Madden 12 League - Official Fantasy CAG League Week 9 Live , Deadline is Friday

Yea I like my team and wanted to draft rookies for the future mostly, after being successful with the 49ers mediocre roster in the other League I feel I can be competitive now with Rookies and If I do lose out now at least I have something to look forward to in the future since about 18 of them I believe have A potential , I obviously have some holes in my team but I am currently going through trying to find a good playbook for my young teams. I won a very tough matchup yesterday so I am excited to see how the rest of my season goes. I think I have Ubernes up next maybe I can do enough to get him to trade Blaine Gabbert to me.

I actually picked Charles Woodson by mistake so I made trade him. I might take a look at your roster Masterawesome and see if there is any trades to be made.

Michael Vick threw 5 picks in his debut for the Patriots. Definitely not a good start. I need to learn how to trust my pocket and let plays develop down the field. This definitely won't happen again. I was able to stay in the game until the last 2 minutes or so, which is a slight positive for me, seeing how I hope it never be careless with the football like that again.

BENGALS AT BROWNS

Not the VY show I was expecting in Cleveland. But a good defensive battle. The Bengals defense had four picks on Tebow and sack fumbled him on the 5 for a touchdown. Vince Young commanded an offense and put up some good drives with Ray Rice holding it down for over 100 yards, but whenever he got passed the Browns 40 I started screwing up, I think he threw one pick, got sacked a few times. Browns tight ends and recivers had 7 receptions for 140 yards. But could never punch in a point, even at half time with Ray Rice fumbling on my 30 with 10 seconds left in the 2nd half. He immediately kicked a field goal. and missed..

What are FA rules gonna be in this league? Same as other? I'm back to 4 CBs again lol, Walter Thurmond got a serious case of dehydration...do I have to tough it out for the next few weeks or am I allowed to pick up another CB lol.

Doom or Cru can confirm, but I believe they said go ahead and pick people up if you have the need. After all, there's nobody in the FA pool which everyone didn't have a chance to draft.

Denver loses 21-14 in a game madden didnt want them to win all oaklands RBs were covered in crisco and denver couldnt get them when they were hitting them in the backfield but MJD will go down with just a little chest bump on top of that I overthrew wide open recivers then when they would catch it they would drop it or just run out of bounds and not even try to put 2 feet down

Yea the run game was like clock work. the oline was very imprssive today. those red zone picks almost kilt me tho

It's the "if you have the need" part I'm not sure about...I do need an extra CB right now since I'm at 4 until Thurmond comes back, but I'd also like to switch out some of my low-rated players for some Free Agents if that's ok. It's not a matter of need...just preference. Is that allowed? It'd be easier, for me at least, if you just came out and said "Free Agency is open to everyone" lol (if that's the case).

For one, I'd prefer to switch out Jason Hanson for someone with a stronger leg...86 kick power won't cut it for me. What a useless draft pick that was...88 OVR kicker with 86 kick power and 88 accuracy. I held my breath on my 46 yard FG...I think it barely made it. He does have 95 awareness though!

Also, do we have any deadline in place right now? Or just playing it casually the first week or so?
 
Casually the first week since we expect this week will be the longest. Cru said he would like to advance every 2-3 days though at some point. And go ahead and make your moves in free agency. I don't think Cru will object. Most of the players there are scrubs anyway.

Yea As Doom said your fine on swapping a few players out week 1, by a few I mean no more than 8 players from the free agency, especially those users who didn't make the draft , just make sure if you take a player you leave a player , so that there is some kind of free agency left over for later in the season.

So are there gonna be a small group of CPU teams? I know the Steelers in my division says CPU. And og whitewidow was having issues that his 1st week opponent doesnt have an Xbox live Gamertag. Anybody know whats up with his opponent, hes the Colts, I forget who he was playing.

The Steelers is friends with Fero so that should be filled and Zurezo should be joining tonight. I talked to The Zero via Pm so he should be in soon. I have to check on Jet's owner I may have to find another user for that team. Other than that we should be good.

