Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread
Well I just beat the EC. I said my peace on Twitter and I'll talk about it next week on Checkmate Arcade, but now I can go back through the thread.

Also, I have a theory as to why the military strength level after the readiness debuff was lowered to see the "best" ending:

The Wii U version will have no MP and no way to connect with your EA account so the iOS apps won't work either so they either shut off the best endings to Wii U owners, or make it easier for everyone to see the endings.

Plus if they lowered the Wii U requirements but not the other systems, they'd have another major issue with people complaining they were forced to do other things that not every game owner had to do.

One question though: is the lowering of the strength requirement in the new 6MB patch or is it part of the code in EC? Has anyone tested it?
Makes sense about the Wii U version not having any way to increase EMS without MP. Plus, I'm sure they'll have the "Genesis squared' comic so you can figure out what you would have done in ME1 and ME2, had you actually played them.

For the EMS requirement, I think it's in EC, on the assumption that unlocking the "Master And Commander" achievement is the indicator for that. I had it unlock on my second playthrough which was after I downloaded EC though didn't have it on my first playthrough.
Oh man, confirmed Platinum. We have a new difficulty to try Batarian punching through.
bling bling.

with all the equipment upgrades, new classes and wpns? platinum was needed.

Absolutely. I have a harder time jumping on for extended periods of time now. Hoping this stuff turns out cool, as I'd love to get back into it.

I got Master and Commander on my first playthrough. I have 7100 in assets and had played enough MP then to have 100% readiness to not get any debuff.
I got Master and Commander on my first playthrough. I have 7100 in assets and had played enough MP then to have 100% readiness to not get any debuff.
There's the thing then.

I didn't play any MP, so I was always at 50% readiness. My first playthrough was about 6800 in TMS / 3400 in EMS and I didn't get the Master And Commander achievement and I'm sitting right before Cronos Station on that playthrough

Second Playthrough, I did get Master And Commander unlocked when my TMS hit over 6200 / EMS hit over 3100 and I downloaded EC before I was at that 6200 / 3100 point. That happened before Cronos Station, I think it was before Horizon if I'm remembering correctly. That's what I'm basing my statement on that the lowered EMS requirements from EC were the tie to the M&C achievement.

lemmie know, I can farm rares on D3 during my lunch hour instead. I'd imagine platinum is much harder and the credit rewards much higher...I'm wondering though if ppl will just farm wave 3 if it's significant enough than 6-10 waves of Gold.

Sounds good. I'll shoot Jelks a message to let him know about the impending release. Dude somehow never sees this stuff online.

Pretty happy about everything I'm hearing from the new DLC. Until I saw this:

New In-Mission Objective – Randomly occurring during waves 3, 6 and 10, this new objective will challenge teams to keep a targeted agent alive by protecting and escorting them to a designated extraction zone on each map.

Yay for protecting an AI NPC. Just what I didn't want.

Unless, someone on the team is severely debuffed and you have to escort him to the extraction.

Hmmm...

It'll prolly be like the package one, except somebody randomly gets the package.

Considering most people don't even move with the package right (You move faster strafing and backpedaling guys!), I'm not looking forward to this one.

Psh wave 10 or bust

Yeah, I found out strafing moves you a little bit faster the 2nd time I picked up the package.

But right now, based on the wording (Targeted Agent), it's a person and not a package. I'm just hoping it's a teammate and not an NPC (with abysmal health/shields). If it is, please make in a kroguard with full health stats.

I love getting the escort item with my Kroguard and heavy melee'ing to victory. Works pretty well with the Vorcha too.
Oh yeah that'd be great, throw in the big ol' bosses on Wave 11 for a big cash bonus! I don't need no xp. :D

Problem is Cerberus needs a big boss, hmmm.
Cereberus could use the attack heli (like the one that went after Archangel). That way it'd be airborne like the harvester and fit in the overall theme of Cereberus using mechs.

I'd also prefer it the big boss types only took a bunch of damage from missles instead of autokill.

