Lol I had a problem adding points to my account, since I live out in the boonies so grabbing a points card isn't the best option, and was going to pick up Rocket Riot for 400 points. Then I practically smacked myself and said oh wait today that new ME2 DLC comes out. haha

Its so much easier to see the world in black and white…. Kasumi DLC? I don't know what to do with Kasumi DLC…

April 6, 2010 - Mass Effect 2 fans will have to continue to wait.
The latest downloadable content, Kasumi's Stolen Memory, is currently unavailable for download through Xbox Live. BioWare planned to release the extra content this morning, but has since run into server troubles.
An Electronic Arts spokesperson told IGN the publisher is working with Microsoft to resolve the issue.
"We're working with MS to resolve the issue and plan to get it up as soon as possible," the representative said.
Kasumi's Stolen Memory is the first premium content released for Mass Effect 2. Even those who are Cerberus Network members will have to pay 560 Microsoft points on Xbox LIVE, or 560 BioWare points ($7) for PC.
Does the achievment show up in the game listing on the console? I know it's showing up on xbox.com, but if it doesn't show up in the game it won't pop up when you get it and you'll have to recover your gamertag and do it again to clear it up.
^ Speaks from experience with Magic XBLA and RE 5 DLC.
The way Kasumi is introduced to Shepard is a good start. I already liked her character from the first trailer and it was nice to finally get some back story on her. Her loyalty mission is very cool. I liked that it was like Samara's but with a James Bond feel, followed by all out combat. Seeing all of Donovan's treasures was also very cool, especially the head of the Statue of Liberty (along with the codex entry). The new SMG is a beast... makes me wish I had it on all of my playthroughs.
I've got an Engineer I'm almost done with in ME1 and I plan to use Kasumi throughout that ME2 playthrough. Zaeed really grew on me this way when I brought him along with my Adept. I already like Kasumi, though, any further interaction with her will just be icing on the cake.
If you're playing on Insanity, I would suggest using Heavy Shadow Strike for Kasumi instead of Rapid. Rapid usually doesn't kill and she will get lit up if she's out in the open for too long.
Overall, I loved it. Well worth the 560 points in my opinion, and I'm sure that will strengthen whenever I bring her along on my Engineer.
I really had some fun with that DLC. I'm just curious about what you guys did with the information at the end? I had her keep it cause of her friend's memories. I wonder if there will be any consequences in ME3?
I also noticed that Kasumi's room has the ship's bar. If shepard has several drinks, I got a message from EDI telling me where the men's restroom is, but nothing happened. I wonder if you can get sick like in the citadel's bar?
I found the Kasumi DLC pretty underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but not worth 560 points either.
Probably took me an hour and 15 minutes or so the first time with talking to Her and legion after picking her up and after her mission. Less than that when I decided to do it again on my other character. For the information at the end, I kept it in my main, paragon playthrough. Made her erase it in my renegade playthrough.
She seems like an OK character, hopefully we get a full blown expansion so we really get a chance user her and Legion.
I also did the Firewalker DLC with my 2nd character. That was pretty painful the 2nd go around, kind of hope they don't waste development time on more Hammerhead missions vs. more on foot missions, a full blown expansion etc.
Ok, so is Kasumi worth it? Seems like some of you liked it. Hows it stack up to the other loyalty missions?
It's less straightforward than some of the others. More varied gameplay than usual
(starts out with lots of conversation and some mild puzzle solving, mixes in a good deal of combat, boss fight at the end)
. The mood also seems a little more breezy, due to Kasumi's character and the spy atmosphere. Definitely a solid mission and I'd say a refreshing change of pace compared to the overall game.
I just started ME2 last night. I can't believe it was all the way since September 2008 when I last played the first game. So far so good but I only put in about 90 minutes (I just got off the space station). It definitely seems epic. How long should I expect to put into it? My save file said I finished the first one in 32 hours (I went to every planet and did every side mission). I'm also trying it as an Infiltrator - I was a Soldier last time.
For those who might be on the fence about the Kasumi download, here's a video showing off her ability as a squadmate, the new Locust SMG, and her unique Flashbang Grenade ability. No loyalty mission spoilers in here, either:

It was fine. Not one of the best loyalty missions, but not bad.
It's just that none of the loyalty missions in the game would really seem worth 560 points to me, and this one's no different.
But the value will be better if they put out a full blown expansion so those of us done with our playthroughs get a chance to use her (and legion) as squadmates more.
The Locust SMG is pretty damn good, so if you're still doing playthroughs and use SMGs that's a nice plus. I don't see Kasumi's flash bang being that useful. She blinded me with it a few times which was annoying.
Another plus for me, was that it got my main playthrough up to level 30.

I put like 42 hours into my first playthrough, but I wasted a ton of time scanning for minerals (had tons left over at the end).
Second playthrough was around 23 hours or something. Did much less scanning, skipped through a lot of dialogue that I remembered, didn't talk to my squadmates on the ship as much etc.
Both playthroughs I did all the sidequests etc. I'd say a first playthrough, if you don't go crazy on planet scanning etc. would probably be 35 hours or so if you take time to explore, talk to everyone etc.

