Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

my sound keeps cutting out every now and then when playing on my new slim :cry: whyyyyy? anyone ever have this problem? my HDMI cable is pretty cheap (Amazon brand), so that's all I can think of.
 
I don't know much about those things, but that could be the issue. I bought a cheap HDMI cable from monoprice.com for my PS3 and the sound and picture will occasionally cut out.
 
I've never had that problem...I've had the slim for months now. I have an HDMI cable too, I think it's the official one but I'm not sure...got it used at Gamestop!
 
I use the HDMI cable to hook up my laptop to the tv and I've never had sound issues before, so it would be weird if that was it. Though I'd rather that be the problem than the Slim. From most of my googling it looks like the cable is the problem. I suppose I could play a game with the component cables (yuck) and see how the sound goes.

Ubernes contacted me straight away and I guess I'm in. I just went with the Seahawks because they are a somewhat familiar team and hey I like a challenge. I'm a diehard Packer fan so it's tough to play as anyone besides them but I'll make do.

Played my first game a little while ago against the dolphins/siradam. I managed to prevent the game from becoming a complete blowout but couldn't do a bloody thing to stop his offense. My offense was definitely clicking as well but I just couldn't catch up. Final score was 63-49 if I recall correctly. This game was actually the first time I've played Madden 11 online and much like with past entries the netcode could be a lot better but it'll have to do. Looking forward to playing more games though as playing real people is always far more challenging and engaging then the a.i.

Sorry uber, but I mixed up my opponents for the 2 leagues when I conveyed my situation earlier. I wouldn't have even realized it had bvharris not said something. Packers/Texans is set for 7 P.M. Eastern tomorrow.

EDIT: How many Packers fans do we have? I've been a fan since I started watching football; gbpackers(numbers) ' name speaks for itself; theredworm is from Wisconsin; Doom, I'm not sure if he's a fan or if he just likes playing as Green Bay in Madden.

Definitely a fan. Jumped on their bandwagon in 1996 and never jumped off. I was living in Japan so I didn't really have an affiliation with any team. Plus I was just a young lad at the time.

EDIT: Madden Bowl XVII is on ESPN 3 for anyone who cares. I'm taking notes!
 
Bucs 49 - Chargers 39

Just one of those games where I throw way too many dumb picks with Rivers and can't recover. Pretty much the exact opposite of the game I played with gb last week. redygo is a damned good player, I have no idea how he doesn't have a better record, this game gave me fits.

Rivers had an awesome game for the most part, going 30-44 and throwing for almost 500 yards with 5 TDs, but the 3 picks were deadly, with two of them going for six and the other going almost all the way back. This one got away from me pretty fast. I'd forced a fumble up 14-7 with the chance to drive and go up 21-7 but then Rivers threw the first pick six and it was off to the races from there.

gg redygo! Nothing to complain about here, I made a few two many bad throws and you were always in a position to make me pay, you're deadly in coverage with that safety. I hope we get a chance to meet again in the future, maybe I'll be a bit less cavalier with the football. ;)
 
I forgot Steggy had joined this league. My mistake. I became a fan in 1995. Before that, I only watched the Super Bowl and didn't even really understand the game of football. Since I was in my rebellious preteen stage, I went against my Chicago Bears fan friends and supported Green bay. I also really liked Brett Favre, and I hated the Cowboys from watching them in Super Bowls. Green Bay's loss to Dallas in the 1995 NFC Championship game cemented my Packer fandom.

I think the Green Bay fans slightly outnumber the Pats fans (me, venom, darth, silentghost before he left, a few others I'm forgetting) in this league, but those two fanbases definitely outnumber all the others by a significant margin. I know we have a few Ravens and Panthers fans too. Though amazingly given the large group who live in the DC area, I'm not sure we have a single Redskins fans.. Actually, maybe that's not so surprising. :D

moved to Wisconsin 4 years ago and was never a Colts fan when I lived in Indiana and the Packer fans were just too awesome when I moved here, also the perfect draft pick when Brian Brohm was picked by the Packers the year I moved here (even if he's gone now)

edit: the gf got me my valentines day present early, anyone that has played me in league 2 knows I love the Packer dot throwbacks from this year

I hope you don't take this as an insult, redworm, because I am including myself in this: it's kind of funny to see your pic after hearing your voice on XBL, because you and I are possibly the 2 nerdiest looking, palest white guys in this league, yet we both have strong, deep voices that one would expect to hear from some huge, jacked bodybuilder type of guy.
 
Saints owner trust me I feel ur pain the panthers put a ass whippin on me also but not only could my guys not get open but beason made them fumble if the caught it or picked it off.... I think I had 15 turnovers.... if it wasn't for my defense I would have scored 0 but by far the worst ass whippin I've received in this league.... uber got me once and doomtime also whipped me pretty good one game

uber...did you see the post from cool_iam...he wants to join as the jags. He's my cousin, I personally vouch for him as a viable potential member of the league.