I like that idea. An attack heli for Cerberus would be kind of neat as a Final Boss in the last wave (or one of the last waves).

I think for Platinum, they should have one more wave where you face off against a powerful named enemy. Like a Harvester (or Harbinger, if they REALLY wanted to troll us) for Reapers, Kai Leng for Cerberus, and Overlord for Geth. Something that gives a LOT of credits for beating it.

Simosaurus and I have been talking about boss-waves and thinking through who the bosses would be, for a while. It's a great idea that would force solid teamwork, could be a great credit-source and, more than anything, give some spice to MP other than new maps, weapons and classes. Don't get me wrong, I love all that stuff, but I need something new to do in MP. I'm starting to lose interest a bit.

I really need to get back into this. Now that Diablo 3 seems old to me I will be picking this back up. If anyone sees me on and wants to play send me an invite. I'll let you know now I'm not that great of a player. Just let me know you are from CAG if you do.
we should split into cag squads and see who beats platinum first D:
Sure, let's do it.

Curious to see if they actually fixed Rage on the Kroguard. Either way, I will HAPPILY take a Barrier buff for him. Also, didn't they nerf Blade Armor in the past? Did they just come back to rebuff it?

Krogan buffs, oh yeah!

And buffs to Blade Armor, making Batarian Soldier even more awesome!

I'm not sure if Paragon Lost really does look cool, or I'm just a hopeless fanboy. Point of reference: I liked Dragon Age - Dawn of the Seeker.

Oh man I finally did it. It's almost 3 AM in the morning but I was able to get Gold on Firebase with randoms. Biotic Explosions and Justicar Bubble oh my. Had a ex Cerberus class constantly unleashing the whips lol. Trick is someone has to watch the point so they don't flank from going around the corner, Infiltrator helped there. Ahh I'm tired...
Wow that new class is pretty cool. Will you be able to use that straight off the bat when you download this DLC?
No, gotta get it through reinforcement packs like everything else.

Way to go, Spy. I need to give it another shot. I felt my adept gave me the best chance, but I think I gave up too soon.

Yeah, I don't think we were coordinating enough last night. We split off in two squads of two, but the two squads didn't strategize enough. It's fine for silver, but gold requires more. I gave up too soon as well. I might try again tonight. I felt best with the adept, as well.

Just got it on Giant with randoms. Some of them are ok in my book and whaddaya know? Found some of them.

Yeah other than Firebase, Giant is the only other map I've completed Gold on.

I have two more places to complete Gold on and for the life of me, I can't figure out which ones they are.

Off the top of my head, I know I've completed Giant, White, and Reactor. So, of the original six, that leaves Dagger, Ghost, and Glacier.

Hope its not Glacier. Really hate that map because it's a bit cramped compared to the other maps.

Also, I'll be on tomorrow around 10-11AM PST until 1-3PM PST. If anyone wants to knock out the Reaper/Gold challenge, feel free to add me and we'll try to make something happen.

Looks like the credits for completing Platinum are around 130-135k. Also, if one person dominates the match, 200k+ points is pretty easy to obtain.

Nice, 1.3 Premium Spectre packs per match. Not bad at all.

God speed and good tidings to those who will be able to play and thrive on Platinum. I'm sure I'll try it eventually, but I'm expecting a good weiner-stomp within moments of jumping off the dropship. Hell, I couldn't make it through a Gold match this weekend with a solid crew or a decent group of coordinated randoms. And I consider myself a decent ME3 MP player. Not the greatest, but I can hold my own and support a good squad.

So apparently at the BioWare Comic-Con panel, they dropped some hints about an Omega/Aria T'Loak themed DLC being next in line after Leviathan, as many people have suspected.

They also showed this pic, which seems to show an Atlas mech underwater:

First thing that came to mind...would you kindly...

Might want to hold off until Wednesday to spend your credits, lest the Resurgence problem rears its ugly head.

Unless people report things working fine on Tuesday.