Unless you're one of the phantom people that Bioware claims actually enjoy the planet scanning...
Correct.
Good to know. Though,
is the med bay upgrade useful in any way, unless you're doing a renegade playthrough? Everything I've seen in the description seems to make it sound like it's useless for anyone doing a paragon playthrough.
Unless you're one of the phantom people that Bioware claims actually enjoy the planet scanning...
I've certainly played worse time-sinks, and it's at least a little more involving than the surveying in the Mako. 3-5 button presses does not make me interested.
I don't hate it, though doing a whole system with only 30 probes in the bay and no fuel depot handy in-system is a bit of a PITA.
It's completely useless for any playthrough. If you're playing as a Renegade, you should be enjoying the badass scars that Shepard receives If you're playing as Paragon, you don't have to worry about them.

The resource for that upgrade is better spent on weapon upgrades, if that was a useless upgrade.
I did the upgrade in both my playthroughs, but I had a ton of minerals. Especially in the first, but I still over did it on the second since you start with some minerals, and I still scanned every rich planet to depletion.
I didn't like the scars and wanted them gone ASAP in both playthroughs.

Well call me guilty on this, I find scanning soothing. It's a good change in pace from the combat and it makes the combat sections even more enjoyable.

Joystiq has a slightly reluctantly positive Kasumi review up.
Sounds like a "meh, it's not bad, though we're not sure if it's $7 good". Then again, who spends full price on points around here?

That will probably be the general take on it. It's a new character and a decent loyalty missiong, but it's still $7 for an hour of gameplay. Though again that value gets better if we get a bunch more on foot missions in future DLC so we can take advantage of the character, new SMG gun etc.
As for points, most of mine have been bought at full price, sans getting the $20 cards at Target for $15 a coupe of times.
I seem to always miss deals on points, and I don't stock up like crazy when there is a deal as I don't buy much on the marketplace.

You mean like this?
I've really enjoyed playing through both Mass Effect games and I want to go back and try a female Shepard to see what that's like. I'm probably going to wait though. I did two playthroughs to get a maxed out ME1 Shepard. I don't want to get burned out on such great games. Well, that, and I still have plenty of other RPGs in my backlog.

Hahah that's a bit much. My planet usually looked like a game of Battleship.
Yes I would highly encourage a female playthrough, good times.Renegade too

And I plan to redo playthroughs on ME1 and ME2 at some point with a femShep Renegade. Since I hear how amusing both games are with that type of character.
Price - 7.5/10. It's not the best price in the world, but it could be way worse (Modern Warfare 2, anyone?). Obviously something like 400 MS points is a little easier on the wallet, but 560 is definitely an acceptable price for what you get in return with this DLC:
New SMG (the best in the game, by far)
New crew member (a personal favorite of mine)
New bonus ability (arguably the best crowd control ability in the game)
New formal suit for Shepard (not really a selling point, but nice nonetheless)
Length - 8/10. It took me exactly an hour and a half on Insanity - as advertised. I maybe died twice (from being rusty at the game) and I took my sweet-ass time listening to all the Kasumi dialog that I could throughout various parts of the mission. It feels like one of the longer loyalty missions to me, and it was time well spent.
Story - 8.5/10. Kasumi's background story is surprisingly interesting. The mission she takes you on is just as personal (if not more) than every other squadmate's in the game. Her part in the game doesn't really feel "tacked on" at all, though I can admit the lack of a conversation wheel while aboard the Normandy does diminish her overall importance for me in the big picture of Mass Effect. However, despite the lack of deep conversations with her, Kasumi still provides plenty of dialog and insight into her character to keep you coming back mission after mission to see what else she has to share.
Presentation - 9.5/10. The layout and scenery of Kasumi's loyalty mission does not disappoint. Obviously set in an environment full of art, her mission is filled with many elaborate rooms and decor as well as many statues, carvings, writings, and more. Whether it's the first scene of Shepard meeting Kasumi all the way to the grand finale of the mission, the visual quality of this DLC is top notch. The voice acting for Kasumi is very well done, and it really fits her character. Also, the music that goes with this mission matches the tone perfectly every step of the way. It's one of the most unique parts of the game, and it's definitely earned its place at the table for all my future playthroughs.
Gameplay - 9.5/10. The gameplay reminds me of a mix between some of the loyalty missions in ME2. You cover all the bases in this mission including espionage, all-out combat, and escape. The new SMG you receive during this mission is arguably one of the best guns in the game, and Kasumi's role as a squadmate is very unique (she brings a cloaked backstab, Overload, and flashbang grenades to the team). You face a large amount of tough enemies in this DLC and you are constantly forced in and out of close and long range fights. This mission definitely requires some strategy if you are to make it out without any scratches. It is as polished and as intense (if not more) than the other missions you will encounter in ME2.
Overall Score - 9/10. (Overall score is not an average of other sub-scores.)
Closing remarks: For me Bring Down the Sky set the bar high in terms of the quality that DLC for Mass Effect games should be. The Kasumi DLC raised the bar even higher for me and, if this is the kind of quality we can expect for future ME2 DLC, then the future looks very bright for this game.
Spoilerific thoughts about the DLC:
Loved all the statues/artwork in Hock's vault (and the Saren statue), including Lady Liberty's head.
Loved the scene where Kasumi jumps on top of Hock's turret ship to disable the shields.
Loved the scene where Kasumi could access the memories inside the greybox - I think it revealed the most about her character.
Was anyone else hoping we would get to keep the bad guy's mansion or at least try to grab some art for the Normandy? You got a nice pad in the Pinnacle station in ME1. It would have been nice to have a huge place for you and your love interest. That would have been awesome.
