I really wish Ramesu wouldn't have canceled on me last night to play basketball, because now I'm not sure what we should do. The game dropped twice. The first time, it was tied, although I was outplaying him for the most part. I should have been up at least 21-7, so that drop hurt since my offense was actually flowing. I fumbled the ball about 6-7 yards from the end zone when it was tied 14-14, and then after narrowly missing a safety on Matt Schaub and a dropped interception by Morgan Burnett, Houston scored to go up 21-14. I tied it up after that, and then on his next possession, the game dropped. It said he quit the game. I am not accusing him; that's just the message that showed. It's happened the other way around to me before when I didn't quit, and I see no reason he'd quit in a tie game.

The second time featured a lot less offense, but he was up 17-10 late in the 2nd quarter when the game dropped. Not sure what it showed on his screen; I got the "Connection to your peer has been lost" message. I know there were server problems yesterday, but what about today? Ramesu said he hasn't had any connection problems all season, and I haven't either.

I've already explained over the last couple days that I needed to get the game finished by 8 Eastern tonight, so ubernes... any suggestions? I'm already late and I definitely don't want to play a third game and have it drop again.

EDIT: I went back upstairs and he sent me a voice message saying the first game showed a dropepd connection message for him, and the second game gave him the option to quit and not count the game. Basically, it was the reverse of what I got. EA Sports servers suck.

The first game said connection to my peer was lost the second just gave me the option to quit and not count the game after a freeze of about 30 seconds. Both games were competitive but I was on the verge of taking serious control of both. I was inside the 10 in a tied game inside of a min in the 2nd and I would've gotten the ball at half. The second game I was up a TD and driving again inside of a min before half.

I guess if you can't play any other time tonight or tomorrow we can try to play before the superbowl on sunday (the game isn't until 6 est)
 
I edited the post to mention what you said in the voice message. I guess you were posting while I did that. The second game, you had a shot at taking control, but as I said about the first game, that fumble cost me a touchdown, then I whiffed on a tackle that would have been a safety, and I dropped what should have been an easy pick on a drive that you scored on a couple plays later.

I know you've got that Black Mamba side in you that Kobe has about being competitive and I respect that. I knew you'd state your case about how the games were going, so I said mine. But I guess if we can play Sunday, that could work. Both games were very fun and competitive, and I think we match up well.

I agree, how does 3 est Noon pst work for you on Sunday or earlier. I have fooball practice @ 645 am est so I'll be up and at em early sunday more than willing to play as soon as I get back (around 10 am est)
 
Noon Pacific should work. I will be out late Saturday and I usually wake up around 10-10:30 A.M. Pacific on weekends, so I don't want to commit to anything earlier than noon Pacific/3 Eastern.

4pm est is the cut off. That way if people wanted to get in a game right then before they have to leave for Super Bowl parties than they could. I wanted it to be noon EST, but Matt's on the west coast and they obviously tried to play it today so I have no issue with waiting on that.

edit: whoa whoa WHOA. I don't know what day of the week it is! wow. moving on... cut off is 4pm est tomorrow, as in Saturday.

edit2: now I know why I thought today was Saturday, because Rames/Matt are talking about skipping tomorrow all together and holding us up until Sunday afternoon? I dunno about that, guys. like I said above, I understand if you couldn't finish it up tonight and we wait up for you guys in the late afternoon or even evening tomorrow, but a whole extra day? there's no way you can squeeze it in Saturday?
 
now that I got that sorted out the deadline doesn't need to be 4pm EST Saturday. it can be anytime really Saturday, but we can't wait for Sunday when it's only 1 game. I believe there's only 3 left to be played and the Eagles-Skins game is being played early tomorrow and the other one I have faith in that they'll get it done tonight/tomorrow.
 
I'd be available anytime tomorrow but it seems that matt won't be available at all...I'm in a pretty nice battle for a bye so I'd hate to end up taking a sim loss

If Matt really can't play tomorrow then we'll find a sub with an equivalent record. He is still fighting for a playoff spot (nevermind a bye) so it's pretty important to him too, if not more so. BV, Lexxon, redygo, augmog all have similar records. Matt can pick who he wants if he can't make it.

I figured this would be appreciated by at least one person in here and I've been dying to take a photo (even this crappy one) and show this off.

Two limited edition prints by the same artist (Tyler Stout). This shot does neither of them any real justice, but here's some links to the Empire and Iron Man prints. ANYWAYS, enough of my off-topic show and tell. I'm just super hyped about them. I'm looking forward to snagging a 3rd Stout piece one day and putting them all on a bigger wall space in my place, but this is essentially the start of my eventual man-cave collection.

I stated that at least a couple times, if not several, in the threads and in PM's. Ramesu suggested playing Thursday night- his idea- but then decided to go play basketball. Like I said, I didn't hold that against him, but there's no way it would be fair to have him play a sub. The reason we had to play Friday was because he canceled Thursday. I was available, and he chose to go play basketball with Cru instead of playing at the time he suggested. I shouldn't be punished for that. That's ridiculous and unacceptable. If he wants to play Saturday, I'll probably be home around 10:00-10:15 P.M. Pacific. Had he not bailed on Thursday, we could have tried replaying it on Friday instead of trying for the first time.

