Mavs to the Finals: Congrats to the Heat
hah, you say that like guyver was the heat and you were dallas
Heh heh. You may have won the battle, but the war is STILL ON!!!

I know the Mavs will bounce back tommorow night. Dirk has played too hard and with a lot of heart to let his missed FT let him down. Look for him to have a monster game tommorow night.

Anyone in the DFW know the song they play on Kiss FM about the mavs? I'm trying to find that song if anyone can help me.

My prediction tonight, Mavs by 6.

Dirk looked really shook up after he missed that free throw. If things don't go his way early in the game, I think he's going to go into a mini-slump.

I can't believe this... my local news just interrupted the NBA Finals to air a local hockey team winning some championship.

I just missed the last two minutes of the first half...
Is it just me, or does Dirk Nowitski take 8 steps every time he goes to the basket?
Not just you, he takes on average at least 5. But, refs don't call it because his leg movement looks like an amputee.

Wow, Dirk and Howard STUNK. Howard needs to learn how to hold the damn ball and not turn it over everytime he gets it.

Is it the same intro song they play at Dallas home games when they announce the Dallas lineup?

Also Dallas really stunk tonight. I can't believe Johnson is letting them settle for so many jump shots in this series.

I'm not sure, but its something about beating the spurs, suns and up by 2-0 against Miami.

I agree, they shouldn't settle for jump shots when the lane is wide open for a layup or a dunk.
I changed my mind, I do want to take your money. ;)
That's fine with me.

Miami is still 2-4 against Dallas on the season and have yet to win a game in Dallas.

Even if they win the next game, they still have to win in Dallas.

However, Dirk has been absolutely trash in this series. I really don't know what the deal is, but he's going to have to get his shit together, or he needs to sit down and let someone else lead this team (i.e. Jason Terry).
So the bet is on?

Also fuck whatever happened during the season. Its 2-2 and stackhouse is a punk bitch.
Sure it is. $20 via Paypal?

I didn't get to see very much of today's game, but I heard Stackhouse fouled someone pretty hard. As long as he didn't hurt anyone too bad, I don't see the wrong in what he did. He got his nose broken by Shaq, so I consider it an eye for an eye.

Hell yeah it's an eye for an eye. Shaq has been throwing elbows this entire series. It's about time he caught one. It's a shame there wasn't any blood.

yea stackhouse is a punk bitch... anyways..

MIAMI – He sat there on David Letterman's show with a cocksure grin and a smack-talking mouth in a guest appearance whose bad timing was exceeded only by its imbecilic arrogance.

What in the world (other than his Texas-sized ego) possessed Mark Cuban to go on national TV Wednesday and yuk it up like the NBA Finals were in the bag? What was Cuban thinking when he decided to take a pot shot at Miami Heat coach Pat Riley, criticizing his style of play as being ugly and overly physical?
Well guess what, the NBA Finals just turned into just that kind of Riley-perfect series – a physical slugfest. It's a style that doesn't suit a Dallas Mavericks franchise that will have questions about toughness (physical and mental) until it either wins a title or has Cuban stop pampering them with opulent locker rooms, easy excuses and a home-court environment long on one slapstick silly gag after another.

My favorite part

Other than Jerry Stackhouse, whose flagrant foul on Shaquille O'Neal spoke of a player who wasn't going to go down easy, there wasn't any spark. (Predictably, Shaq was not going to give Stack any satisfaction – "My daughters tackle me harder," he said.)

I love it!! I have no stake in which team wins, but I was so sick of hearing that Miami was done after going down 2-0. That's all the writer in the Tribune was writing about for 2 days (and frankly, even after they won game 3). You'd think these guys that have been sportswriters for X years would know that Dallas didn't do anything but hold serve in the first 2 games. I know it's cliche, and I don't always agree, but alot of times the series doesn't really start until someone loses at home.

A small part of me is rooting for Miami, although after the Bulls got knocked out I have been rooting for Dallas, and I generally like Dallas better than Miami (although it would be nice to see 'Zo and Payton get a ring).

Sorry Grave! ;)

I love Shaq's quote "my daughters tackle me harder"

First off Shaq has been pushing and abusing people all series, like STACKHOUSE's nose, Dirk's face.

