Sorry uber, I never like to win a game off of fumbles. Yeah you drove down the field pretty well throughout most of the game...Kilgo tore me up too, especially in the 2nd half. I was excited to see that your team was ranked 28th or something against the run, so I came out running more than I normally do...but that didn't work out so well :/ Man your o-line seemed to be getting abused the entire game, mostly by Julius Peppers...he had 2 sacks but I counted at least 3 or 4 more hits on the QB as you released the ball. I'm glad Sanchez is okay lol, your back-up QB seemed decent for the most part but there were a couple terrible throws in the mix...! I'm a lot more glad that Jimmy Smith is okay, he had 2 picks before he bruised his darn sternum in the 2nd quarter. I assigned him to Santonio in the beginning, but I definitely coulda used him matched up against freaking Kilgo in the 2nd half!

I'm glad I could stop the wildcat for the most part this time around...I actually put Ray Lewis at OLB and usered Quan Sturdivant for the first time this franchise cause I figured I'd need Lewis and his 99 play recognition purely against the wildcat. I feel like no one on my team could recognize that you were running wildcat despite the obvious formation (in game 1)...this time I think I stopped you in the backfield every time except for a couple pretty big runs.
I seem to have o-line issues in both leagues. I don't think I hold onto the ball too long and typically I can recognize the blitz pretty quickly and find a wide open check down receiver but I seemed to be getting hit before I could get it out every other play.

By the time the 2nd half rolled around and I was down by 24 or 34, whatever it was, I was just like to run out the shotgun, which wasn't too bad. Kilgo got open on a couple plays and then I just started force feeding him. I figured I could at least pad some stats!

Yeah, I saw the holes in the wildcat but I just couldn't get to them or around the pile besides on a run or 2. I added a new wrinkle with Kilgo as my guy versus Kerley, but even with his speed he couldn't break free.
Well if you do want to start tanking for that high draft pick, feel free to do it next week. ;).
If you beat me 48-0, let's just say I tanked for the high draft pick, k? Haha.
Cheers for a misread. yeah i'm fucking pissed. but i've not once said "Bv's a fucking asshole and took advantage of the sub chance to kick my ass"

so back off, please. Cobra has had my number everytime we've played, so i expect to lose.

I had someplace to go. I chose the first sub i saw online. yeah, my choice. then when i considered having the game simmed, i continued to play, even though i was down 41-7. once again. ALL MY CHOICES. i'm not here bitching about it. just venting my frustrations about my situation in the league. if i can't vent in this forum, should i go elsewhere? Perhaps for good?
I don't care if you vent. I'm not misreading anything, I don't think you're calling me an asshole, but you could have responded to any one of my PMs during the game where it was clear I felt terrible about what was happening. I still feel terrible about it, in hindsight I obviously never should have subbed and put either of us in that situation. By basically blowing me off (late or not) you let me spend the evening feeling like I somehow fucked you over. So maybe that makes us even.

I understand you're frustrated about your position in the league, nobody likes losing 4 straight, hell I don't like being 3-4 either. The fact is that all three of us suck ass this year, you both still have the tiebreaker on me, so I'm in just as dire a situation.

I just don't understand getting bent out of shape out of it. No one else is getting out of the AFC besides Doom anyway.

Oh and MasterAwesome, I do think there was some sweet Madden karma coming my way after almost running exclusively wildcat to beat you last time. I almost deserved those fumbles... maybe not that many though haha.
Which team do you think is running away with this division? ;)

It's the Division of Gloom over here.
To reply to this again: Might be the new Bills with the way we are all playing.

By basically blowing me off (late or not)

I sent you a message making you commissioner and shut the xbox off and walked out the door.... did it need to include a "holy shit man, you kicked my ass, gg" message to make you feel better? (didn't even possibly think that would make you feel bad....tbh) I don't understand what the problem there is.... you kicked my ass, madden played it's trump card very early in the game. It is what it is.

The graduation dinner/party i'm at now is where i had to go.

I was moreso bent out of shape because the dude who CANCELLED on me last night (due to his wife being sick) completely didnt even fucking bother showing up tonight when we agreed upon a set time. Then ignores all forms of communication about it. So i went from playing a 1-6 team to playing someone i didn't want to show any of my gameplan to. Threw me off from the get-go. But the league needed to advance. so i went with it in the better interest of the league. myself be damned. lol.
No one else is getting out of the AFC besides Doom anyway.
So, then why are we bothering playing? The 3 of us should quit. With you two gone doom can be the commisssioner of his own superbowl dynasty.
So, then why are we bothering playing? The 3 of us should quit.
I play because I enjoy the game. I never come into the season with any reasonable expectation of winning the Super Bowl.

I have no interest in quitting. I get as frustrated as the next guy by losing, but I'm used to it. Playing the game and managing a team is fun enough for me, I don't need to win the league.

There is something to say about playing the game for fun, even if you constantly lose. I am doing HORRIBLY with this years Madden. I mean - I straight up can't get a win lately, but i still find enjoyment in playing the game.

