Mass Effect 2 Discussion - Fight for the Lost

Insane is much more difficult than it was in the original Mass Effect. Christ, everything hurts (going out of cover for a split second drains a good portion of my 1300 shields) or takes off 3/4ths of my health if I'm lucky to survive.

Glad it's not such a joke like the first Mass Effect, but geez. I only wanted to recruit one character before stopping for a few days and it's proving too much of a pain because battles take so damned long now due to increased enemies and their super fuck ton pool of health/armor/shields/barriers. Once mistake and it costs me a 15 minute fight minimum. Maybe it's because I'm a sentinel. ;o

Going to need to remember to save after and before every fight now.

EDIT: Can't spell.

It's definitely not related to talking to them. Based on your achievements you should be getting close to being able to start some. Just complete some more Missions (Story quests; In this case, probably dossier missions) and it should be fine.
+ finished the game and survived
+ all my squadmates survived
+ my fish and my space hamster survived
+ all weapon/biotic/tech improvements are at least level 3/5, if not maxed out (I take good care of my crew)
I'm so jealous man. I really want to come out with all of my squadmates alive in the end. I guess it's a testament to this game that I'm genuinely anxious/nervous about the final portion of the game, and about my squad mates. I'm guessing you had loyalty for every character?

It's very safe to say that it takes a lot more than just loyalty to make it through to the other side with everyone alive.

I believe some planets/anomalies are really only on one disc. I was finishing up the last of the anomalies I had today while preparing to go through the relay and when I went to do a mission it made me put disc 2 back in. It surprised me.

Also, has anyone else had some pretty big glitches?
I had a glitch in the Collector's base where I went to jump over some cover to run to the next cover and ended up getting stuck floating around and when I went to walk I went straight up in the air (probably about thirty feet) and was promptly shot to death. Also had another glitch like that in one of the anomaly missions. Audio cues keep happening, too. Back after I got Samara EDI kept telling me about the Reaper IFF and that I'd have to take the shuttle for my next mission and I hadn't even done anything involving it yet.

Yeah. My friend did it and gave me this whole breakdown. I'm trying to prepare, gearing up with upgrades and scanning for minerals to try and get as much as possible. Like I said, quite nervous

As long as you know what each member of your crew is good at then you shouldn't have a problem. I only messed up on the tail end of the final mission and it was easily rectified. You may want to set up a backup save just in case, though.

Those glitches where you get lifted up into the air are uncommon but can happen anywhere. It happened to be four or five times I think.

Also had audio cut out twice.

I've also had glitches where my character was looking left and yet my camera was looking forward and the character would then run around sideways. Only way to fix that is to try pretty much every button and cover a few times hoping it unsticks.

Then there's also getting stuck in a dialogue screen with no dialogue wheel or black screens, but I only had each one of those happen once.
Even though I have both disks installed I still will have to swap out the first one for the second one?
Yes, you'll still have to swap. It's not much of an issue thankfully though.

They will start to appear
after Harvest
. Jacob and Miranda are always the first two to unlock, depending on when you go pickup Zaeed from Omega. The rest are based on when you recruited them.

I already have Zaeed.

Yes, there's a NG+. It starts as a clean slate, but I'm not sure if any original ME1 imported stuff will transfer over.
it came out a lot nicer in word for me, there is no identions showing on here when i pasted and posted. Im sure there are spelling errors.
You should put it in a spoiler tag so it doesn't take up ten pages in length.

Thanks. It doesn't look like I'll be playing for a bit. I tried playing it tonight, but my xbox couldn't read the disks. I hope it isn't dying.

{spoiler}long list of crap goes here{/spoiler}
replace the {} with []

On a side note, I can't wait to start ME2, about 3 hours into ME1 and I'm addicted so I'm set video game wise for at least a month or two, especially if ME2 is as good as everybody has been praising it to be.:D

I'm still waiting for my Inferno code from Amazon but with the fact that you can't disable your helmet in cutscenes or dialog situations I'm not that all upset.

On my return trip to the Citadel, I finally stopped by and listened to the games salesman. Yet another example of an extremely minor character that I loved in this game.

Man oh man, 38 hours and counting. I think I'm going to end up around 42-44 hours on my first play through. I don't want this game to end...........

Im sure there are people that would be happy to have the code ;)
Male Shepard is always creepy, hence why I never use him.
Agreed. I've only used male Shepard once, plus Jennifer Hale is a great voice for female Shepard.

I'm up to 42 hours currently and seem to still have plenty left. Wow.
Is it just me, or is default male Shepard one creepy dude when he is trying to hit on women?
The smiling in the game is terrible. It's a pedo smile everytime! The only thing worse is Jacob when he talks because his mouth animations are always amiss.

