Mavs to the Finals: Congrats to the Heat
How can a team be ignorant?
Well, the Knicks are about as close as you can get.

I wouldn't say the Heat were though.

Trust me, before the playoffs are over Payton, Walker, and Williams will do/say something really stupid.

Flip Saunders has to be like the biggest loser coach ever. Even a bigger loser than Don Nelson geez...

Coach Jackson would have taken that Pistons team all way.

Yeah OP, I think Dirk is the best player in the NBA.

That guy is a freak that almost beat dream team one( with magic, jordan, etc) when he was 19 during the Barcelona Olympics.

7"0 guy shooting 3's and driving like a guard.. WTF?

I agree Flip has messed up. Big Ben pointed that out at practice, they don't focus on what got them their championship which is defense. Flip so far has got outcoached every series so far, and in the Cavs series got killed by Mike Brown.

3-1 isn't over but the way Dwayne Wade is playing which is near Jordan level, I don't think the Pistons can come back.

ahahah MIKE BROWN... There are high school coaches that can coach better than that guy.. ahhahah good point.

He lost the respect of his core players. They should put Prince on Wade. shit do something.

Coming from a highschool ball-player, their's no high-school coaches that are up to par to even D-1 college coaches.

Prince on Wade? You're crazy..Wade can blow by anyone 1 on 1, Hamilton just has to get help when Wade goes to penetrate.

Morgan Wootten. Except he retireed in 2002 from Dematha.

Actaully, Prince on Wade might not be a bad idea. Prince played well against Kobe in the finals 2 years ago.

I love all the conspiracy theories out there now....people are saying the NBA does NOT want the Pistons to win since they are not marketable. Spurs are out, so they need one team in the finals that may bring some excitement. Kinda is fitting though....what, Miami shot 40+ free throws. The refs totally blew that game. The Pistons could not get in any rhythm with the refs blowing whistels every minute.

I don't know what's wrong with the Pistons, but I can't give the Heat any credit if they win this series. Well, maybe a little. But the fact is, the Pistons haven't played anywhere near the level they did during the regular season after the first two blowouts of the Cavs. They can't blame anyone but themselves for the sorry performances since.

You still have to give the Heat credit if they win the series. No matter how bad the Pistons have been playing they still haven gotten this far and had the best record in the league. Cavs had a chance to take them out and lost 2 in a row. Heat deserve credit if they win.
On ESPN this morning they said DWade is shooting 70% from the field. That is unreal.
That is ridiculous.
I decided to check on Yahoo for myself.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3708/gamelog;_ylt=A0SO56Jcg3xELVMAvgGkvLYF

Game 1 9/11 81.8% FG
Game 2 11/20 55% FG
Game 3 13/17 76.5%
Game 4 8/11 72.7%

Man, I don't I have ever seen stats like that in the playoffs. He's really taking it to a whole other level right now.
Wade has really been playing like a madman lately and Billups has been pretty bad. Pistons seem to be feuding and falling apart. Whats with all the foul trouble last night?

From the looks of it Detriot will probably win one more and and thats it.

That's kinda my point right there. I certainly acknowledge that the Heat are better than the Cavs, so the losing two in a row part (or three in this case) isn't as likely to follow here.

Pistons just need to start playing some defense. Elbow Wade in the face, attack Shaq in the lane so he picks up fouls, hack a shaq, etc, shit they need to at least act like they want to win. R. Wallace needs to stop his love affair with his outside game, and get inside the lane to help out Ben. Two years ago Shaq had to earn every point he got. In that series, R. Wallace did an excellent job pestering the Diesel where he would just pick up offensive fouls in frustration.

Where's your heart Detroit? You have four-five current all stars on that team yet you guys just keep point fingers at each other? Even a dickhead like Kobe Byrant doesnt point fingers to his fellow teamates when they lose. Even if kobe is rolling with the likes of a: Kawme Brown, TRASH Parker, and other useless clowns that have been disbanded from other horrendus franchises he never blames them.

Pistons are still the more talented team in my book but talent alone doesnt win games.

Im out.

I think Rasheed is severly overrated in the post. Most of the time he doesn't have the strength to finish strongly and when he tries to back someone down you can see he is devoid of upper body strength. He seems better when he faces up in the post. He does shoot way to many threes though.