I would love to advance tomorrrow if possible, but like doom stated this will be the slowest week of all , I would like to have this league moving pretty fast for the fact I know there os alot of excitement behind Drafting your team and wanting to get some reps in with your team.

I also think it would be a good idea if everybody took a look at your full schedule and make sure you know the best way possible to contact your oppponent. I know plenty of people know each other in the league and we have a strong core of people Im not sure how comfortable everyone is with exchanging numbers but if everybody is ok with it maybe we could create a master list in excel or something and exchange numbers for text message purposes. Another option is a facebook group, but facebook is a little more personal so I understand that may be the least popular. Another idea I have is a phone App called Kik messenger, I am sure at least 99 percent of the people here have a smart phone and could download the free app Kik messenger and use it to better coordinate games.

ps: these are all just ideas but I would love to get through 4 or 5 seasons and the best logical way to do that is to improve how quickly games can get played.
 
In addition as far as trades I would like Masterawesome, to be the "Secretary of State" , if he is up for the task, I feel like I have a really basic formula for evaluating a trade and I could see some things slipping by me. From past leagues I believe Masterawesome has the most in depth approach when breaking down trades fairness. Between Masterawesome and Doom breaking down trade details I don't think any unfair trades will slip through the cracks.
 
Lol Secretary of State...nice, makes me sound powerful! I am up for the task boss. I will start the preliminary brainstorming process on this Gabbert/Ponder trade right away and will have the report on your desk by tomorrow morning. I am pretty lazy these days so I'll probably save the long in-depth analyses for only the controversial trades.

As far as my own trading is concerned...I am also interested in Ryan Mallett if you are trading him Deuce. Colt McCoy's 80 THP scares me...he is pretty accurate though and A potential, so he has some trade value if anyone is interested! I went 11 for 12 for 2 TDs (151 QB Rating) with him which is INSANE for me...I'm usually around top 5 in picks thrown in most franchises and with a sub-50% completion rate. I can't really be throwing deep bombs in this league with my receiving corps (Deion Branch is the fastest receiver on my team with 88 speed), but I just need a QB with the arm to sling those quick passes on those short/medium routes.
 
I Know Bseti50 and whitewidow are not the biggest fans of the site, and would prefer to contact people through X-Box 360, is that ok with everyone?

Also an interesting play came up in the Chiefs Bills game that I hope will spark some much needed discussion in the league.

Me widdow, and Bseti are all new to playing online franchises and i feel like the no going for it on fourth down rules really need a lot of clarification.

From what I was hearing Bseti and the Chiefs were down 7-0 with around 30 seconds left in the Half. At 4th and 1 around the Bills 40 he asked me if it was proper etiquette to go for it.

Now really, I can't see anyone arguing that it is a completely trash call to go for it. These games are only 5 MINUTES!! He had Brady and time to atleast get three points, and we agreed, Go For It.

The Bills owner promptly sent him a message saying something to the affect of "Hey Rookie, no going for it on 4th down, league rules"

On the front page I believe it says no going for it in your own territory, so as I understand it, Bseti had every right to try and get some points on the board, in his position.

Now if he was on the Chiefs 49 does his position automatically call for a punt?

How far behind in points does a team have to be to warrant the use of fourth downs in their own territory? The games are only 5 MINUTES!!

I have found myself in a few of these positions in CAGFL2 and I think an open debate as to what the 4th down rules are would be a great idea before we dive into 5 or 6 seasons of confusion and unwarranted slander over 4th down calls.

 
The Bills are wrong. Every single person on the league would go for it there, and it's fine. I don't know whether he was trying to take advantage of a new player or not, but he shouldn't be doing that.

The rule is play like an NFL coach would play it. Most coaches in the NFL would go for it with 30 seconds left in the half 4th-and-1 on the opponents' 40. So would every single vet in this league.

Edit: All that said, the situations in which you should go for it on 4th down in your own territory are few and far between, even on 4th-and-short.