Second, if his daughters tackler harder than why was he trying to get up to confront Stackhouse? It was completely obvious that he was, but Wade held him down.

Third the Mavericks played the worst game I've seen them play in years. The Heat turned it over like 10 times in the first few minutes of the fourth and all they could muster the entire quarter was a measly 7 points, pathetic. I want to see them win on Sunday and go back home up 3-2, but I think even if they go home down 3-2 they can still win it.

Wade is playing on another level, it's like he can't miss. He's playing incredible on the glass too, and his defense has been pretty killer. Suffice to say I hate him a lot right now, I hope the Mavs can slow him down and Dirk and Howard need to DRIVE if they can't get their shots to fall.

GO MAVS!
And I must admit that Wade is better than Lebron. People are all over Lebrons jock, but I haven't seen Wade air ball once in these finals. I saw Lebron chuck up a few air balls in his playoff games. Wade is playing on another level, it's like he can't miss. He's playing incredible on the glass too, and his defense has been pretty killer. Suffice to say I hate him a lot right not, I hope the Mavs can slow him down and Dirk and Howard need to DRIVE if they can't get their shots to fall.

I couldn't agree with you more about Wade. He is showing that we might have a new "best player in the NBA" soon. Who is a better all around player (LeBron or Wade) is debatable (sp?), but my vote goes to Wade because of his defense.

Hope my wade jersey comes in soon.. yea wade is awesome but ofcourse i think he can still get better...

Heres hoping we can win game 5 and try to pull one out in dallas

That article above is interesting though on how cuban showed up on letterman thinking the series was wrapped up... i hope we can shut his ass up

Seriously, Lebron is so overrated it makes me sick. Wade is almost single handedly carring his team against the Mavs. Sure he has Shaq but Wade is still carrying the bulk of the load. The guy is playing incredible. I hope Dirk doesn't let his heroics against the Spurs and Suns go to waste.

I don't give a damn who wins, I just want to see an awesome series.

Unfortunately, there has only been one great game in the series. The other two have been blow outs, and one was a really sloppy game 1 from both teams.

First off, Dallas should have made this a lot closer by making their open looks. Secondly, they look a bit deflated and soft. Nowitski needs to be more aggressive. Avery Johnson made no adjustments during the game. The only way Miami didn't win by 50 is because they kept turning the ball over in the final quarter.

I stick by my original prediction of Dallas in 6 though because I feel Miami can't win 2 more in this series, unless Wade drops a 50 bomb in Dallas and the Mavs limp through the rest of the way.

Also, Miami only has a chance to take this series if they win the next game, which seems like a daunting task since it would be a third straight win against a quality opponent. If they take Game 5, there is a small chance they can win one in Dallas. I really don't like the 2-3-2 format, but I guess they did it for financial reasons more than anything else.

Here's hoping for a 7 game series with the last game ending on the last shot of the game for either team :)

I don't know that LeBron is overrated. They guy is a freak of nature and a damn good ball player. He was pretty clutch in these playoffs, although most of that came against the Wizards. You do have to give the guy credit for taking the Pistons to 7 games. Granted these weren't the Pistons of the last couple years, but LeBron really doesn't have anyone else on that team. All of that said, I do think Wade is the better player right now, and may be remembered as the better player when both their careers are over. I definitely am a bigger fan of Wades. I really thought the Bulls should have traded up in order to pick him in the draft. Not that Hinrich isn't a good player (I think that was the same year), but Wade is, well Wade....
Not only have they lost their once-commanding lead in the NBA Finals, they will head into Sunday's critical Game 5 without Jerry Stackhouse. Coach Avery Johnson said the Mavericks' sixth man has been suspended one game for his flagrant foul on Shaquille O'Neal during the second half of the Heat's series-tying victory Thursday night in Miami.
Wow, this is pretty lame. So apparently it's okay for Shaq to break a player's nose without repercussion. This is a big loss for the Mavs, because Stackhouse has been our energy off the bench.

However, a little part of me still thinks it was worth it just to see Shaq's big ass getting thrown to the floor. He's done that kinda shit to people countless times, and it's nice to see him get some in return.