EDIT: Just to clarify before anyone possibly gets the wrong idea, I'm not saying the suggested replacements are not capable or that I am better than they are at this game. Overall, I'm pretty sure each of them has a better cumulative record than I do. My stance does not have anything to do with them or their skill levels. And to uber, Ramesu, and anyone else- since I know there have been problems in the past involving me- do not take this personally. I feel very strongly about this and am 100% firm on it, but regardless of the outcome, this will not turn into a situation like we had in season 1, no personal attacks (for lack of a more fitting, less serious sounding term) will be made on my part, and I hope we can come to a satisfactory resolution.

Did anyone else get in on the EA Flash Deal for FIFA 11 last night (or have it already)? I wouldn't mind getting some games in once I've shaken off my FIFA rust.

I agree 100% here. I really don't mind when someone puts their person life ahead of this league (in fact, that's preferred, it's just a Madden league), but if you're going to blow off a scheduled time to play then you definitely better be ready to go the extra mile to make up for it.

Ramesu, can you play tonight at 10pm PST? If not, the fairest option may be to sim it once the other games are finished. Since Matt is available tonight I do not think I want to wait until the proposed time tomorrow.

Re Thursday: I didn't think that 7 est would be the only time that he could play on Thursday and I said that I'd be home after 9 and would be willing to play from then on. I guess that was overlooked, no big deal.

We'll advance at 2am EST tonight. I should still be up. Not sure what condition I'll be in so no one ask to play me then!

I was available earlier than that, but you did not say you were able to play from 9 on. You gave me a specific 1 hour window of "between 9-10 Eastern". I was also available earlier yesterday:

Thank you, uber, for not getting pissed off. Like I said, I know I made mistakes in how I handled things and talked to people in the past. I tried to convey that I wasn't trying to cause conflict or go that route this time, but something gets lost in translation, it seems, when I type out my thoughts. People who have spoken to me on the headset can attest to the fact that I'm a much more pleasant person in verbal conversation and easy to talk to. Somehow, no matter how many words I use, my good intentions don't come out in text and I can sound like a dick.

Despite the scheduling issues from Thursday, out of respect for uber and everyone and the fact that I do not want to hold up the league, I tried to rearrange my schedule as best I could to attempt to get the game in earlier today. My landlord is here working on fixing the garage door and some other things, but after that's done I will be heading out to take care of the things I need to do before going out for the remainder of the evening. I can't give a specific time, but I'm thinking I can probably fit in a game around 5-5:30 P.M. Eastern if Ramesu can be around. Otherwise, the aforementioned time tonight will have to do. I'll probably be dead tired by the time I get home tonight, anyway, so if we can get it in earlier and manage to complete the game, that would benefit everyone. If it drops, though, I dunno.

Well, that sucks. I definitely didn't expect this either, but it is what it is. At least me not being available most of today doesn't make a difference since you wouldn't have been, either.

I said between 1-1:15 Eastern, so don't worry if I'm not on exactly at 1 A.M. your time. The hockey game I'm going to (last event of the evening) starts at 7 Pacific/10 Eastern. If it doesn't go to overtime, it should end around 12:30-12:45 Eastern, and it takes about a half hour to get back home after that. I just hope it doesn't disconnect us again. Maybe the third time will be the charm. I just hope the game is as competitive as takes 1 and , but I'll be playing with a severe handicap since I'm running on little sleep and my ADD medication will have worn off by then.

Even though I can't do anything about it, I really am sorry to anyone who may have been hoping to get their next week's game in today.

The hockey game didn't even go to overtime, but it lasted a little over 3 hours. I quite literally just walked in the door. Ramesu, are you around?
 
Raiders supersim their way to an important win. 45-28. My defense was getting blown by every timed I simmed. Played almost the whole 4th quarter and put a stop to the madness. Looking forward to the Chiefs game next week.
 
That game was mind-numbing. After 2 drops when I was playing well and we had close, competitive games, I had to sleepwalk through a game in which I attempted to defend variations of the same few offensive sets and manual pre-snap player movements. I'm glad that, after I attempted to rearrange my schedule for earlier Saturday and let it slide when the time my opponent suggested was blown off to go play pickup basketball, I stayed up for this. It was a learning experience. If I ever feel the need to learn more of that sort of stuff, I'll always have the option to play ranked games against people from GameFAQs.

This game dropped, too. I thought the game only allowed someone to count it if the other person quit, but nope- I was (and probably still am; didn't turn off my Xbox when I came downstairs to eat) still in the game when it was counted as a loss. Ubernes okayed it, and I understand that he had to move things along and neither he nor any of you should have had to wait any longer, so no complaints or hard feelings there whatsoever. I was just surprised that the option to count was presented in that scenario (not talking about the score, but the way it dropped compared to the other times), but that can be attributed to my lack of knowledge and experience in situations like that.

Sorry again for the fact that our game held things up, regardless of the reasons. On to the next one... St. Louis Rams/xxballhawkxx20, can you play anytime on Monday? I've asked BigAT about scheduling a game for the other league on that day as well, but there should be no problem scheduling both in if that's what works for you guys.

lol they played that last night in the club Cru, I don't even go out to clubs at all anymore (old man here) but last night was like a presuper bowl party
