Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

We had some bullshit plays that got u the win in our game duece.. I've never seen a returner fumble and a linebacker on the same team pick it up and run for a td outrunning my fastest player jamal charles for a 70 yard return lol....

lmao... u will not get any argument from me on that one. Tavares Gooden is fast, but he's not that fast. I will say that me winning wasnt based on BS plays cuz I had to conjure up a gameplan to control your offense without Ray Lewis on the field, and i needed to figure out a way to run the ball without Ray Rice... if there's any one indictment on why u lost, it would be your secondary being subpar. Ur good covering ground with ur safeties but i play the same way on D so i know how to stay away from the middle of the field. I also picked up on a lot of your formations and where u liked to go with the ball when throwing out of those formations. I dont recall you implementing much of a running game and for just about every game that i've lost in the few season we've played, my opponent's running game was more or less the deciding factor. I dont know if you noticed, but my Ravens are(were) ranked #1 against the pass and we were #2 last year.
 
Wow lol...so now the "Invite to Game", "Invite to Party", "Invite to Private Chat", "Invite to Video Kinect", and "Send Message" options are all freaking greyed out, meaning I can't even select them PERIOD. I don't know wtf is happening...maybe Microsoft put some kind of a ban on my account for something that I'm sure I never did? Doomtime must be behind this somehow!

I'm gonna call the Xbox 360 number and see what's up...this is an outrage!
 
Nooo STUPID...I'm set til like February 2012....but now that you mention it, my subscription WAS supposed to run out sometime this month (I don't know the exact date), but I purchased another year via the dashboard so it should automatically tack on right?

Oh plus it says "Signed In Xbox Live Gold" anyways...so you are so stupid Doom!

Why does rain only affect my team? Clausen slipped 3 times after the snap (2 of them resulting in sacks), I had at least 3 receivers slip during their routes....I don't think BV had any players slip whatsoever (correct me if I'm wrong). It's always the freaking player I'm trying to pass it to too lol. And 3 WIDE OPEN drops....I'm not talking catch the ball and get hit drops, I mean on the rare plays when my receivers got separation they'd just straight up drop the ball. Edwards' drop was on like a 45 yard deep pass, Nash's drop was on a 20ish yard pass that woulda been a TD.

And Ryan Matthews...jesus lol. BV I seriously blitzed the inside on 90% of your run plays and Ryan Matthews would have wide open holes for like 20+ yards lol. They were all runs practically straight through the middle too. Your offensive linemen must have insane run-block stats.....so frustrating. And my rush defense is like 5th in the league or something...Chargers rushing is 20th or something. That should NOT have been that easy...

On to our individual performances:
BV played really good, I threw 4 stupid interceptions (1 was off a horrible pass but it was pretty deep so I probably should have just refrained from throwing it) ....that's about all I have to say about that. I had one chance at a pick with Beason but he dropped it :( But I can't really complain about a player dropping an interception...that happens 14 times a game on both sides. But when Beason drops picks I get extra sad.

And my 1 highlight....Jonathan Stewart had an amazing touchdown catch lol. I wish I knew how to upload things on here....but I'm pretty sure BV kept trying to strip it so it resulted in like 8 broken tackles. What should have been a MAYBE 2 yard reception (probably should have actually been picked off) resulted in an almost 50 yard TD.

So I know BV always hates when people play the "Madden screwed me over" card cause it kinda detracts from his victory, but I'm explicitly saying he outplayed me anyways. It was just one of those stupid games where 95% of this crap happened in the first half or else I might have been able to tie the game or even perhaps take the lead which would have allowed me to choose my plays differently. I was playing from behind the whole game so I only rushed like 3 times or something. Yeah I threw all these stupid passes that got picked off...but if I was able to score a TD on one of those dropped passes or whatever, I woulda had a little more breathing room to run the ball more.

That is all...............good game sir.....
 