I really like how paragon this time around doesn't equal out to Shepard being and overtrusting pussified ignoramus. I hated in the first game how by being paragon you were too straight edge and just seemed to take a lot of shit. Not the case in this game.

The planet scanning is lame, no doubt about it. I just do not see why there is a restriction put on the speed at which you can scan. All this does is make things monotonous. My brother has it on PC and he is able to scan as fast as he can more the mouse while I sit there on xbox slowly making my way up and down the planet.

Did Zaeed's loyalty mission last night....

Didn't realize it was a loyalty mission until I looked through the achievements after I completed it and saved the people from burning to death. I booted up my other save I had right before that mission, decided to help him get his vengeance and damn, I am glad I chose to save the people the first time. They really hammer into you that you are a bastard and that you let people burn alive because they you can hear them screaming pretty much the entire mission.

Is it slow as hell to get new guns in this game? I'm about 9 hrs in but still rock the burst Shoryuken pistol, an upgraded heavy pistol and a missile launcher I purchased.....I've had the 2 pistols since the beginning of the game and they're getting pretty boring to use...the only other guns I've picked up have been ARs, which I can't use because I'm a Sentinel.
Male Shepard is always creepy, hence why I never use him.
But Male Shepard is the only one who can hit on Tali and Miranda... that out ways the creepyness. Also it lonely being a female Shepard since Liara isn't even on my ship.

There's not that many guns in the game, so they kind of space them out for unlocking them. I last I found happened about 25 hours into my playthrough.
(although Tali is my #1 forever and ever - thanks in part to the most well-written romance in video gaming history )
Agreed. I half expected the writers to cop out on it but by the end I was pleasantly surprised how well her loyalty quest tied into it. As a matter of fact the whole thing caught me by surprise period. I didn't think they'd actually go through with it which wouldn't have bothered me at all. It felt rather genuine and extremely well written though Miranda's was pretty solid as well.

The only that worries me...
is the fact I may never get a chance to see what my all time favorite fictional alien race actually LOOKS LIKE outside of their enviro-suits. At this point I'd kill for an early unfinished sketch... sheesh. Are the really saving the "best for last" or sweeping it under the rug permanently?

Oh, and where the HELL is Lemm?:bomb:

That is true, but
the Garrus romance is hilarious
so that kind of makes up for it.

For those that started the game fresh, when you make a new character are you allowed to choose how you would have picked the major events or are you stuck on default settings?

Going to make a male Shepard sometime and just wondered if I should just start it from ME 1 or skip ahead to ME 2.

I believe a few are made for you (e.g. the council is dead).

Anyone else do Samara's loyalty mission yet?
I choose to kill Samara and have Morinth join my team. It was an unexpected option. It took me a good minute to decide and I figured killing her would be a more intresting route so why not. Morinth has a skill similar to AI hack called Dominate which charms organics and the fight for you. Also I heard she can be a love intrest if you go this route she kills you, ending the game.

Oh God, I just watched it and it was like, the most hilarious thing ever!
"I brought some wine... Best I could afford on a Vigilante's salary." What the fuck, Garrus? I was rich by that point in the game and I'm sure you're paid pretty well! I better be getting some shit that's been aged since the first contact war!

As soon as he turned on the club music....I nearly died.

I missed it a few pages ago but, thanks a ton James for that planet listing. I haven't come across any of the anomaly side quests yet so this will help. Thanks again!

question:

I've been putting off going to the Citadel (been assembling the team and I just finished Jacob's loyalty mission), am I screwing up the story or am I still in the clear on missing anything?
What are the requirements to achieve that?
I have NO IDEA but I had everyone loyal and everythign upgraded and then a little bit of luck

first time modim died had to restart this was my strategy

Tali in vents
Garrus as secondary team leader
Grunt as escort
Jack as biotic shield
Garrus again as secondary team leader

and have mordim and mirranda on my team at all times

and everyone lived

but it might not work for everyone

if anyone didn't manage to get a collectors copy i have a extra one id sell for face value plus shipping and 1,2, or 3 dr. pepper ea promo codes if interested.

I just got to the
Collector's ship and it's pissing me off. They do way too much damage. It doesn't help that my guns still suck balls (they've sucked balls for about 15 hours now. I'm still waiting on better upgrades. ) and take forever to kill them. Also when trying to move away from enemies when they're up close to Shep, he moves like he has cement shoes and I always die. This part is kinda frustrating.

Ha, love this game, it has such an amount of depth.

little easter egg that I thought was great, was looking through the guide when I saw this happen myself. Dont watch unless you've finished the game.
