Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread

Yeah. I knew from day one, but rarely changed unless I had to or the stat boost was that good. Some of those costumes are just plain ugly.

just finished last night and I have to say that anyone complaining just needs to grow a pair. It made perfect sense within the context of the game and the way I played my Shepard.

Furthermore, this faux outrage towards the developer is exactly why gamers tend to shoot themselves in the foot. Since BioWare attempted something daring and nuanced and intricate as opposed to "And Master Chief Saves The Day" and is getting severe pushback because of it, other developers are sure to experiment with new IP and just forget about making Halo 7 and Modernwarfare 32.6.

fucking A people. You're like all the chicks that are sad that Team Edward prevailed over Team Jacob.
 
...I'm going to laugh my ass off if Starbitch magically teleports your Shepard to Gillian's Inbred Island. It's the only possible way it could manage to troll harder. I'm already a little worried for this "Extended Cut". This could be a sign of them truly believing all the "haters" care about is a "happy" ending.

LOL. The possibilities for them screwing this up are literally limitless. The fact EA is involved and that we aren't paying a dime for it multiples those odds tenfold. Now I'm excited for completely different reasons. I want to know if it's possible for them to 1-up themselves on this and turn this train wreck into Hiroshima. Think of meme possibilities here. A comedy gold mine of epic proportions. Marauder Shields could finally have a partner in crime.

You may be on to something...
With female Shepard you can attempt to initiate a romance with Joker and he turns you down... Not something she's used to hearing. The control ending could be her scheme to fuck with him.

The ending combat sequence as you're trying to get off the station was pretty good, and the last bit of it on the surface of the station was pretty amazing, IMO.

wow - that MP pack looks awesome! And FREE!!! And it'll be here in just a few days!!! I'm keeping my excitement a bit reserved on the weapons - but new chars and new maps - hell yeah!
 
I'm curious how the Geth will be received from an art standpoint. They kinda broke the silhouette ideal by using an established enemy. I've seen people freak out just from having a cloaked infiltrator on their team thinking it was a Hunter sneaking up on em; now it actually IS one.

Easy; enforce pink coloration for friendly geth. :D

Also I really want that Striker Rifle in SP. Gimme.
 
What do you guys think that Geth is using with all of the glyphs on the screen? Looked kinda like Assassinate or Marksman.

Justicar's barrier bubble looks like a welcome edition. Maybe it'll make hacking in the middle of Giant on gold a little more doable.


Edit: That Geth move looks like it at least highlights all of the targets in the area. Through geometry and all. I'M SO EXCITED.

I'd have to agree, that rifle looks badass and would be great in SP.

But really that Geth SMG my eyes were like oO damn that's sweet. There I fixed it lol.

First MP DLC is free either due to the 1)content being leaked before, 2)outcry from fans after how ME3 ended (here's a little something for yah), 3)was always planned, 4)is meant to sell copies, eliminate more used copies. I can hardly see it as option 3 though since Microsoft pretty much makes devs put a number on their price (Bastion DLC anyone).

As for the holy crap it's free and EA is behind it. EA already got your money with the online pass.:booty:

A buddy went out and found a good deal on ME3 used but than complained about paying $10 for the online pass lol.

Personally I'm fine with the pass because I've felt like I've gotten my money's worth for the multiplayer and oh yeah I'm so ready for some new maps (and playing as a Geth!)!

It's cool that it's free, and content that most ME3 players would buy, but I can't help but think that EA pulls this kind of slick move every so often, to make people forget about how awful of a company they are, and how they treat customers.

I find it extremely difficult to believe the ending controversy had nothing to do with this being free and out so soon after the "Extended Cut" announcement. Looks like I have an excuse to keep my copy a bit longer.
 
I wonder if people actually buy the packs with MSP. Because that could be the thinking too, release free multiplayer content that drives more microtransactions.

Hahaha yeah, they totally do. I'll admit I bought a few Spectres when the game first dropped. And I know a few people personally who have spent a good bit of money on the things.

I bet there will be a substantial spike of people dropping real dollars trying to get the new classes on Day 1.
 
Well far be it from me to tell other people what's a good use of their money. (*glances over at extensive collection of Final Fantasy XIII-2 costumes and Gears of War 3 weapon skins...*)
 
LOL. If people want to spend more out of pocket be my guest. I just don't want to hear or see any bitching when something they feel should be free has a price tag on it in the future.

I'm stoked for new MP content. The fact that its free is just too awesome. I wondered about achievements but it looks like there won't be and that's understandable since they've always said cheevos would tie into the single player side first and foremost. I just want to get my hands on the Beth engineer or krogan vanguard.

Now....can I please have my volus adapt?