Its funny to join a league set up as well as this one and see so many people complain and talk about quiting the league after a loss.... I love madden but madden pisses me off sometimes to....... some things that happen are rediculous and u can't do anything about... I sit the remote down and can't wait to get a game in the next day to try making up for it..... I don't know any of u guys so I don't mean to be disrespectful but this is by far the best league I've ever played in and to quit because of a loss sounds dumb to me..... the dolphins owner ur number one in the league passing who I play every game tryin to keep up with stats wise..... ur obviously pretty damn good.... so u get owned one game it ain't that big of a deal....... I've taken my beatings.. if the nfl teams just up and quit after a blow out there would b no madden...... play the game enjoy the league don't just quit it cause of a loss or losing season.... best part is making ur team better that's the point of taking over a team to make them better..... its all in fun to me I just love madden but over the past couple weeks so many people are talking about quitting over a loss and it will affect the league... id like to play every season we can till 12 comes out just to see how my team progresses

The only drop I specifically remember was the Nash one at the goal line, but it's not like that was an easy catch or anything. He was double-covered (as he was all game) and tried to shake the coverage and make a one-handed catch in the pouring rain, not exactly an easy feat. I'm not sure why you remember him as wide open on that one, I had someone shadowing him all game. I don't remember the other two, as you said your guys had a pretty hard time getting open (as did mine for that matter).

The rain definitely contributed to some of the turnovers, though as you pointed out you made some pretty risky throws (I made a dumb one myself). I definitely had a couple guys fall down too, including on defense, it was just one of those games I guess. Both Rivers and Clausen seemed to have a rough time in the pocket, I think they were sacked like 3 times each.

It's funny you mentioned before we played that Shaun Phillips was back, since he played such a phenomenal game. I think he was on Nash the whole game except for a few plays and he mostly played him like white on rice, getting 2 of the 4 picks. My D was pretty great in general, except for the Stewart catch which as you pointed out I was going for the strip on the first 2 tackles at least (why not in the rain?)

As for Mathews.. Yeah, dude had an amazing game. Your suspicion is correct, I have a pretty stellar offensive line (Lowest is an 83, but he's an A pot). Moreover when I commit to the run I tend to do pretty well with it, as I did in this game. Just seemed like one of those days where I needed to adjust and run more, and it worked out well.

It was definitely a good game, I look forward to our next one. ;)

I saw you keep popping on and offline and was wondering what was going on.

Uber, Dollhouse was really good. I watched it as it aired. That show was a victim of the Fox curse and the Joss Whedon curse in tandem. Speaking of Fox, if they cancel Fringe, I will be very unhappy. Thankfully, I've not heard any such rumors, but I was concerned after they moved it to Fridays.

Regarding Reggie Miller, I don't like him either, but I never really developed any strong dislike for him since the Bulls beat the Pacers more often than not.

Wow that is EXACTLY how I feel...basically word for word. I do my share of post-game "F@#% you Madden!!" rants after the occasional (SUPER RARE!!) loss of mine, but yeah like Sprice said....immediately after the game is over, I can't wait til the next game. I would never quit the league no matter how frustrating a game is. Before Madden '11 came out, a couple people said something along the lines of "I'm only buying this game because of this CAG league" which I thought was a little crazy...buying a $60ish game because of one league. But now that is 100% how I feel. If enough people drop and we end up disbanding the league, I'd go the next day and return Madden. Most of my enjoyment comes from trying to better my team...from trading, progressing in the off-season, and drafting new rookies. Well said sprice...
 
I love Reggie Miller, just watched his 30 for 30 the other day about his battles with the Knicks and it takes me back. I hate that pro ball now doesn't compare to those days for me.

siradam - I really hope you're not seriously considering leaving, I'm sure you're not since I know you love it too.

My unsolicited advice: You could be a great player in both leagues if you learned to run the ball a bit. If you made people respect the threat of a run even a little you'd throw a lot fewer picks since you wouldn't be facing so many straight up pass defenses - I know for a fact that's how I play you on every down. ;)
 
Yeah lol I went back and watched the replay...it was indeed a 1-hander but he had gotten separation at the end. I guess WIDE open is a little misleading...but definitely EASILY catchable. I've never seen any player drop a 1-handed catch before...I don't think those are harder than regular catches in Madden. I think its just your spectacular catch rating - you either 1-hand catch it (if you have a high spectacular catch rating) or you just let the ball fly by you. Obviously I don't know the deal for sure...just hypothesizing! If anyone has dropped a 1-handed catch before please don't hesitate to call me out...I've just never personally seen it.