So should we be finding a new owner for the Broncos? It seems like venom has become pretty unreliable, I don't know if we should continue to drag him along, or if he even still wants to be in the league.

My last two games against Denver have been sub games vs fero. Seems like he hasn't been around in a while.
My last two games against Denver have been sub games vs fero. Seems like he hasn't been around in a while.
Seems like he's been subbed for more often than he's actually played.

I'd rather give the team to someone who's interested in playing. I'll shoot venom a PM tomorrow and see what his deal is.

I can agree with this. And as BV said it's really hard to get too bent out of shape when winning it all is going to be tough. I like to have my 10 minutes of post-game ranting (whether it's public in the forum or just me ranting to myself) and then I'm back to looking forward to my next game. The only thing that truly frustrates me are things that seem out of my control in the game (fumbles, bad CPU D, and the silly INTs). Losing doesn't frustrate me, but losing because of those things which is nearly 99% of the time for me lately in all these blowouts, is tough to swallow sometimes.

I get frustrated as well, but I keep it to myself. I am having a hard time winning lately in any of my leagues, lol. I remember doing a decent job last year - a lot better than this year. Oh well.. I will keep chugging along!

Aftershock was really pushing hard for them over the Bills, but took Buffalo once they became available. This doesn't solve any of our problems as we'd still have an open team but I told him he could have the option to switch if he didn't make any roster moves/it was between seasons or early in his time.

Sure, he can switch if he wants. The Broncos are a MASH unit though, so he might want to check that out before he swaps. Lloyd is out 8 more weeks, Royal is out for the season, and DJ Williams went down as well.
i feel ur frustrations i dont know if i should blame my team or what.
This league is tough as balls. It takes a while for most new people to be competitive. You've got the right attitude in not getting frustrated though.

I've said it before, the GM aspects of this league are way more fun for me than the actual games. :D

well i know one thing i hang with static any day of the week in this game but hes seems to being doing pretty good in this league but im getting bent over hard and worse part is my last two games i started off with a 10 nothing lead and seem to blow it quick everytime i think i just need to stop being dumb on offense turnovers kill me everytime but i cant lie ive learned a ton from this league so far and i rape everyone in that jv league so atleast i get to enjoy winning from that league and get that sweet ass rape over here lol
i think i just need to stop being dumb on offense turnovers kill me everytime
People act like Doom has some special winning potion, but I think he'd agree his biggest asset (more than any play he calls) is that he doesn't make nearly as many mistakes as most of us do. It's not an accident that the best teams in this league are tops in turnover differential, and Doom is pretty much at the top of that list every season.

True that. I'm no madden nation player. I take care of the football but I'm beatable.
PS: I still haven't purchased speakers but after testing the Sony I was looking at in Best Buy today I quickly turned the other way (yikes!). Listened to this Yamaha and I think I'm in love. A little higher than what I want, but hopefully it's something I can use for a while and upgrade along the way.

I've been looking at upgrading the whole living room (lol DVO knows my pain) but surround sound is going to be tough. We've got hardwoods and absolutely no where to go with wires. I'm probably going to have to settle on a soundbar

Wireless!

I've learned it's usually better to just willingly take the sack instead of trying to throw the ball away if you're about to get hit...I think that's where your fumbles came into play. I still don't do that myself...but I've noticed a lot of times if you try to throw the ball at the last second to avoid taking the sack, it results in a fumble...I'd say maybe half the time? It's hard to consciously just sit there and take the sack though lol, I know your instincts tell you to get rid of the ball to save some yards...I gotta learn some discipline in this game.

Thanks for getting our game in tonight boss sir, I will be very relaxed on my vacation now with that victory :O) Just a reminder...I'll be back home the night of the 23rd (Friday). I should get home at a reasonable enough time to get a game in that night if we happen to be advancing that day or something. I think my flight is scheduled to get back around 5 p.m. EST or so...don't quote me on that though.

A couple of league announcements:

1) The trading deadline will once again be Week 10 like it was last year.

2) We will do a FA period, probably in Week 12.

Also if you have hardwood and can get in your attic just put fish the wire thur the walls and get wall mounts throw some speaker plate covers over the holes in the wall and call it done.

Jesus H. Crispix.

Did you know in 24 regular season games in this franchise, you've only won by less than 10 points 4 times? I guess it's what passes for accomplishment in this league that I can say 2 of those times were me. :D

How does the FA period work? Also the rule on FA if there's one u want you can't sign him if he's better than ur worst player at the position and u need to cut someone right? I'm jw there's no1 I want but just for future reference...

You're describing the injury replacement FAs. If you are short on a position due to injury, you can add someone at that position who is lower than your worst player at the position, but you don't need to cut someone (unless your roster is full). You do need to release that guy when the injured player comes back. And obviously you need to post about all pick-ups in the thread.

For the FA period, anyone is fair game. We'll pick in reverse order of the standings, so the worse teams get first choice. In this case you DO have to drop someone, but they don't need to play at the same position. We'll go over this all again when the FA period arrives.

No coincidence that the three guys that give me the closest games are all former Division of Doom members.
