldn't die, and when I saw that cheesy white orb-drop, I knew it would end lamely.

Nonetheless, this episode reminded me why I watch(ed) this show.

You should keep watching. The last season or two is pretty much just fanservice now. Anyone I know who's watched the first couple seasons can't get back into it now.

For those curious on the HD-DVD release of Season 5....

Just finished watching the season 5 opener of "Smallville" on HD-DVD. A few observations:

- Video is VC-1 encoded at 1080p (obviously). Quality is top notch. Clarity and colors are much crisper and cleaner compared to the SD-DVD release. Compared to the HDTV broadcast from either the CW or back then the WB the biggest difference is I didn't see any noticeable compression (which I see a slight amount of on the HDTV broadcast).

- The best part is that the audio is Dolby Digital 5.1 Plus on the HD-DVD release instead of the Dolby Digital 2.0 mix that is on the SD-DVD. I noticed a lot more seperation of sound effects especially during the few action sequences during the episode. I suspect this is the MAIN reason why the HD-DVD release was not done the same day the SD-DVD release was. No other languages are offered on the disc. I did noticed subtitles are offered on the languages menu but I don't remember which languages are offered.

- Disc 1 starts off with an trailer promoting HD-DVD. A number of very recognizeable clips are used during it including The Matrix (which looks fantastic). After that trailer ends the disc jumps right into the first episode on the disc. Menus is easily accessable just like any other HD-DVD disc during the presentation. Nice simple and easy. Me like a lot.

Overall from the viewing of the opening episode its a very nice presentation that shines. For $80 its a bit hard to swallow. Right now Amazon has it on sale for $55 and there are some on the Amazon Marketplace for as low as $45ish. If I didn't already own this season on SD-DVD I would be all over this as the improvements in both picture and especially sound really make a difference.

Hopefully not just season 6 but all the other seasons will eventually get released like this on HD-DVD. I for one would certainly rebuy the entire series if Warner gives the exact same treatment as displayed with season 5.

Bumping the thread with the release date info on Season 6's standard def aka SD-DVD release being September 18th.

Also what character would you folks like to be used for the official Season 7 thread?

Hot DAMN that was an awesome finale. I didn't get to see it when it aired cause my friend wanted to watch it too and I had to tape it so we could watch it. But holy shit that was insane. I loved Bizarro showing up. I literally cheered when he went "I'm you, only a little more bizarre" and then when he became fucked up looking at the end. Plus knowing this show and "deaths" in season finales, Lana got kidnapped by the truck and Chloe will miraculously survive somehow. This was definitely one of the best seasons of Smallville. Only thing it could have used more of was Ollie. I really preferred the 33.1/Ollie storyline to the Phantom Zone/Zoners story. Hopefully Ollie will show up again next season. And I think we should use Ollie for next season's topic, even if it doesn't make sense!