The way the playoffs have been called Stackhouse deserves the suspension. Posey did the same thing to Hinrich in the first round.

Now, Williams is an idiot pure and simple, that handing to Shaq is damn near And1. If i'm on a breakaway as a defender and someone does that shit, i'd foul hard too.

Stack was smart to try for a foul, but not that hard, maybe a smack on the hand would've worked.

Wade was smart by holding down Shaq, seeing as how Shaq had a T already.

Oh yeah, Go Heat.

Exactly. As soon as I saw that play, I knew Stack was getting suspended. I think Posey's play was a little more thuggish though. He just lowered his shoulder and ran Hinrich over. It looked like Stack was going for the intentional foul to put Shaq on the line and not give him the easy 2. Posey was just being a thug.

It was only a flagrant one, so I really don't see the need for a suspension. You have to understand, if two players are running full speed and the other swipes at the ball aggressively, more often than not, someone is going down.

Now, Stackhouse led with his body, but he did go after the ball, too. I think a fine may have been more appropriate.

Saying Stackhouse went for the ball, is like saying Raja Bell went for Kobe's arm instead of his neck.

I'm not saying his intention wasn't to foul Shaq. I'm saying he also made a play for the ball, and that should have been taken into consideration before they suspended him. I think a one-game suspension in the NBA Finals is way too harsh for a hard foul like that.

Stack's arms were extended and going for the ball, so it was kind of lame that they suspended him. He did throw his body into him but, I thought he did the right thing giving him the hard foul. You don't just tap Shaq on the hand on a foul, cuz more than likely he gets basket and a free throw.

He didn't go for the ball, we went straight for shaq.

I think your just seeing what you want to me (and probably I am too), but he went straight for shaq and didnt make a play for the ball. We need a pic or vid of this.

And I'd like to end this post with one of my favorite Shaq quotes, "If you don't like me then there is something wrong with you. Everybody loves me."

edit:
First off Shaq has been pushing and abusing people all series, like STACKHOUSE's nose, Dirk's face.
But those are unintentional.

And you can tell this jusy by the way he was trying to get up from the floor? You did see him go straight to the Miami bench as soon as he got up right?

Don't kid yourself. You can get alot from body language. Shaq was clearly getting up with the intention of going after Stackhouse. I think it was pretty obvious how he popped up. Wade (or whoever it was) led him away and Shaq quickly knew that it wouldn't have been smart to go after Stack. Had someone not had the chance to get in front of him, he would have been right in Stack's face.

If Wade didn't have Shaq he wouldn't be able to do all the things he does. Dallas is focused on defending Shaq, they're letting Wade shoot jumpshots. Who else are teams focused on guarding against the Cavs? Ilgauskas? Lebron has to create on his own, Wade has a lot more breathing room because if teams don't focus at least 65% of their defensive strategy to Shaq, Shaq will make them pay.

I'm no LeBron lover or anything, but I think LeBron isn't as overrated as most people think. And I also think that Wade is slightly overrated because people forget that he's in a much easier situation.

look at that. A fucken forearm to the head. fuck stackhouse.

And Wow oh my god shaq looks like his going to kill everyone

Here's the ingame version. Mute it so you dont get influenced by the announcers.
In the beginning they say the official is also trying to stop shaq from getting to stackhouse but he looks more like he's talking to the official or more likely looking at walker telling stackhouse how much of a punk bitch he is. If shaq really wanted to go after stackhouse he could have easily got by wade.

I hope the heat win mourning deserves a ring its a good series but stackhouse got screwed he woudlnt be out a game if he had done that to any of the other heat players.
Its just a bit of favortism cause its shaq.

Logicly stackhouse just got those stiches and so on due to shaqs hard foul and he wasnt suspended a game?

I also wonderd if the officials were eye balling shaq and stackhouse after that blood making sure they woudlnt start with eatchother ?

I don't care about whether the foul was warranted, was flagrant, was hard, etc.

The only thing that pisses me off is that the league is playing a hand in trying to determine the outcome of the series. Game 5 would be much better with Stackhouse than without. You should be allowed to play your best players on the court unless they go out and do something just completely crazy. I don't think it deserved a one game suspension, and I think Stu Jackson sucks.