And LaFell dropped like a measley 10-yarder or something...but that Edwards drop hurt :(

Lol I wish I had the awareness to see your defenders slip so I could actually get some completions...I believe you 100% but I never saw any slippage going on, my passing game was horrible. Shaun Phillips was unreal...he's pretty darn fast too. Nash has never had trouble getting separation from a defender (he's usually the only player I can consistently rely on getting open), but Phillips vs. Nash was a tough matchup for me.

Definitely looking forward to a rematch...rainy games are so stupid, they almost never go smoothly. Hopefully the rematch is in San Diego.....

Not that I'm a huge basketball fan but Reggie Miller is just one of my all time favorite athletes in general. Watching him play was just a pleasure. Some of his scoring runs are just beyond measure.

Also Uberness do you have an answer for me in regards to my game against the Vikings?

Bucs pull the upset over the Broncos in what was mostly a defensive battle except for a few big plays. Enrique woods came up big for the Bucs with 41 yards rushing and 116 receiving. Tebow was running wild on the ground but was held mostly in check in the passing game. Thanks for waiting mog, it was a good game.

The scariest part of the game was being up 14 pts with 3:20 left in the game. After what happened last week and a 40 yard TD from Tebow to Decker I was seeing Dejavu.

Bucs looking to finish the season 500. I agree with sprice about madden. It's not perfect but I'll continue playing because I'm in a competitive league with good people.
 
Also looking at the NFC playoff race. Is it possible that I could make the play offs with an 8-8 record. What are the tie breakers?
 
I'm having problems with my damn Xbox, but I haven't received a response from my opponent yet, so nothing needs to be rescheduled at this time. Maybe my 4+ year old system is finally crapping out on me. :whistle2:\ It has red ringed twice, but the last time was nearly 3 years ago.

Can't do it today(first time snowboarding), so if it needs to be played today, then someone else can do it. But my weekend is wide open if my legs aren't broken.
 
A brightside to an otherwise mediocre season for the Chargers: I finally have a 1000 yard rusher. Mathews has definitely taken a third year leap, averaging 6 yards per carry on the nose with 12 TDs. Seems like the improved offensive line was one thing that turned out quite well among my off-season moves.

After 4 pm on Saturday or Sunday will work just fine with me.
 
I didn't see wat happened I was just saying id be going for the first rd pick to.... but ballhawk is my friend so if he did something stupid or wrong let me know so I cqan tell him not to do it again..... I had several experiences where people wanted me booted so id like to try avoiding that situation for him
 
That's strange. I didn't have any problems when I played Ballhawk, and we played a good, fun game which went to overtime. He played a fair game and was friendly in his messages pre- and post-game. Obviously, that play in the video was a different matter altogether, but my experience with the guy was a positive one.

I haven't heard back from the Titans/CustersLastand. I'm going to a hockey game tonight and then I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow around 4 P.M. Eastern (if they're on schedule) followed by another game (Luc Robitaille bobblehead night!) in the evening. It's nothing like last weekend where I was busy pretty much the whole time, but that's my situation at the moment.

I'm gonna be honest if it was my team and I started out 0 and 12 id want to get first pick to.... so I see where he was coming from but a play like that is rediculous and I told him that and he knows it and it won't happen again... he said red worm wasn't playing the game real either I dunno for sure but if red worm was doing anything similar we wouldn't know but to call out someone if ur doing it to is shady..... he knows not to do anything like that again... sorry for the problam uber he's a good player and reliable so hopefully we will have no more issues.
 
my bad uber for doing that it was a mistake an i am tanking for the 1st pick but i should of just joined when the season end ill play forreal from here on out an imma be in the playoffs next year baby...

and redworm my bad for doing tht but u was tryin to lose also u were runnin away from my quaterback to avoid sackin him an u left time on the clock when u were attemptin the field goal an it wasnt lag u meant to miss.. but dnt worry next everything will be straight up..
 
it locked up on me and I missed that fg (I had several times during the game where it kinda froze and then the game started going again, servers last night were garbage or we had a bad connection), can you say the same about the two chip shot fgs you missed? I saw what you were doing at the end and didn't want it to end that way.

but whatever, I just want it to be next season to see how my olb Mario Moss progress's, I may not put up crazy numbers with him but I love playing as him
