Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!
Obviously Washington is looking for a speed back. One he doesn't have now, and has no issue sacrificing his D-line for it but Douglass will probably be one of the best ends in the league. What are all the players potentials involved?
Washington has Sproles, certainly a speedy back.

I know Douglas is an A and both the rookies the Redskins are getting are B's, based on the gamefaqs list. Not sure on the veteran players.

Speaking of trades, from the "It's never too early to hit the panic button" department.

Chargers trading block:
Shaun Phillips - LOLB - 89
Luis Castillo - LE - 87
Stephen Cooper - MLB - 83
Shawne Merriman - ROLB - 82

Really none of my defensive players are untouchable.

Phillip Rivers - 94 - QB (Would take an amazing offer, probably not going to trade him unless I fall out of it)
Santana Moss - WR - 83 (96 speed, 99 kr)
Nick Hardwick - C - 85

Only untouchables on offense are Gates and maybe Jackson.

Want: Young, promising defensive backs (CBs or Safeties), DT, maybe a good RB or another fast WR, Picks (nothing lower than 2nd round)

Looks like everyone is a B besides the end rookie and Cooley, both As. With so much objection here I'm going to ask both teams to take it back to the drawing board. There's a lot I don't mind, but what seems to be the consensus and what I agree with is that even if that young, A potential end isn't being utilized somehow (he's still shedding or taking up blockers as your LBs to get through even if he's not getting sacks), he's still worth more than a mid 70s speed back when you already have a better version of him.

I tried to find logic in the deal. Found some, but the majority of my initial assessment didn't add up (ie needing a speed back).

--Miami, FL

Oakland Raiders (1-0) @ Miami Dolphins (1-0)

The highly anticipated rematch to last season's 35-31 shootout finally took place in week 2, but it was a far cry from how the first meeting went down.

In a torrential downpour, Oakland took on Miami hoping to stop their high powered offense.

Surprisingly, they did just that.

Oakland jumped out to a very quick 28-0 lead, thanks in part to two early interceptions. Miami struck back late in the 2nd quarter to make it 28-14, but that would be all they could muster on the scoreboard.

With Oakland's new running back by committee look, they were able to dominate on the ground with 212 yards rushing.

Campbell was 17 of 20 for 196 yds 2 TD

5 rushing touchdowns by 4 different players

Miami had 6 turnovers on the day.

Raiders 52 Dolphins 14

Some days my defense shows up (Although the rain probably helped quite a bit). I don't get it. They were definitely absent in week 1. I'm glad they decided to show up though. Didn't want to give up over 500 yards of total offense again.

Well, I guess that's that. We will have to see what we can rework.

seems we both had bad luck going this week bv;( i really like you....but i didn't want to be in the same boat together if it meant a humiliating loss like i just went through...

redygo, sorry about last night. I was finishing up a movie with my girlfriend when the power went out a little before 10, so I just said F it and went to bed.

Go figure that as soon as I woke up this morning, it went out for another 30 minutes.

In any case, I will send you a PM as well, but I can play anytime this morning/this afternoon up until about 3-3:30 PM Central Time.

I expect mega roid rage when he hears about this.

He's probably my least favorite NFL player, so I won't be too upset if he goes. Ironically, as an NFL fan I truly can't stand the Chargers and their constant whining and bitching.

Colts defeat Bucs, 24-20

After a horrendous showing in the first game of the season, Peyton Manning responded to critics with yet another 4th quarter comeback, in arguably one of his best games as of late. With :29 remaining in regulation, Manning connected with WR Austin Collie for what would be the go ahead touchdown and leaving it up to the Colts' defense to hold a very capable Buccaneers' offense for the last 25 seconds of the game. Buccaneers' QB Josh Freeman went to work and showed the world why the Bucs selected him in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, quickly launching a pass deep down the field and connecting. However, the lack of timeouts put the Bucs in hurry up mode. On the very next play, Freeman took a shot down field and narrowly missed the winning score with :02 remaining on the clock, as a Colts' defender rushed in and swatted it away at the last moment. Giving Freeman one more shot, he looked to the NFC's leading rusher -- HB Enrique Woods. Woods cut towards the middle of the field, catching a block, but inevitably was brought down by the Colts.

