I don't really mind people online going for it in those situations...it's just stupid on their part and usually results in an easy 7 points for me. Everything is pretty much tolerable for me except obviously when people nano-blitz constantly. And one thing that's really annoying but not an exploit by any means is when people NON-STOP try to strip the ball on every tackle. It's obvious when they're trying to do it...I mean, come on..really? Every single time? I know you usually break the tackle when they try to strip it, but just the idea of hitting the strip button on every tackle is beyond annoying. I only really ever do it when I'm down near the end of the game and I desperately need to force a turnover.
I developed a bad habit of using hit-stick on every tackle from all the previous Maddens, which I've gotten rid of for the most part, but I think stripping is a lot worse. Hit stick is similar in that it causes fumbles more often and players tend to break those tackles quite frequently, but it also serves a purpose in that, when it works, it stops the ball-carrier dead in his tracks and prevents any extra yards. So I still do it occasionally on a 3rd and short or 4th and short, and usually on kickoff returns which doesn't make sense...that's just old habits dying hard I guess :/ I don't think I've ever been able to get one off on a kickoff return anyways...they're so easy to avoid and your player looks like an idiot trying to ram into nothing 10 feet away from the returner.
I very rarely play online ranked matches, but I still do them every now and then usually to try out new plays from a playbook against an actual opponent or to try different positions on defense. Last night I actually attempted to user-control Chris Gamble against the Saints (usually Colston), which I didn't do too bad in...sometimes I'd pick a play where the safety would help in double-coverage against my man just in case I screwed something up. And when I do play, I just avoid people with insanely good records...not cause I'm scared of getting destroyed, but I'm a little skeptical that people can obtain those kinds of records legitimately (those are usually the nano-blitzers, etc.). I try to play people with good (not amazing) records.