Maybe its a age factor thing, but there was a time in his carreer where R. Wallace was a decent post player on both sides. That's besides the point. Even if he is less effective in the post, his presence on the outside leaves less of a chance for a Pistons rebound.

I know where your coming from but you still have to give the Heat some credit. If they do win, they are the Eastern Conference Champs. And they will have a very good chance of beating the Mavs or Suns, so they might end up being the NBA Champs. So give creadit where credit is due.

The Mavs should close this series out by Thursday. They seem to have figured the Suns offense out and have made the necessary adjustments. Hope they can pick up a W tonight. Josh Howard has raised his game a lot in this series.

Josh Howard has played great in this series. If the Mavs win tonight this series is done. Mavs/Heat would be an interesting finals.

I told my brother-in-law that Josh Howard dropping to the bottom the the first round the year he was drafted meant a lot of teams passed on a quality player. I never forget to tell him that. There is no way an ACC player of the year at a solid program like Wake Forest should have dropped that far.

Agreed, totally, but I'm glad the Mavs got him.

Anyone else think the refs are being shady tonight? They should be on to Bells constant flopping, and that second foul on Dirk was outrageous considering Nash fouled him twice before he was called for his "foul".

The refs have been doing a poor job in the playoffs in general. Doesn't surprise me that there have been a bunch of bad calls already.

Yeah, they called it pretty good in the first three, but there were some AWFUL calls in that first half. Especially that call where Harris was standing there and Bell flew into him and Harris was whistled.

Man, I still don't see how Marion can hit any jumpers with that awful looking shot of his. Only Bill Cartwright's shot can compare in ugliness.

The Suns just totaly dominated the second half. Hopefully for the Mavs sake Josh Howard is ok. Dirk had a really off game. Mavs just looked off as a team.

Agreed, Dirk and Terry played horrible. The refs weren't tremendous either tonight, they should be well aware of Bell's horribly acted flopping by now.

I didn't see the game but I saw a reply of his flop, sad. fuck bell anyway, dirty playing biotch.

Yeah, Bell pisses me off cuz he flops worse then Ginobli and the next play Diaw slams Harris to the floor and they call a blocking foul. Those refs were completely inconsistent. The Mavs would have lost anyway, but I hope the refs for game 5 are better.

Johnson should've put Armstrong in early once Bell started flopping everywhere. The only player that played well for the Mavs was Griffin.

Outside of Game 3's second half, Terry has shot like crap so I'm hoping he tears up the Suns in Game 5.
Here's to the Mavs winning two in Phoenix and coming back home to advance to the Finals come Thursday!
You need to stop relying on your pre-game "gut-feeling" - it's killing the Mavs.

I was rooting for the Heat to end the series tonight. Now they have a little pressure to try and win Game 6 so they don't have to go back to Detroit. They should of fed Shaq more in the 4th quarter.

Detroit actually looked like a team this game....lucky they won even with Rasheed's horrible game (again).

The block on Shaq by Ben was GREAT....

Only question now is if that was an anomaly in the series or if they've actually turned the corner and can continue that play in Miami. If so, they do have a chance to take this seven and win. If not, we'll be waiting a few months to watch them play again, with a new coach.

I really don't know what the problem with Detroit is this year in the playoffs. I can't believe the Cav's put up that much of a fight and now Miami. Granted, Miami is a good team, but I did not think they would be leading this series.
lucky they won even with Rasheed's horrible game (again).

They should just start McDyess. I don't know what the hell Sheed is doing other than looking like and sounding like an idiot.

That block was nice. Most people in the NBA don't challenge Shaq. Ben isn't afraid to get dunked on an that's what sets him apart from some of these other primadonnas.

You have to leave Sheed in there. The Pistons are used to there starting five and haved proved to play well together. I know right now Sheed is struggling but Mcdyess is playing well off the bench. Sometimes well you flip flop it fucks things up. Sheed should be taken out of the game when he start shooting bad shots. But I still don't understand the criticism towards Flip. It's like the players have nothing else to blame.

damn...tim thomas wasted his 6 threes...i really thought suns could have won it, but i saw it slipping from them when howard came back in the game

Dirk was unstoppable in that 4th quarter and once again Howard played another great game. I hope they close it out in Phoenix on Saturday. Dirk needs to bring his German coach with him, cuz he always seems to have big games when he attends his games.