--

This was easily one of the most fun games I've played while in this league -- and not because I won, lol. This one could have gone either way, and I could have swore Freeman connected on that deep pass at the end, but I guess it was not to be. Not a lot of injuries, fumbles, or any BS calls happened, so it was kind of uneventful, but I had fun regardless.

Reggie Wayne apparently has greasy cement blocks for hands, as he had a couple passes right on him and they seemed to squirt out like crazy. Ugh, so frustrating.
Is eddie done with the league? He is my next opponent and I just noticed that he left.
Yeah. He just PMed me and told me he was done.

I think he only left so someone could play the CPU.

Edit: Or not.
Yeah. He just PMed me and told me he was done.
Damn. That's a good team too, if it was before the season I might have actually considered switching, I like the players they've got there.

Yup. School has finally forced me to really limit my time of playing video games. Its a shame though. A year ago, I'd have absolutely no problems with any of this, but now...

It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for all of the fun games guys.

I know how that is, I almost never had time for gaming when I was in school. Post-grad though, it's definitely a lot easier. :D

Well good luck in school man. I'm in my 3rd year and I'm wrapping up my GE courses. Luckily nothing too difficult that I've had to give up video games for.

Although a lot of these GE courses are just a regurgitation of high school and are gigantic waste of time/money.
Hey guys I would love to get involved in this online franchise. After searching around for a franchise that had an opening for the Chicago Bears I have given up.
Now that the Bears are open can I take them? I wanted them initially, but they were taken. I haven't played a game as the Jags yet, but had ours scheduled for tonight. I can still play for the Jags tonight since its scheduled....

I'm scheduled to play the Bears this week. What should I do? If I play the CPU I won't stat whore, I just want to get the game over with.

You can take them. I would suggest just taking them over now and setting up your game with Scotts (see above).

I'm considering ditching the whole subbing thing. What do you guys think? It's a good idea in theory, but it seems to be more of a pain then it's worth. There's no real fair way to say who gets matched up with who. And even for temp subs a likely win could turn quickly into a likely loss depending on who is subbing for who. I don't want to give any free wins out, but if we all agree to not stat whore then I really don't mind people just playing the CPU so we can move things along a little more smoothly. I feel like subs are bogging things down a bit.

I'm inclined to agree. I think it was a good idea (it was mine after all, wasn't it? :D) but there's an element of slowing us down definitely. Hopefully we can continue to work at getting those spots filled, but with only 2 or 3 open teams it's not going to have a gigantic impact on the league overall.

One alternative to consider would be if someone is interested in taking on a second team full time until we can find a replacement, as long as the two teams don't play each other obviously. I know I'd be willing, but I don't know if it would be considered a conflict of interest.

I would also be VERY willing.
I would also be VERY willing.
I'm sure plenty of people would be, which is probably why we can't do it, haha. :D

Agreed playing the cpu is fine. Destroying the cpu by a large margin and padding your stats will not help your chances in the award ceremony for those who care.
Eww..Broncos and Browns open. Oh well I'll sit back and cheer PacerPerspect and the Eagles on.
And the Rams, don't forget that!
Jags, Broncos, and Browns should be the open teams now, right?
Browns, Broncos and Rams.

Jags were filled. Rams just switched to the Bears.

So that means Seahawks are vs the CPU. Everyone else should have a h2h game.

No switching for me, I love my Rams.
Oops, my bad. Mixed those two up. You are correct.
What's your opinion on semi-permanent subs as an alternative to the weekly fill-ins until replacement players come around?

Im updating my players that are on the block, inbox me any offers

looking for WR and and Young RB

Clinton Portis 85
Larry Johnson 77
Chris Cooley 91
Shaynon Douglas 89
Oops, my bad. Mixed those two up. You are correct.

So MasterAwesome will be vs the CPU.
Lame...at least I will be able to set the "non-stat-padding" bar for everyone to aspire to.

Jonathan Stewart for Shaynon Douglas straight up?? Both are 89's with A potential...Stewart is 25 years old by the way.

I'm willing to play as the Jags again (something I failed at miserably in week 1, haha) if ubernes were to okay it, but that's up to him.

Personally, I'd totally be up for it myself. How do we decide who gets the 3 teams? Based on most active and willing?

That's what I'd say. I think I probably qualify under those criteria. :D
